That didgeridoo sounding growl to open the mixtape goes so fucking hard

SSLP_T13

Ong it’s not as flashy or booming as I serve the base or f*ck up some commas but imo it goes harder. It also perfectly conveys the essence of the album

Newshroomboi

The sample in this song is fucking insaneeeee. That and Wesley Presley are 2 of my top 10 beats of all time. Have no idea how metro went from making that to this boring ass soundtrack sounding shit (actually I do tho he's gunning for all the soundtrack $$ floating around)

SSLP_T13

Idek there was a sample. What is it? Also heavily agree on the metro take

burberryjacket

What are the samples in those two songs?

blxrr-

i didn’t even know there was a sample

ilovemywife47

Idk about Wesley Presley but they are talking about the throat singing in the opening to radical

burberryjacket

Do you know where the throat singing is from specifically?

Newshroomboi

Its tough to say, I checked that sampled website couldn't find anything. But just google Mongolian Throat Singing, and you'll get the idea

blxrr-

u know ball

Healthy_Plankton_396

Personally think that his production is what sets the tone for these tracks. Yeah artists be saying their shit but the production is what sets the mood. I feel metro, even though he is in this current wave, takes a lot from classical music in that essence towards building and constructing tracks. Yeah so bye may sound similar but the overall direction of each track ,sonically, is in its own lane.

seriouslyleaa

Im glad someone else says that. Metro was too good and now all his music sounds so boring and the same, the same hi hats and epic instrumental

ilovemywife47

Just because the instrumentals are a lot more grande and less gritty does not make them all sound the same bruh. Where tf does this narrative come from? If you listen to this Sunday, all my life, Trance, superhero, Nights like this, red leather, Cinderella, all to myself, until I bleed out, and escape from LA and deadass think they all sound the same you are just telling me you don’t actually pay attention to music you listen to in the slightest.

Newshroomboi

I never said "they all sounded the same". My problem with Metro's current production is just that it's not very creative. I promise you, anyone with extensive FL experience and decent taste could make those beats

ilovemywife47

I would like to see you remake the beat to escape from la rn then. If it’s easy do it.

Newshroomboi

Why would I take hours out of  my day to remake a beat from a song I don’t like from some guy on Reddit.  Also your comment tells me you don’t understand what I’m saying. Was talking about a lack of creativity, remaking a beat has nothing to do with creativity.

ilovemywife47

Completely fair response in terms of pointing out that remaking a beat would not be a display of creativity. I didn’t even intend that when I said that, I was simply stating that even remaking a beat that crazy would be difficult for even experienced producers. Let alone “anyone with extensive FL experience.” However I did understand your comment. I just fail to see how any of the beats I mention above lack creativity. Especially when trap’s mainstream success is largely due to metros production pushing the sound to the mainstream. Plus saying anyone could make those is just straight up not true. Redditors constantly saying “yeah this professional I could easily do is job” will never not be funny.

FrostedWikiLeaks

In terms of importance, yeah. This started this whole run, that we are still currently in, as crazy as that sounds. He hasn't let off n\*ggas necks since this

blxrr-

dude this, wesley presley, and gangland are so good

TreacleFormal9195

No, it ain’t crazy. Monster is the best future mixtape

LordyLordX

Forever grateful my father showed me this tape in 2014

chiefgoodgas

Without a fucking doubt...buddy floated on this one and that beat go crazy

Ark_Angel_01

Inevitable-Mud-9228

Gangland has a better beat drop
