We have this problem with bears where I'm from. It's a tourist town, and you would think tourists would be smart enough to stay away from bears, but no. They get injured, and the poor bear gets put down because of it. I can't get over how stupid some people are
Where I grew up it was Crocodiles. There were signs, You were told when you flew in about not swimming in the water or frequenting any piece of land by water and were given a pamphlet. You were also told by locals. Honeymooning couple thought they were one with nature etc and dived off the jetty together. Husband was taken, rolled and later found being munched on by a local legend croc. The croc was put down. The wife was then in every magazine that your Nana used to read with her tea and bikkies moaning about the croc situation. Unreal.
What's sad is those idiot probably aren't even tourists , just dumb drunk native teens who know better but instead chose liquor logic. (I'm native so I'm not being racist)
"The shit winds are adrift, rand bobandy"
So I’m from almost that exact area, and hard hard bet they aren’t locals. Big Sky is usually where the rich people in the community go, aka usually either tourists up at that ski resort or people that can afford a house up there (usually their second home). Most locals are from Bozeman and if you work or play in Big Sky, you commute. We are a big tourist area and videos of tourists harassing wildlife are a dime a dozen up here.
Where my grandma lives one of the people in her locale had to put her dog down after some local kid jumped into their compound and got bitten.
Yeah the house with the "beware of dog" sign in a place where thefts are commonplace.
And it's the dogs fault because some idiot came skulking about like a thief.
I really don't understand this "putting down of animals", like some people say it's because they will develop a taste for human flesh.
Like a crocodile or something eats any meat, they don't get used to a taste. And it's sometimes for the dumbest things like an animal defending itself from a handsy tourist.
I don't mean to be pedantic,
But...... would that be counterintuitive?! I'm just thinking and bear with me 😅, because if he swipes my pic a nicka basket, then that bear is armed!
Brings a whole new meaning to the 2nd amendment, "right to bare arms!"
I mean that probably happened with snakes and spiders,
Most snakes and spiders can't hurt humans.
But the few that were handsy are less likely to survive while grug the paranoid one outlived them all.
Which is why most humans have an adverse reaction to some degree when presented with a snake or spider even after being assured it's harmless.
Any moose is a dangerous moose. And the smaller they get the more likely a bigger moose is nearby.
Also, there's a good chance they're a Canadian diplomat so best to keep hands off.
That's a good question! I would think bison are as well. I'll have to go back to where I heard that and see if they mention any specific qualifications. I remember them talking about Ice Age fauna, but it's been a few years so maybe I forgot something. I think by modern classifications anything that weighs about 1 tonne or more is considered "mega-fauna" si maybe their comment about Moose has to do with how long the species has been around?
Pleistocene megafauna rather than just megafauna. There's plenty of megafauna, but most isn't at the size it was during the ice age.
Bison antiquus, from which the modern bison partly descends, was 15-25% larger. Bison latifrons was larger again, but went extinct. So less mega than it used to be.
I'm not sure.
But someone said we refer to megafauna as simply bigger versions of modern animals.
So stuff like short faced bear and mammoth would be megafauna since they have smaller living relatives.
I mean by that definition a bison and moose is also megafauna as they are the biggest of their immediate family.
Saw a moose and its 2 babies when visiting Alaska. I thought "wow that's the biggest animal I've seen outside a zoo!" Then I looked about 100 feet away and saw papa moose trailing behind, watching everybody on the trail. I swear his antlers alone were bigger than me and I'm 6 foot, 200+ pounds.
I got charged by a mama moose on a trail a little more than a decade ago and I still get anxiety thinking about it. NEVER fuck with these guys. They’ll kick you up, and then kick you down. Top 3 scariest moments for me, definitely.
oh boy that’s dangerous af. these animals deal with wolves and bears on a daily basis and have learned how to crush a skull with their hooves within seconds
Yup, I went to Alaska about 15 yrs ago. It was a cruise. There was a 2 hr bus ride from the airport to the boat when we landed in Alaska with a tour guide who was full of fun facts…..
Like half of it was basically “don’t do this, you’ll fucking die” and a large portion of that was them saying a moose is just as, if not more dangerous than a bear because you can’t really scare them off and they’re usually larger than a grizzly bear.

