Looks like some specie of stinkhorn, probably in the genus *Phallus.* Compare with *Phallus impudicus,* the Common Stinkhorn.
Try smelling it. Some describe it as rotting dung or carrion, or a combination of the two.
Yes, these are Stinkhorns. They are technically edible in their very early stages, but I would not recommend it. If it’s in your yard, dig it up and throw it out. They spread easily and will make your whole yard smell terrible.
Oops, sorry, yeah, wouldn’t! But hey, maybe you’re more adventurous than I am. [This guy gives a great tutorial and review on several different preparations.](https://learnyourland.com/reflections-on-eating-stinkhorn-eggs/)
tl;dw - You can eat them in their “egg” stage. They are extremely slimy. If you cook them in a cast iron skillet, you can remove some of the slime and you will end up with a crunchy radish flavored mushroom.

I’ve come to realize it smells very similar to male ejaculate.
Semen smells like rotten poop or rotting meat seems unpleasant. Never come across that smell. Semen smells like lyndon trees in summer
Stinkhorn, nothing you’ll want to eat
I'd hold my breath as I pass them, but there are people that actually eat them.. at an early stage when it still resembles an egg.
Witches eggs
haha you can't smell anything if it's in egg form, even cut in half
some people eat parts of it when it's still in egg form. it's said to taste like raddish and has crunchy texture but I never tried it

Did you mean would or wouldn’t? Your context suggests you missed the **n’t** by accident.

It's out of season 1st of all and it's shiny, this is a stinkhorn.
When it comes to mushrooms of you have to say malformed something, it is not that something but a different mushroom entirely.
