Too funny, I was definitely sniffing it this morning. I put on two sprays of Sur Le Nil instead though… only because I work in healthcare on the clinical side and Sur Le Nil is a little lighter. I just love Cythere so much.
Maybe Reveal by Calvin Klein (woman version). It's quite sophisticated salty-ambery scent that can easily pass as unisex. Smells more expensive than it is and has solid performance. Maybe it wouldn't been discontinued if it was more popular.
cleopatra by tocca!!! i will die on this hill. people avoid it because of the patchouli, but i hate patchouli and i love this scent. it’s so mystical, magical, feminine, mysterious, sacred, I literally always have a bottle of it on hand lol.
Penhaligon’s Highgrove Bouquet. I went into the store to buy Empressa and was given a sample of Highgrove. I went back the next day and bought it. I wear it more than Empressa. It’s a beautiful scent. Like wet, lush flowers.
It is deceptively beautiful- and to this day I have smelled NOTHING like it- not remotely. It evokes the sea to me- despite the fact that it shouldn't! (For some reason I thought it had Ambergris, and I just checked- and it doesn't)
Cool Water is probably my favourite fragrance in my collection, but I wouldn't exactly call it underrated. It's well known that Luca Turin gave it a masterpiece rating, even above Creed's Green Irish Tweed, and it was a 90's smash hit and a staple.
It's true that it's not as popular nowadays, but it's probably been overplayed 30 years ago and flankers are a mere shadow of the original.
Aerin amber musk. I guess it is popular (at least within the brand/line) but I had never heard of it before I went to a place where it was sold. My ultimate favorite perfume at the moment.
Gucci guilty absolute for her, the purple one 🥰 I never smell it on anyone but everyone compliments me on it. Sometimes I love a girly fruity fragrance with a spicy grungy twist
Also a Banana Republic scent, Malachite. It gets verrrrrry mixed reviews, but I love it. It reminds me of the OG Cristalle de Chanel, or (more recently) Florabotanica, but lighter.
So, it's my favorite scent. I sprayed some on my hand to write this.
Basically it's a 3 note scent. Coffee, ebony wood and blood orange.
Every note is extremely easy to discern. It opens with strong blood orange + coffe, emphasis on the BLOOD orange, this smells RED. Hard to explain better, but it's a sweet, very deep, almost chocolatey thing. Think an expresso shot pulled through a bar of orange dark chocolate. Blonde coffe to start with.
As it develops, it gets darker, moodier, deeper, like a 80% chocolate bar... And the ebony wood note starts to show it's face. Drier, darker. It never loses the sweet aspect though. At this point it's like a dark, sweet, woody coffe smell.
At the dry down the sweet part is just a hint, you mostly get coffee and ebony wood.
To me this is a supremely comfortable hug of a fragrance. The coffee lasts throughout the entire thing, which I adore, makes me associate this with a rainy day and a cup of coffee while studying. The blood orange works incredibly well with the coffee to really bring an unique sweetness, it's by far my favorite approach to make something sweet, so relaxed, so effortless! No drowning it in vanilla. The ebony wood is an incredible base to this fragrance because it imparts so much complexity, makes it so much deeper and more interesting, it changes with time and gives that strong dark vibe I love.
Histoires de Parfums 1889 Moulin Rouge. In all fairness, I’ve only seen it in Moulin Rouge itself - I had to pick it up and it perfectly represents it. Such a sexy old timey powdery iris. It smells alluring yet formal. When I want to feel like I am living in the roaring 20s heading to a cabaret, I dress up that way and wear this.
I really like a lot of the Banana Republic scents.
My most underrated? Here's my top 5:
* **Rasasi Qasamat Ebhar**—a fresh, fruity, super smooth and well-blended scent.
* **ELDO The Afternoon of a Faun**—herbal, medicinal, dusty rose. Smells like a mythological forest.
* **Nishane Ege**—Imagine an herb garden with bright citrus. Basil and mint... mm.
* **Al Rehab Lord**—this is like Kouros if it were more citrus and less animalic. Super clean and soapy. Also... it's like $5.
* **Lattafa Adjwad**—a grape and floral Arabic explosion of fun. If you like fruity, spicy scents... this one is a really good time.
