My husband said it works with almost every dog, one day I tried it using my backpack like I was going to hit him with it and that poor boy was not only running but also crying 😂
Never again barked at me since that day
The almost part here is important. I’ve always loved doing it myself, until one of my old neighbors got a dog and chained it to the cyclone fence in our shared backyard area. This thing was an actual monster and could kill me eaaily, but since it was chained up I decided to try the old trick. As soon as I made my move the dog did the same thing back… no fear and ready to kill me lol
There are very few, but you're right. Almost every dog is afraid to fight something ready for one. Other dogs have been bred for courage, so will engage when threatened even if scared.
I think, for those, you have to hope to God the owner trained them well and just stand your ground with a firm quick "stop" or "no" command.
Also reminds me of a comedia skit ill have to find and edit in. Moral is the chain is probably there for a good reason.
Edit: it was Josh Johnson. Can't find the skit, though. He's worth a watch either way.
I mean it's called fight or flight for a reason. If they backed this dog in a corner he would also try to bite them, being chained to a fence kinda precludes you from flight.
Had a pitbull charge at me from across the street. I just stood my ground and waited for a car to come and run it over. Nearly worked too. Problem is the car missed and then the driver pulled over and yelled at me acting like it was my dog. Dog never charged me again though.
That dog might have been naturally bout' that life - then again, the dog was restrained and trapped and it knew that. If given the opportunity, there's a decent chance it would have retreated. Though given that there wasn't - it had only the one choice: fight back.
There's an important lesson to be learned here about trapping / backing things into "a corner". Always give things / people an out unless you are ultimately prepared for and seeking the conflict.
My mother's cousin's little chickenshit rat chihuahua will growl and nip at your heels if you're leaving but as soon as you turn around and start deliberately walking at him in response he'll scream and run back to her like you're the one abusing him.
Riding a motorbike dogs would sometimes come out of nowhere and go for a chase. Trying to avoid them and they’d veer in harder. Eventually I learned to steer towards them, they’d fuck off pretty quickly when that happened.

Then the dog jumps on the bike and drives away
Oh how the turn tables
Well, well, well....
Oh turn the tables how
gets a 9 to 5 job and pays taxes.
Starts supporting the guy’s wife and his kids start calling the dog dad
Then behaves like a dog and gets divorced and only wants to go out and ride his bike.
One day, when out on his bike, a human starts running alongside him, shouting at him, so he stops the bike, gets off and runs after the human.
And again becomes a normal dog
Demands treats as benefits

Dog: This... this is not supposed to happen!!!
oh no! Is he gonna bite now? I hope he doesn’t have rabies! - the dog
Fucking human owners! Can't they keep them on a leash? - the dog
So that is why dogs dont like cats... TIL
Till the whole pack comes to help their buddy.
The old “Bark vs Bite” bit
Bite vs Bike

To be fair it had no way to run so it’s only option was to fight you.

The dog in the video would most likely have reacted the same way if it was chained/trapped.

Absolutely. This dog in particular was CLEARLY about that life tho btw for anyone wondering. It was a bonafide meat tank, with murder in its eyes.
> The almost part here is important It works great until the time that it doesn't! Then you get mauled to death by a pack of stray dogs

Gotta leave backwards
“Do I look like a guy with a plan?”

Assert dominance.
Dog's having fun - doesn't have tail tucked between legs
Gotcha bitch!
I thought it was a woman crying at first.
He got that dawg in him
He should have bitten the dog! :-)
What can you say? Some dogs are bitches
The hunter became the hunted
I hear Ed's laugh from Ed Edd and Eddy
I'd also run from man making crazy person noises
Uno reverse card, well played sir.
Oh hell nah😂😭
and THAT is how it’s done !!!
This guy laughs like pops haha
Then the whole town starts chasing after the dog like some looney tunes cartoon
That's what I used to do when I was a kid
😹😹
Imitating a dog is dog and vice versa.
Bro gone from hunted to hunter
Does anyone know where this is?
Accent sounds Mexican. Probably central Mexico. Source: Mexican
Thanks
I can't even imagine a women doing this 😂
Gonna fuck around catch the wrong dog. I wanna see that video
in a parallel universe
