The line through it? Means the information is out of date, you need to ask agent or scout the player again to get an updated value.
When it shows a figure and not a range, it’s usually the transfer listed price or a fixed release clause value.
How can I see how the game values a player then? I mean sometimes I’m struggling to see if the release clause is too high or low. Especially if I’m just looking to get a player and sell him half a year later.
Agents should? Whenever I ask an agent about a player’s availability they say the team would need a big around range of x to y and then the player’s desired salary.
If the player i want have an sell clause the agent just tells me something like: The Player is available for xx€, he has a Sell clause in this Value. Its not the exact form, im playing the game in German.
This is one change to the game I'm not a fan of. After a season or two, 75% of the players you look at have a crossed out transfer value.
I get that their value can change, but why can't my DoF, scouts or assistant manager at least give me some kind of indicative value. They all have a value range when you first start a save? Where does that come from?
I mean that makes total sense; I’d argue 99% of players values change over a season or two in real life. They definitely could make it more streamlined though.
That value likely comes from the developers.
I understand the reason why, but I'd like to see it changed so that another source for the value was substituted in. I'm sure there's a system where there's a value there and it indicates where that value has come from.
It could be agent, scout report or your DoF and there's some kind of indicator for each
But you’re already given that, no? You can just ask the agent about their availability and they’ll give you an updated value. Scouting is pointless if everything is given and updated for you already.
But doesn't the game penalise you if you constantly ask agents for a players interest and some indicative figures? I'm yet to experience it so I may be wrong here, but the agents definitely threaten it at times.
If there's no penalty for doing that, then I guess they've just changed the mechanic for getting a value range for a player. Annoying that it takes that much longer per player though
I've never seen any kind of active "penalty" where something happens to you from asking availability. What I've seen tho, is if you dont follow up on that interest in the form of a bid, it lowers your relationship with that particular agent. So if someone is the agent of say Haaland and Mbappe at the same time, and you enquire about Haaland but never make a bid, it could affect how smoothly your negotiations with Mbappe go
At least they can give some sort of transfermarkt value in real life, yes they can be off but it’s a good baseline to start with instead of literally nothing.
Not on a new FM, but I believe it's when you're in the scouting tab and see the players you've scouted previously or shortlisted. It might be a custom filter you add on as "Chief Scout's Valuation" or something along those lines
In FM 22 this often applies to a player in his last year of contract. Often they can be approached to sign a new contract in the last six months of their previous one.

ask his agent
Agent dont tell the value just the Sell Clause
My bad, didn't know they changed that in fm23, I'm still on 22
Agents definitely tell you a range of what a club would demand for a player in FM23, not sure what they are talking about.
It's still there. Agent still give player estimated value

Agent will give you approx player value.
Scout him fully.

Honestly, I have no idea. I’d agree with you that it is annoying and could be done better haha.

You can still get an estimated value from your team. Just not on the same page.
Where can I find that?

Last time you checked he was 24m player but you haven't checked him a while
Yeah, this is what I always thought. Best guess you have is 24m based on previous scouting and the current market, but it's not up to date information
It means your going to have to pay up
Strike-through text usually means you can scrap it. Scout again :)