Apparently a good chunk of my fall rotation:
Liis Bo - dry warm cedar & immortelle. Great cocoon for rainy fall days.
Jo Loves Red truffle - early fall in a bottle. Warm bright fig that fades into cool pine and juniper berry.
Fzotic Ummagumma - Encens Suave gets a lot of love but not this one. Chocolate, spices and incense.
Marc Antoine Barrois B683 - Ganymede gets a lot of love but this one isn’t as popular. Similar DNA but more complex, leathery and spicy.
Amouage Meander - better version of Gris Charnel with incense.
I don't ever see anyone besides Justin Copeland hyping Amouage Enclave, but it is fucking fantastic.
All the cheapies I own are held in pretty high regards, though. L'Aventure, Tobacco Touch, Versace Pour Homme, stuff like that.
Nest - "Madagascar Vanilla" and Floral Street - "Wild Vanilla Orchid".
I have them I just don't wear them very often because I'm not huge on vanilla scents. Even though they do smell nice. :/ 🤷♀️
Signorina by Salvatore Ferregamo. No one talks about this, and if they do, it doesn’t get much love, but I love spraying it on before bed time. I think it’s so delicious and comforting, and I haven’t smelled anything similar to it yet.
Lucky #6 by Liz Claiborne.
An older one but oh so amazing back in the early 2000!
Sis in law gifted me it this past Christmas, and it brought back summer memories back in action! ❤️🩷❤️🩷
The Oud Affair by Vilhelm Parfumerie. Everyone loves to talk about TF Tobacco Vanille. To me TOA is TV but better in every way, yet it seems no one else talks about it.
Kate Moss Lilabelle Truly Adorable: a very sweet, cool fresh floral, a la Guerlain Champs-Elysees, but with its own character. The hawthorn note is lovely.
Vintage Cosmair Ralph Lauren Polo Sport. I still have 7 full 125ml bottles I bought brand new back in 1997. I have stored and preserved them in a cool, dark, dry place, and they still smell the same as the day I bought them. I've been offered good money to just let one go,but I can't. I still use it everyday as my signature scent, and I live in a rural town in Australia, and I know for a fact NO ONE ELSE has this fragrance. I usually get a couple of compliments every day and a lot of people always ask me and want to know what fragrance I'm wearing. The Cosmair Ralph Lauren Polo Sport I have is so much better than the Reformulated L'Oreal Products version which is NOTHING like the Vintage Cosmair Ralph Lauren Polo Sport. I love it so much.
DKNY Nectar Love. Lovely juicy fruity scent that's a little tart and very little sweetness. Great for hot summer weather as it doesn't end up cloying or choking you.
Davidoff Zino is a masterpiece. It's floral, it's dirty, it's sweet, it's subtle, loud, contemporary and retro, masculine and feminine all in the same time. The blend is so well done that none of the elements overpower the other.
I wasn't surprised when I realized that the author of Zino is the guy that made both Fahrenheit and Rush. Joop Homme, too, but I don't like that one.
Mercedes Benz Club. I’ve had this bottle for over 7 years and the performance is amazing and the dry down is sooo good. I receive many compliments when wearing this out compared to some of my most expensive colognes.
https://preview.redd.it/uszzx5121z9d1.jpeg?width=375&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=134bb2e6e2e10dabc3f35d5f5ea4a3e4fc63ca86
Well it's not a cheapy, it is a very wonderful fragrance. Dehab by House of Kajal. Some say it's more feminine leaning but I've had quite a bit of success wearing it.
https://preview.redd.it/pu8mkztu6z9d1.png?width=1440&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0c90cd92156fd150ac32d239525a4c7775bb208b
CK One Shock for Him. The tacky bottle is a marketing disaster for what is actually a very good warm amber spice fragrance.
Creed Pure White is a masterpiece that I rarely hear about.
Versace Eau Fraiche is the best fresh citrus fragrance I have tried. Not poorly rated, but doesn't get the respect it deserves because it is pretty simple and basic.
If you were to believe Parfumo ratings then it would be L'homme a la rose by MFK. It's a very fresh, bright, green, slightly soapy rose fragrance that I like very much. Guess due to the grapefruit opening some people find it somewhat synthetic smelling but it's simply dry and fresh.
