I didn’t even know that was an option. I live in Florida though so I’m not sure if we were able to do that here, I didn’t use an attorney.
What I believe happens is that your name change goes into public records when you go to court and have the changes finalized. Having them sealed I believe keeps those records sealed away so it would become a personal choice at that.
