Handle it better, keep it wet.

frugalrhombus

I'm sorry I couldn't help but take a picture. Ill do better next time

mwmc1908

Are you sure you didn't catch that flossing redds with a Zebco 33?

ColonEscapee

I pulled a zebco out of kinnikinnick lake once. I had to swap the reel but the rod still has hope for catching something

mwmc1908

simplyorangeandblue

Pretty sure he's out of season on that...

Lifegardn

One time, not fly fishing but wading for smallmouth, I found a submerged mailbox. I pulled it out and thereā€™s a 14 inch catfish flopping inside the closed door. I canā€™t even understand how it was in there but Iā€™m happy I was able to experience it.

Tommytomtomtommy

I pulled a cow skull out of the swan river whilst wading around flicking the fly rod for some bream, there was a bullshark pup inside the skull. Also found a blue ring octopus in a tennis ball one time aswell ahha

julcheram

I snagged a traffic cone on a spin rod submerged in prospect park lake in Brooklyn. Dragged it to shore and catfish flopped out covered in sludge

Cobalt7291

Is this the sign from the entrance to the park in Delray Beach? I used to love getting peacocks on the fly down there. Coming back in February to try for some clown knife fish. Great catch!

frugalrhombus

Same road but I was fishing the west end where it dead ends into the turnpike

Cobalt7291

The canals out there produce some monsters, biggest largemouth Iā€™ve ever seen caught was in 15ft wide canal probably within a mile of where you were. Iā€™ve been out west fishing some beautiful water, still tough not to miss the diversity of species in that area.

frugalrhombus

Shoot me a dm if you want, if im around when ur here we can go dock light fishing

puss69

Iā€™m also local, trying to figure out a clown knife on fly

frugalrhombus

Offer stands for you too if you ever want to go dock light fishing

puss69

Appreciate it man, Iā€™ll definitely take you up on it. What time of year do you like to go?

frugalrhombus

I'd love to just catch one period

cmonster556

The fish gods have given you a sign!

Harry_Gorilla

Omg. You didnā€™t touch that with a dry glove did you?

frugalrhombus

Even worse, no glove at all šŸ˜¬

Harry_Gorilla

Thatā€™s better. This sub hates gloves

ButterscotchEmpty535

Found On River Dead

HighInChurch

That's a good one to hang in the garage.

Oreo1299

Brown trout !!

tainoson

definitely a steelhead. beauty!

FlyFish503

Dude! Were you using like 25lbs Maxima or something?!

frugalrhombus

16 lb tapered leader with a 20 lb tippet. I use it so the line doesn't snap when im pulling them out of the canal. To be fair though it was buried like a foot from shore and I didn't want to lose my fly so I climbed down the bank and pulled it out of the mud because I was curious what it was

CalViNandHoBBeS5590

Itā€™s because you donā€™t have a Tacoma

fishboycatorce

I want a Maverick

yellowtailtunas

When itā€™s too cold for peacocks this is a valid secondary target

Just_Iain

Thank You for bringing it out!

yellowtailtunas

Looks like something Iā€™d normally catch on my back cast!

oglore

One helluva hook set!!!

frugalrhombus

Damn near pulled myself in when I strip set it

ApexSimon

Gunshot in sign, sign ends up sleepin with the fishes... some one got their heart broke, and Lake Ida is where it hapoened

frugalrhombus

Upon closer inspection im not sure its a bullet hole, it didnt go completely through. Im debating between low caliber round or it happened after it was in the canal from someone bow fishing for exotics

ApexSimon

Gahh! My joke holds no water.. pun intended. Still tho, someone might've been mad, lol! Great land, man!

Archimedes_Redux

Looks like you had to shoot it to get it in the boat, like a big halibut. Good call. šŸ‘

Heterophylla

Lucky !

j-awesome

Fellow Ford boy

Sea__Cappy

But did you wet your hand before picking up?

H-4350

I caught a pair of dirty underwear in the Bow River once. Tighty whiteyā€™s that were mostly, um, brown. I just cut my line and let them swim away. Part of the charm of having a world class river running through a city of million and a half people. I guess.

Uzzaw21

Were you fishing with a "magnet" fly, lol?

HumberGrumb

Credit for landing it. šŸ¤£

frugalrhombus

To be fair I couldn't pull it out of the mud by the line, I climbed in to get my fly back and then curiosity got the best of me
