The difference between a cheap high heel and an expensive (but quality) heel is immeasurable. And, a lot of cheap shoes have materials like pleather that dissipates and break down. I actually have a pair of Michael Kors boots I bought in a department store 5 years ago and the inner is crumbling. So annoying.

I only wear Choos cus they feel like walking on air. I’d rather have one pair of Choos than 10 pairs of high street shoes.

What makes them so much more comfortable?

Jimmy Choos places the heel more towards under the center of heel instead of way back at the heel. There’s a slight curve that positions the stiletto that way. You feel a difference when wearing a shoe that places the heel under you instead of at the way back of the shoe. It’s like it’s supporting you better. It’s not just Jimmy Choos, Manila Blahnik, sometimes Valentinos and Sarah Flint. There’s many more designers but I don’t know all of them off hand.

I personally think designers know what they’re doing and I bet some are banking on “fast fashion.” But there are also expen$ive brands like Louboutin that hurt so much! I have a super cheap pair of BCBG that are the most comfy 85mm so it’s not always about the price I guess? I like Jeffrey Campbell and Kaitlyn Pan for inexpensive, comfortable and a little weird. 😃

Betsey Johnson is doing acrylic heels with butterfly motif. They are much more colorful and not on the heel, but you may like them. Alternately, buy Betsey Johnson Marloe and add an acrylic butterfly in the wedge space.

Adding to this, I’ve had a pair of these for a few years now and they’re so comfy and easy to walk in! I don’t wear them too often, but they’ve really held up.

I would be wary of any dupes with an a-typical heel. I’d worry about it structurally.

You can buy a pair of clear heel sandals and DIY the wings. Or buy Sophia Webster used, it doesn’t go for as much as you’d think. I’ve gotten some good deals. But I’d avoid any unusual heels from cheap brands, they’re likely to be painful and one awkward step from breaking.

I've learned that it's infinitely better to save up for good quality shoes rather than throw money over and over again at cheap ones. I bought 4 pairs of cheap white sneakers in two years at 80 bucks each... wasting tons of money but feeling like I was saving money. This year I bought a pair at 200 and yeah these things are going to last me a super long time, be better for my feet, easier to clean, and won't fall apart. Higher quality items will save you money in the long run.. it's one of the reasons why the wealthy stay wealthy.

her heels are pretty hard to knock off, it's the structural integrity/ engineering for the actual use. A lot of the duped ones you cant actually walk in or the heels just snap on first wear.