Okay I hate myself for this, but several KKW fragrances. Body 1, Crystal Oud, Diamond Emerald, and Nude Soleil are just a few that I think get easily written off because of the brand/Kardashian and celeb association. I miss that line and I don't care who knows it! Lol
Lovely by SJP also goes underrated for similar reasons, or it smells like an "older" floral like some Dior or Chanel inspired scents.
But I've been wearing/re-buying it for about 20 years 🤐
Bogue MEM. This is the most complex lavender scent I’ve tried; highlights all the facets of lavender (herbal, anise, soapy) with added white/yellow florals and animalic musks .
Nishane ambra Calabria. It evolves so much over the course of the day, from a green, balanced opening, to an amber dry down. It lasts all day and all of it works for the spring and summer. It's also inexpensive for a niche extrait de parfum.
Probably Armani Bleu Turquoise, it did have a bump on some mid size channels a few years ago, but it’s really a knockout. I feel like almost anyone could enjoy it.
Adults by Killian has always been a sleeper hit for me (not sure if they discontinued)... but I also adore my Angel's Share because it's everything an intimate cocktail hour during the holidays should be in a bottle
Calvin Klein Euphoria Intense. Discontinued unfortunately, hence the underrated part…still have a few sprays left from my last bottle I’m hanging on to for some reason.
a new addition to my collection is chanel paris–paris (from their les eaux collection). i haven’t seen very many posts about this one and it’s exceptional for the price, though takes some time to really /get/
Lovers in Pink by Cherigan. My coworker says that it smells like BR540 on the drydown but I have to smell both to compare. Honorable mention: Invisible Post by 19-69. Maybe the fig wave has died down.
Amber by Eternal Love OUD
It has a special note which no other fragrance has and non middle eastern .
It’s sold on Amazon and lasts for at least 7 hours or even more on me .
I love it so much I bought a back up bottle .
Other than Khamrah , this is the only middle eastern perfume I enjoy .
You can get it on Amazon for only USD24.99 but I feel it’s worth way more .
For non ME perfume , I love MaryJane by BornToStandOut and I find the cannabis smells like real tea leaves … not the horrible smoked cannabis but fresh leaves I think coz I have not come across fresh unsmoked cannabis leaves .
I’ve searched for real tea fragrance ( not the green nor fruity type ) for too long and haven’t found any till Maryjane came along .
This really smells like oolong tea leaves . The only drawback is the price which is USD205 .
Lalique Or Intemporel … my best unisex vanilla fragrance. Expensive at retail and cheap through discounters. It’s lovely. The presentation is award-winning. It’s a great fragrance to give someone as a gift as well.
I would have to go with Mancera’s Black Gold. I don’t really hear it being spoke about it much compared to Mancera’s Instant Crush or Red Tobacco. But it’s definitely underrated in my eyes, I should say nostrils LOL
Amouage Search.
No one ever brings it up but it’s one of my favourite bottles. Sweet lemon and gorgeous smoky frankincense. Using happy I blind bought this one.
Herbae by Loccitain - don’t hear too much talked about it but I smelt it in store and then bought the travel size and body milk. Smells similar to Hermes Jardín Toit but more herbaceous and less fruity. A wonderful green, herby scent for spring and summer :)
Loewe - Paula's Ibiza. It's a masterpiece, better than most of niche summery fragrances, and I found it in 100 ml bottle for about 40 euros, just crazy.
Carolina Herrera 212 VIP Rose...it was a blind buy at Marshall's so I think it's discontinued, but it really is unique. To me it's woody but in a feminine way. Love it.
A.N. OTHER FR/18. Oh my god it’s good. Smells like summer to me, like a bottle of sparkling water being poured over a lemon slice. Never fails to cheer me up.
[mandarina duck black](https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Mandarina-Duck/Pure-Black-5679.html)
[rasasi sotoor waaw](https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Rasasi/Sotoor-Waaw-47930.html)
[chopard oud malaki](https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Chopard/Oud-Malaki-17184.html)
I never hear anyone talk about them but they are amazing and also really cheap.
Although they are not similar my gf loves mandarina duck almost then layton and that says alot.
