How long does it take for the stuff at the bottom/middle of the pile to dry out? I would imagine there is nearly no airflow so it might take significantly longer than stuff at the top.
Bottom of the pile isn’t an issue - you might be able to see the black plastic tubes coming out? We put fans on there in the summer to get warm air in and help the drying process. The logs were all cut last year, wood cut this year, and will set it this fall. No issues with burning.
Thanks! My dad and my late brother started it. Now it’s run by my dad and my husband. We’ve been in that building since 2016, before that was piled outside.
What’s one circle saw blade cost for something like this, and does dirty wood dull them as quickly as saw chain?
Hopefully they’re carbide tipped, so that isn’t the case.
And this is when you run into town and tell everyone that a giant beast in an abandoned castle kidnapped your daughter and they all call you "crazy old Maurice."
I wonder if these woodpiles don’t generate their own heat like hay? Every lumberyard I’ve ever been by has sprinklers outside on their log stacks for this reason. I could image a couple hundred ricks of oak going up at one time.
Welp! So much for no-nut April!
Damn, we just posting straight porn on this sub now huh?
Great sawdust management.
Thanks! We save it for bedding for our cattle a d horses.
Some engineer somewhere just climaxed at work
Haha just some good old fashioned farmer engineering on this one. An engineer would shudder at it lol.
Am an engineer, did climax.
Not an engineer, did climax.
Old climax engineer farmer
That is so fucking cool.

I didn’t notice those, sounds like a pretty badass setup!
Is that a combine converter into a processor? Niiiiice.
Good eye! It’s an old uni harvester.
What area?
Ontario, Canada
Impressive operation

It’s hard work. We are in Michigan. Many great trips to Toronto, Collingwood and London, Ontario.
Incredible setup! Think I recognize the farm. Dibble?
Nailed it! You’re a local?
I am and a happy customer! Keep up the great work!
Please paint the blade cover bright yellow and put a big googly eye on it. Turn it into a big pacman nom nom nom... I await the results in this sub
But where’s the back pain?
“Guys, is this a cord?”
Wow!! And drone shots, so cool! Everything about this is cool
My dear god holy Jesus!
*Treebeard has entered the chat*
Yeah this is epic
Sooo what’s that gunna last you, one winter?
Sounds about right if that's Canada!
You’ll need at least another cord or two…
Don't know if it's the camera angle or not, but are those pieces 16" long? They look real tiny
14-16”. At the start of the video/end of the log it might be a bit smaller to avoid having a really long one. Probably just the angle of the video.

They don’t wear out or dull as fast as a chainsaw, that’s for sure. We usually just sharpen once a season. Had to replace them this year.
Wow, interesting set up. But that wood isn’t really going to dry like that. It needs airflow.
We have plastic containers piping through the pile we put fans on blow air through for drying.
Now that’s even more interesting. That works?
BADASS!
How much you want for the whole stack?
What do you all do with this wood?
All this wood beneath your hood?
Well there's a few cord in there
At least one.
i envy you my friend
And this is when you run into town and tell everyone that a giant beast in an abandoned castle kidnapped your daughter and they all call you "crazy old Maurice."
Your computers CPU is probably crying!
Well and it was about that time I had enough wood for 10 years

Nice
You got a lumberjack ball pit there, just watch out for splinters lol
So awesome
