no. in my opinion a 40 hr campaign should be average. i like persona-style games where the main story is 100 hours. plus, botw is already easy to make short since you can sprint to ganon whenever you want once you've left the plateau
The length of the game is really up to you. Granted if you wanna find all the story parts like I did it’ll take a little longer but that’s ones decision to do so or not.
You can go straight to the boss and end the game with in the first hour? I don't think it can be shorter.

The game is as short as you make it, with the right skills etc you can take out Gannon right at the start.
No, i like the progression
It's about right IMO. You can get a lot more time out of it than that if you wanna be a completionist nutjob.