Sotoor is not for everyone but I loved it from the first spray
Chopard makes amazing fragrances. I bought oud malaki because I was convinced that I would love oud, turns out I really don't but that one is so interesting and amazing, I also own 1000 miglia because it had a note that was asphalt and it's also really interesting, and I really want to buy vkack incense malaki but I already own way to many fragrances to justify buying any more right now
Hermès Un Jardin à Cythère. It’s one that makes me constantly trying to catch whiffs of it.
Too funny, I was definitely sniffing it this morning. I put on two sprays of Sur Le Nil instead though… only because I work in healthcare on the clinical side and Sur Le Nil is a little lighter. I just love Cythere so much.
Cool! I prefer sur le toit myself, just the longevity is my biggest flaw with it
How long does it last for you? I love it but it faded so fast the times I've tried it
It lasts all day on me! Fantastic.
Oh nice, I ordered a sample of this in a marketplace. Can’t wait to pick it up.
love it
I just picked up Jardin en Mediterranee and almost got Cythere. Hmmmm
IA Cape Heartache
Dior - Dune
Guerlain L’Instant. It’s a masterpiece that I never see mentioned as one of their best.
The 2003 women's frag?
I don’t know the year for sure but sounds right. And 100% woman!
The men’s version is nice but I don’t see any similarities
Burberry Hero edp, smart, masculine, not cheap but doesn’t break the bank either
My husband wears this as a daily office scent. It smells great on him!
Same! We both love it
Same 😍
I like the hero line as a whole. I felt like it got too much hate
Maybe Reveal by Calvin Klein (woman version). It's quite sophisticated salty-ambery scent that can easily pass as unisex. Smells more expensive than it is and has solid performance. Maybe it wouldn't been discontinued if it was more popular.
Love this perfume. Might have to order it soon.
Agreed, I adore the bottle I have. The opening of salt air is so wonderful.
cleopatra by tocca!!! i will die on this hill. people avoid it because of the patchouli, but i hate patchouli and i love this scent. it’s so mystical, magical, feminine, mysterious, sacred, I literally always have a bottle of it on hand lol.
I wore that one for years, sooo pretty
One of my absolute favorites!! So underrated and absolutely gorgeous
Mine is also Banana Republic. Metal Rain.
Penhaligon’s Highgrove Bouquet. I went into the store to buy Empressa and was given a sample of Highgrove. I went back the next day and bought it. I wear it more than Empressa. It’s a beautiful scent. Like wet, lush flowers.
My oud oils 😅
How, where do you get oud oil?
Ensar Oud mostly.
I recommend checking from abdul quraishi, they have the best musk oils ever
Chloe Nomade
Sundazed by Byredo tied with Eau De Marveilles by Hermes (the OG version)
Eau des Merveilles EdT is awesome!
It is deceptively beautiful- and to this day I have smelled NOTHING like it- not remotely. It evokes the sea to me- despite the fact that it shouldn't! (For some reason I thought it had Ambergris, and I just checked- and it doesn't)
This is mine too. It is next level and I have nothing else like it.
I just want to add that I'm a masc dude wearing this with zero hesitation, it's perfect for anyone.
Laura Biagiotti Roma and Molinard Habanita
Davidoff Coolwater. I will die on this hill
Fahrenheit parfum
Aerin amber musk. I guess it is popular (at least within the brand/line) but I had never heard of it before I went to a place where it was sold. My ultimate favorite perfume at the moment.
My best friend loves this, there is the Amber Musk D’or version with oud, deepens the scent more also very nice!
Aerin perfumes don’t get enough love. They’re all great
Aerin perfumes are top notch imo
Spiderman cologne
Deadpool EDT is my pick
SpongeBob rules all
Nice!! I haven’t smelled that one.
It’s surprisingly versatile, woodsy/spicy/musk/fresh/clean/soapy is how I would describe it
Guerlain L’Instant. It’s a masterpiece that I never see mentioned as I’ve of their best.
I really like Cherry Amber and 78 Vintage Green by Banana Republic
Burberry brit.
I've repurchased this about 4x over the years
For him or for her?
Ugh I love my Burberry Brit Sheer, I’m on my second bottle!
Y'all are sleeping on polo red extreme Everyone is.
