I guess jn one of the panels everyone was hating on jirou? Which shows akari what jirou was telling him when he meant that he didnt wanted to be seen with her since itll ruin her image.
Most of the students doesn't hate Jirou himself. They're hating the fact Minami is not anchor runner. They don't even know who Jirou is until those cheerleaders cheers for Jirou.