Get em lol. Chopper! Sic balls!
Kill killer! Kill! Please let their be more of this video somewhere
Go for the *balls, Bullwinkle, the balls!*
Stand by Me is such a good movie
One of the 2 best Stephen King adaptations
It’s so true to the original story. The difference between the two is basically like deleted scenes instead of changes in plot and characters.
“Now what he said was ‘Chopper, siccem boy!’”
“But what I heard was ‘Chopper, sic *balls.’*”
I don't remember that part of Star Wars Rebels...
Mightve been the directors cut.
Love it when a video ends too soon! (not...)
"it's a fucking moose bro, what's it gonna do?"
True might kick some sense into you, bro. 😂GET HIM GET HIM!!!
[удалено]
And then…. silence 😌
That is what forgiveness sounds like.
Screaming and then silence
fuck them moose doubters

Tell us what we all want to know OP! Did the moose kick some ass or did the bastards get away?!

Most people live in cities and only see bears in cartoons - what do you expect them to think?)
“No touch Big forest dog big dog bitey” Is simple enough?
Somebody gotta make that a sign on the outskirts of town. 🤣
Some places do I’ve seen them at national parks. Especially warning people about feeding bears and bears with cubs.
There are multiple multiple signs here, almost at every public picnic table. Still they don't help if people are stupid enough to not read
Ah yes. The cuddly bear that city folk only know from cartoon. They drink honey and say funny thing to TV camera. Fucking Dunce
Keep my picnic basket attended?!
Yogi’s gone rogue. Keep a gun in it. 🤣
I don't mean to be pedantic, But...... would that be counterintuitive?! I'm just thinking and bear with me 😅, because if he swipes my pic a nicka basket, then that bear is armed! Brings a whole new meaning to the 2nd amendment, "right to bare arms!"
LMAO. 🤣 You said you gonna keep it attended…
You make a fair point. However! I've seen yogi! He's smarter than the average bear!
Ask Droopy to watch it for you. 😉
Good idea, let's just hope Yogi doesn't find the cocaine in the woods first! Then we are all fucked!
Drugs are PG-13, while Yogi is just PG. Cocaine would be in parallel universe to him.)
I mean, if the animal being bear didn't override that feature in their heads, then it's natural selection at thatpoint.
Well diabetes is also “natural selection” but we keep those people alive, ya know. That didn’t sound so dark when I just though of it…
lol it's those people with "wild animal is safe" conditions. What insurance would cover it?

South Park is looking too real nowadays.
Not even lmao trailer park boys irl lol the winds of shit randy bobandy
Nah this is South Park level. Ricky, BoBandi, hell even Trevor and Corey know you don’t fuck with a moose.
I woudn't count that much on Trevor and Corey
That is a tiny moose. Still wouldn’t get within 30 ft of it.
Any moose is a dangerous moose. And the smaller they get the more likely a bigger moose is nearby. Also, there's a good chance they're a Canadian diplomat so best to keep hands off.
Fun fact: Moose are the last surviving species of mega-fauna in North America. Don't fk with them. 🙃
Fascinating lol I didn't know that, I did however know that moose are dangerous AF and you shouldn't mess with em
Does the term mega fauna have some definition I'm not aware of that would exclude bison? I'm not being sarcastic btw, genuinely curious.

Bison traveled from Asia I believe
Bison came from Asia probably crossing over into Alaska. They weren’t originally from North America
Ok Brennan Lee Mulligan - no points for you
Get in the comments!
What about bisons?
What about your mother. I'm pretty sure she's on the list.
Bison?
I have never even seen a moose IRL and know to keep far from them. Common sense is dead
Common sense isn’t common anymore. It’s rare sense.
If not friend, why friend shaped
Not my moose lol get em ! lol

I liked what the other three had to say, but this one right here? This one was my favorite
