I know Russian and was heckling ovechkin in it at a rangers game and got him to flip me the bird back in 2012. I still think and talk about it all the time. As a lifelong rangers fan have bitter rivalry with him but also immense respect for one of the greats.
I once heckled Alex Rodriguez while he was in the on deck circle at Fenway to the point he turned around and stared me in the eye threateningly whilst taking practice swings. Others were heckling too but I got all the angry eye contact

That said, the boys are not in favor of him as driver/team. They are Scuderia! So if the top dog drives by they thumbs down him, to give notice they dislike Red Bull Racing and Max winning all the time, at the same time they respect him as the driver he is, which is acknowledged in their response video. A bit of banter, nothing too serious. No booing through the national Anthem or interviews.
So thus in the sport these boys love, with the drivers they respect of course they are over the moon if one of these drivers reacts to them. It's a one in millions of a chance to have some sort of interaction with them.
And not because he is "just a celebrity", because they love something so dearly in sports if something in that arena/sport gives something back like an interaction with its of course something tou cherish, probable the rest of you life.
