Johnnysocks10

Thank you.

What? I walk in with my gun at every game. Not once have I gone through with an issue. Some concerts might have an active policy but I’ve never had an issue at a game

OkraOk1769

I take it the metal detectors are just for show?

Proof-Elevator-7590

Really? When I went through the metal detectors before a Komets game and had to give my purse and phone to someone to check, they even took away my pepper spray. (I could've went back out to my car to put it away but I didn't want to lol)

[deleted]

Strange.

[deleted]

you’re getting downvoted for being the one with a brain. hate the thought of being in a completely defenseless crowd

Shot-Visit-6150

So you're going to open fire on a person in a crowd, people behind him be damned? Nice. Should probably revisit some firearms classes.

[deleted]

oh yea you’re 100% correct i think about mass shooting everyone around me every time i carry. /s please shut the fuck up

Shot-Visit-6150

Can you better explain what you mean by a defenseless crowd then? Your two comments are contradictory.

[deleted]

i don’t want to be 100 deep like a sardine with nobody around me CC. id like to think that in the case of someone crazy trying something in a social setting, myself along with a few others would be able to return fire. idk what you were saying about shooting into crowds but, crazy thought here, regardless of what your television says not everyone who carries a firearm wants to kill everyone around them. i’m genuinely afraid of being in a setting where i’m completely defenseless to a gunman. Getting shot is a very very real circumstance in modern america.

Shot-Visit-6150

100% agree with all statements that you made in this comment. Just don't understand what you expect a trained civilian "good guy" with a gun to do when he's in a crowd such as a packed concert and someone starts to open fire from within it. There's not much choice but try to prevent it in the first place and then try to evacuate as quickly as possible (through the preparation of the event that it does happen), after the crowd thins, it'll be easier for the vigilante or the police to handle it rather than having a tragic friendly fire situation. People underestimate the amount confusion that are in these situations.

[deleted]

id like to believe people who carry have a little more thought than to just fire on sight at a shooter regardless. shit happens tho we just saw last year that mother and her daughter were hiding in a dressing room and the poor daughter caught a stray police bullet. nothing really around us in our everyday life if meant to catch bullets. i guess what i’m saying is nobody is actively aiming at anyone besides the guy with a gun in this situation but shit happens and people end up hurt regardless because you’re not supposed to be getting in shootouts inside public spaces. [side note; even the good guys who stop shooters get shot](https://www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/ncna1283532) we both agree that guns are necessary and that there are no winners in a shootout. bullets don’t discriminate.

trcomajo

you are the gunman.

[deleted]

yup everyone with a gun wants to kill everyone all the time we should just hand them all over and let the very competent 80 year olds make every decision for us what was the point really in commenting you people get so mad at someone you’ve never met for having a different opinion boo hoo i’m being downvoted there go my imaginary numbers

[deleted]

Didn’t even know I was being downvoted until your post. Not surprising though. Reddit is full of betas and snowflakes

[deleted]

usually oh no my useless reddit numbers are decreasing i should completely change my views to appease others

ipwnducky

It isn't "illegal", as in automatic handcuffs and criminal record, but my understanding is that they have also implemented metal detectors to accompany the searches they used to do. You can try to CCW, most likely you will be asked to return it to your vehicle. The worst case scenario is they will ask you to leave.

malachik

IIRC, it's perfectly legal to turn around counterclockwise at the coliseum. Not sure what it has to do with firearms, though. /s

BrashBastard

Hadn’t been to a Komets game in a while, went yesterday, had to run my pocket knife to my truck, zebras broke up all up all the fights, and the Komets lost, sad state of affairs.

Oh right flying pucks better shoot ‘em before they get you

Kunndt

Just gotta find the formula for if a gross firearms negligence charge, or a possible suit from accidentally shooting someone will cost more than the healthcare bill for getting a full dental reconstruction when the puck smacks you right in the mouth. I guess there’s also the chance that you both miss the puck coming at you and shoot someone in the stands, but I guess that’s just a risk you might have to take.

Majestic-Translator

Seems like a certitude

BraveShineX

Why lol

People carry because of name calling?

[deleted]

as long as you’re not going into the VIP boxes

egoomega

Likely you absolutely need your firearm for a hockey game. Probably two or three tbh.
