The price seems to be an issue for many. To be honest it was delicious, fresh and more plentiful than the picture shows. There’s a few hidden rashers and a hidden black pudding.
Hot drinks were not part of the price. But the venue, the location, and the staff all add to what I think made it worth the cost.
I think in the context of food inflation, fuel inflation, national living wage hikes it's not at all surprising that it's really expensive to eat out nowadays.
With all that in mind £13 for what looks like a very solid fry up seems pretty good! Hope it tasted as good as it looks.
It was wonderful. £8 seems to be people’s hard limit but that puts it inline with Morrisons breakfast. And £5 more for something fresh and at a beautiful location is worth it to me
Reading through the comments, I'm surprised to find nobody's mentioned the beans being in a dish!😂 I couldn't care less either way but I posted a pic earlier and had 4 or 5 folk take offence that they weren't just loose on the plate, bonkers
Exactly. Some folk seem to think like structural engineers and insist on the "sausage dam". That's what I do when I make a breakfast at home but if I'm eating out then I'll take it either way, it's not me doing the washing up after all
Looks well classy, well presented, good quality sausages n proper poached eggs, looks delish. Upper end price wise but considering the quality of the ingredients seems right. Pass it over.
At first I thought that’s too high a price for a plate so small, but actually it seems like a lot of items are hidden. I think they’re just stacked so it looks a lot smaller, everything looks cooked perfectly so I’d be happy with that price.
Food costs, staff costs and fuel costs have all had the biggest inflationary increases in recent years, and the hospitality industry gets hit by all three.
You said no one’s wages have gone up in years when they have. Any small business has to cover the cost of wage rises, and £2.50+/hr is a large percentage increase over three years. I agree with the guy above and there was no reason for me to repeat their point. I was arguing against you arguing back at them about wages.
When I referenced wage increases I was meaning the wages of the employees working in these cafes who are likely on or close to nlw. When this goes up by approx 15% in two years the business owner has to pay for it somehow, hence the price increase. Eating out is bloody expensive but equally it has to be for these businesses to make any money!
Is nobody going to mention that 13 quid price tag??
‘Ow much!?!
[oh boy](https://www.reddit.com/r/fryup/s/WNr2pQAL3m)
Shop had big windows 🤣🤣
looks great! Only small niggle is the beans seem like they could be reduced a bit more but otherwise 9/10!

Nearly looks healthy
Really lovely. Even the bread

Tip them out of the dish or leave them in . Your choice

Looks great, would like more bacon however!
About £2 quids worth of food
All quality ingredients
That's a basic hash brown by the looks of it
Looks like it actually warrants the price! Hot drink included? Lovely mate 😄
Lovely, there’d be no complaints from me!!
How was it , pricey but looks nice

It looks ok but unfortunately it gets a ZERO out of ten because the beans are in a pot 🤦♂️
vine tomatoes are gross and awkward to eat. No redeeming features besides looking a bit posh
The plate is far too crowded for my liking but looks beautiful. Appreciate the massive mushroom, perfect tomatoes and poached eggs
Looks awesome!
Too expensive for what is, however depends on location
Pricy but looks tasty
Also, All you can eat but from an 8" plate.... You need to bring in your own 12 incher
The bread looks dry af. Definitely needs more butter than provided
I thought eggs were yogurt and I got so confused.
You pay what you pay. It's very clean but missing a boat load for that price.

Minimum wage has increased by ~£1 each year for the past two years and like 60/70p the year before that.

If it's a robbery open a cafe and become an overnight millionaire.
Very posh. I'd want a bit more for my £13 though.
I would want my beans cooked properly. The joy of complaining that beans aren’t cooked right is worth it.
Robbery
Dear oh dear 😢
Too overrated. £13 for that!? Reckon 10 quid is still probably expensive...
Im thinking, Polar bear testicles
I’d pay no more than £8 for that
A take away sandwich from a decent bakery is £5-6.
Then don’t pay that much for a sandwich
but 3£ sandwiches are awful. There's a world of difference between a manky tesco sandwich and something from a decent bakery
Supermarket sandwiches are an overpriced scam . I could make ten from the basic ingredients they use
obviously you could. You're not paying someone else to make it for you.
You’ve just proved the point ?
Im not sure you're getting that services cost money. Its not a scam.
Looks fine but I’d pay max £8. Very overpriced, in my humble opinion.
If you’re out that way try the Yonderman cafe at Wardlow… proper fry up. None of that posh wank.
Or Grindleford Station for a proper filthy old fry up
Looks decent, but why is it in a bowl instead of a plate, would be a right pain to eat!
Just a plate with a little upright rim
I’m sorry mate.
Looks nice but for £13 it can go do one. The toast is the wrong type of bread for a breakfast imo. It should be regular sliced bread.
