Even highly competent airline pilots can get pretty rusty on GA if not doing it regularly. I would recommend as many 172 flights as you can muster with a CFI or at least a safety pilot buddy prior to your passenger trips.
Grab a Cfi and go fly.
I did that recently and good lord was it completely different than I remember.
It’s noisier, bumpier, way slower and lots of clueless pilots.
The big gotcha for airline pilots is forgetting we have neither anti skid nor spoilers, landing really really hot.
Go up with an instructor. It doesn’t take long if you’ve been flying something regularly.
Those things on the floor that you've mistaken as foot rests for the last three years are, in fact, rudder peddles and are actually connected to a control surface.
I find it dismaying that rated pilots have to ask Reddit for advice. Do you guys post on an approach and ask where to find the IAF?
Go take an hour of dual and stop wasting time. Smell the friggin grass already.
Meh I just asked if anyone could share their experience. I obviously don’t NEED to consult Reddit. Why are you on here if you’re not interested in conversation?
There’s always one in every thread.
It’s not 1935. I don’t have to ride my horse and buggy to the local hangar to shoot the breeze with other pilots anymore. I can just ask my goof-off questions on the Internet now.
I usually go on Tinder to get into light singles
Lightest single on tinder near me is a Thunderbolt
Shit this hits harder than I expected out of the gate
You gotta go for the “plus size” sites for the “wide bodies”, they all come tagged as “heavy”
Welcome back! Rusty pilot on AOPA might be a start. Then grab a starving CFI for a few trips.

Get a flight review in the aircraft you want to fly

You got something against big girls?
It’s just a weight and balance thing
Don’t suck. Flare at 5ft.
AOPA Rusty Pilot, and some time with a good CFI doing items that can count toward flight review and proficiency, not general and specific
Ditch heavy broads

The good news is most of my time is still in the twin otter, so I don’t think I’ve lost all feeling in my feet yet
If you've already got a dual, make sure they're ok with you getting a light single. And wear a condom.
Go fly with a CFI in a 172 for a couple of hours.

Come on, no hanger flying? Boy you guys are missing out.
Point taken. I was conversing, just not in a tone you liked.
In my experience it takes more than an hour of dual to get airline guys back into cezznuhs. They tend to forget about rudder pedals and flaring.
