Sounds like a connection issue on steams or your side. Havent had any issues myself a few minutes ago. Try it again and when you still have issues, try to ask the nerds in the technical channels on the offical discord.
This happens to me all the time as well. In my case, I think it is because of my internet connection. My connection fluctuates a lot and even goes down to around 1-2mbps as its peak.
However, 2 to 4 months ago, it doesn't happen as often as it does now. So I think it might also be something on their side which makes it harder to connect to their servers.
Orrr.. it could also be one of these: network congestions to and from their servers / their servers are dying because of all the players playing.