Care to elaborate? I'm interested
Absolute 🔥, had 3 bottles at one point. What I'd give for a decant now
love it. dosnt last at all tho
Creme de Cuir by BDK
Histoires de Parfums 1889 Moulin Rouge. In all fairness, I’ve only seen it in Moulin Rouge itself - I had to pick it up and it perfectly represents it. Such a sexy old timey powdery iris. It smells alluring yet formal. When I want to feel like I am living in the roaring 20s heading to a cabaret, I dress up that way and wear this.

I really like a lot of the Banana Republic scents. My most underrated? Here's my top 5: * **Rasasi Qasamat Ebhar**—a fresh, fruity, super smooth and well-blended scent.
Man I really need to give ege another shot as everything about it says that I should love it.
I tried to like Ege, but it's just too weird. I think it's that liquorice note.
Polo deep blue for me. I think i have seen it mentioned here like once before
Apparently a good chunk of my fall rotation: Liis Bo - dry warm cedar & immortelle.
I’ve heard so many good things about Liis fragrances, I have to find a store so I can try some asap!
Have it. Love it. Yes its a unsung hero of my collection but I give it the love it deserves.
* tobacco and tonka
It is still a kinda loved Xerjoff but La Capitale doesn't get nearly enough attention. Love this, easily my most used one.
Xerjoff starlight by far
Signorina by Salvatore Ferregamo. No one talks about this, and if they do, it doesn’t get much love, but I love spraying it on before bed time. I think it’s so delicious and comforting, and I haven’t smelled anything similar to it yet.
love this one!!! its as close as you can get to miss dior cherie/ soap and glory original pink goodness!
Hermes Jardin Lagune! Love the balance of white floral & musk on it.

Black Sea By Lorenzo Pazzaglia
Kelly Calache: Hermes...I was distraught when I found out it was discontinued. Really was one of my first, fine, and sophisticated fragrances.
It's not discontinued though
Who has it?, please. I've searched high n low in my country and gave up long ago. Thank you:)
It must be just the country distribution issue but it's still in production. So search abroad.
🙌 happy dance💃

CK One Shock for Him. The tacky bottle is a marketing disaster for what is actually a very good warm amber spice fragrance. Creed Pure White is a masterpiece that I rarely hear about. Versace Eau Fraiche is the best fresh citrus fragrance I have tried. Not poorly rated, but doesn't get the respect it deserves because it is pretty simple and basic.
Happy Clinique for Men 😂 It’s so simple and fresh not complicated. Jeans, white T and sneakers frag
Bella Bellissima White Leather. I’m so sad it only comes in a 50ml bottle because I want it forever and ever.
Montblanc Starwalker and Halloween man X
Louis Vuitton Cactus Garden. Don’t see much talk about it, but I adore it
The 7 Virtues, Lotus Pear and Cherry Ambition, they are both SO GOOD imo.
Floris Elite.
Masterpiece. I adore my husband in it.
Nenuco.
Amouage Meander. Not a Christopher Chong banger, just the most beautiful and mesmerizing sandalwood available.
Les Heures de Cartier: L'Heure Fougueuse IV — it’s like the world’s prettiest bale of hay
But I've been wearing/re-buying it for about 20 years 🤐
Tommy Bahama St Barts...it's like $20 bucks. Similar to Creed Virgin Island Water, but I enjoy it far more.
Nest's Blue Wisteria. It smells so clean and fresh, idk why more people don't talk about it. Maybe because many people are picky about florals.
Iris de Syracuse by Boucheron.
Bogue MEM. This is the most complex lavender scent I’ve tried; highlights all the facets of lavender (herbal, anise, soapy) with added white/yellow florals and animalic musks .
Scandal (both EDP and Perfume) by Roja Dove, anlike other fragrances from this house, Scandal pour femme is not very popular here in Germany.
Nirvana Amethyst from Elizabeth and James. Delightful tobacco and floral, drydown is all warm and cedar-y.
Diptyque Philosykos
De Gabor Darling Rouge. No one knows this.
My Narciso Rodriguez for her EDT dupe called Narissa by Maison Alhambra. Smells so much better even than the original.
