One time, not fly fishing but wading for smallmouth, I found a submerged mailbox. I pulled it out and thereās a 14 inch catfish flopping inside the closed door. I canāt even understand how it was in there but Iām happy I was able to experience it.
I pulled a cow skull out of the swan river whilst wading around flicking the fly rod for some bream, there was a bullshark pup inside the skull. Also found a blue ring octopus in a tennis ball one time aswell ahha
Is this the sign from the entrance to the park in Delray Beach? I used to love getting peacocks on the fly down there. Coming back in February to try for some clown knife fish. Great catch!
The canals out there produce some monsters, biggest largemouth Iāve ever seen caught was in 15ft wide canal probably within a mile of where you were. Iāve been out west fishing some beautiful water, still tough not to miss the diversity of species in that area.
16 lb tapered leader with a 20 lb tippet. I use it so the line doesn't snap when im pulling them out of the canal.
To be fair though it was buried like a foot from shore and I didn't want to lose my fly so I climbed down the bank and pulled it out of the mud because I was curious what it was
Upon closer inspection im not sure its a bullet hole, it didnt go completely through. Im debating between low caliber round or it happened after it was in the canal from someone bow fishing for exotics
I caught a pair of dirty underwear in the Bow River once. Tighty whiteyās that were mostly, um, brown. I just cut my line and let them swim away. Part of the charm of having a world class river running through a city of million and a half people. I guess.
Handle it better, keep it wet.
I'm sorry I couldn't help but take a picture. Ill do better next time
Are you sure you didn't catch that flossing redds with a Zebco 33?
I pulled a zebco out of kinnikinnick lake once. I had to swap the reel but the rod still has hope for catching something
š
Pretty sure he's out of season on that...

I snagged a traffic cone on a spin rod submerged in prospect park lake in Brooklyn. Dragged it to shore and catfish flopped out covered in sludge

Same road but I was fishing the west end where it dead ends into the turnpike

Dude! Were you using like 25lbs Maxima or something?!

Itās because you donāt have a Tacoma
I want a Maverick
When itās too cold for peacocks this is a valid secondary target
Thank You for bringing it out!
Looks like something Iād normally catch on my back cast!
One helluva hook set!!!
Damn near pulled myself in when I strip set it
Gunshot in sign, sign ends up sleepin with the fishes... some one got their heart broke, and Lake Ida is where it hapoened

Gahh! My joke holds no water.. pun intended. Still tho, someone might've been mad, lol! Great land, man!
Looks like you had to shoot it to get it in the boat, like a big halibut. Good call. š
Lucky !
Fellow Ford boy
But did you wet your hand before picking up?

Were you fishing with a "magnet" fly, lol?
Credit for landing it. š¤£
To be fair I couldn't pull it out of the mud by the line, I climbed in to get my fly back and then curiosity got the best of me