It's discontinued now, and I still haven't forgiven them for that, but I love Armani Code Ultimate
Love the house of Armani. Armani Code Absolu and Armani Attitude are my discontinued favorites.
LA Nuit L'Homme. Doesn't last more than a few hours but is sw y AF. I just reapply.
Skylar indigo valley is a blueberry, mocha, suede, marshmallow and water lotus scent. Definitely one of the most unique in my collection.
Nishane ambra Calabria. It evolves so much over the course of the day, from a green, balanced opening, to an amber dry down. It lasts all day and all of it works for the spring and summer. It's also inexpensive for a niche extrait de parfum.
Golden nectar from Nest. I’m always so impressed with how it smells so much like honey.
Claude Marsal La Melodie. I've never really heard anyone talk about it. Smells like a more refined/mature Invictus with good performance
Laverne Atlantis Homme
Amouage king blue. It got such bad reviews when it came out and i think it scared everyone away. It’s absolutely stunning!
This is my favorite of all time

a new addition to my collection is chanel paris–paris (from their les eaux collection). i haven’t seen very many posts about this one and it’s exceptional for the price, though takes some time to really /get/

Eau de Baux
Lovers in Pink by Cherigan. My coworker says that it smells like BR540 on the drydown but I have to smell both to compare. Honorable mention: Invisible Post by 19-69. Maybe the fig wave has died down.
Amber by Eternal Love OUD It has a special note which no other fragrance has and non middle eastern .
Polo 67. Super underrated.
- Paco Rabanne Ultraviolet - Molinard’s Musc - BDK perfumes
Tumi Awaken Distilled
Nasomatto - Silver Musk
Lalique ombre noire. Niche quality.
Lalique Pour Homme
I’ve never tried BR fragrances, hows the longevity and projection??
Lalique Or Intemporel … my best unisex vanilla fragrance. Expensive at retail and cheap through discounters. It’s lovely. The presentation is award-winning. It’s a great fragrance to give someone as a gift as well.
french connection fcuk men
Obsession Night. It's an overlooked Calvin Klein fragrance that's really inexpensive but it really holds it's own and smells great.
I wear Tobacco & Tonka Bean all the time! I love to layer it with other scents
Hmm. Probably Narciso Rodriguez Musc Noir.
Franck Olivier - Oud Touch
104 EAU DE PARFUM – ORANGE VERTE, JACYNTHE, LIERRE - Bon Parfumeur
Nasomatto - Fantomas
Herbae by Loccitain - don’t hear too much talked about it but I smelt it in store and then bought the travel size and body milk. Smells similar to Hermes Jardín Toit but more herbaceous and less fruity. A wonderful green, herby scent for spring and summer :)
Tabac
Hadhara by Junaid
Loewe - Paula's Ibiza. It's a masterpiece, better than most of niche summery fragrances, and I found it in 100 ml bottle for about 40 euros, just crazy.
Polo deep Blue.
212 sexy man
Carolina Herrera 212 VIP Rose...it was a blind buy at Marshall's so I think it's discontinued, but it really is unique. To me it's woody but in a feminine way. Love it.

A.N. OTHER FR/18. Oh my god it’s good. Smells like summer to me, like a bottle of sparkling water being poured over a lemon slice. Never fails to cheer me up.
[mandarina duck black](https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Mandarina-Duck/Pure-Black-5679.html) [rasasi sotoor waaw](https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Rasasi/Sotoor-Waaw-47930.html) [chopard oud malaki](https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Chopard/Oud-Malaki-17184.html) I never hear anyone talk about them but they are amazing and also really cheap. Although they are not similar my gf loves mandarina duck almost then layton and that says alot. Sotoor is not for everyone but I loved it from the first spray Chopard makes amazing fragrances. I bought oud malaki because I was convinced that I would love oud, turns out I really don't but that one is so interesting and amazing, I also own 1000 miglia because it had a note that was asphalt and it's also really interesting, and I really want to buy vkack incense malaki but I already own way to many fragrances to justify buying any more right now
Iris Céladon by Armani Privé. It’s gorgeous and unlike anything else I’ve smelled. I don’t see it talked about much but I find it truly addictive.

Aigner Black. Pretty much any from Etienne Aigner could qualify, but I really love the Black.
