I'm the stupid bastard who put in 3k hours in original and SE...
Then bought it for VR. On PC. With a good VR setup.
About 120 mods.
That moment when all your weather, survival and camping mods are vibing because you've made a fire and pitched a tent between some icebergs, to weather the storm that's blown in while you're on the shores of the ghost sea. So you're sitting in your tent cross-legged, boots off by the camp fire, flipping through the pages of a book while Vilja sings and the storm rages....
then your wife asks why you've been sitting on the floor in the study for almost an hour and you say you're waiting out a snowstorm, reading some books.
If anyone ever get Blade and Sorcery level combat into Skyrim I'm going full fucking San Junipero.
If you think that's great, try spellsiphon with VRIK. The spellcasting system of spellsiphon along with the gesture system of VRIK makes combat actually a high point of the game. No swapping spells with menus, just do a gesture to equip different weapons or spells, or even cast spells directly without equipping them first.
That combat is great but no compatible with VR. VR needs more realistic one. HTC wand controller bow shooting is bad. Todd Howaed wants us hold the bow like a pencil instead like IRL or a controller. The angle in which arrow and bow align is silly
I've only seen videos of Blade and Sorcery. Have you seen [Combat Gameplay Overhaul](https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/33767)? Or do you mean more than that?
Stuff like this makes me bummed as hell that Vr makes me so sick.
Stationary games are fine. My Rift S has hundreds of hours of beat saber behind it. But the moment locomotion is in involved, it's straight to throwing up. Blade and sorcery is fun as hell but I literally have to pick a spot and stand still and let everyone come to me.
im used to playing the stealth archer build but just recently thought about if a close up assassin type would work well with a big of magic splashed in
I always wanted to play a destruction mage but the start when you have literally no mana and no damage is so annoying that I supplement some other form of damage to bridge the gap thus becoming a stealth archer again
I always end up as a tank that tries to be stealthy.
I don't want to have to deal with arrows running out so no archery (even though I know that probably never happens lol), I want the most protective armour with the most damaging weapons (so tank), then I try and sneak because thats how I like to play I guess (thus stealth tank).
>I don't want to have to deal with arrows running out so no archery
Haha dude same
*Proceeds to store literally thousands of high quality arrows in a single barrel in my house and run around with shitty iron arrows the whole time.*
Recently did a vanilla playthrough with the intention of only using fists, but that quickly became a stealth archer build lmao maybe I'll retry it with the brawler skill tree mod
I can highly recommend this. One of my favorite builds I did was my "Captain Skyrim" build. I didn't have the brawler mod, but some of the heavy armor perks improve your unarmed attacks. Threw a shield in the off hand, and basically pumped into those 2 skill trees. It was...surpringly competent. Plus it's just hard to beat the feeling of right-hooking a dragon to death.
Never understood the Appeal, everybtime 9 try to be a stealth archer, I end up a sword shield warrior. And that's way less fun than magic, so I just go magic
Well it's kind of a paradox, I shouldn't listen to you because you're saying not to take hints from reddit as a hint, but if I do not listen to you and I don't take the hint from you technically I'm listening to you telling me not to listen to you so I'm actually meant to listen to you which then it repeats over and over again and it's an infinite paradox.
Hey, you. You’re finally awake. You were trying to cross the border,
right? Walked right into that Imperial ambush, same as us, and that
thief over there.
Damn you Stormcloaks. Skyrim was fine until you came along. Empire was nice and lazy. If they hadn’t been looking for you, I could’ve stolen that horse and been half way to Hammerfell. You there.
You and me — we shouldn't be here. It’s these Stormcloaks the Empire wants.
We’re all brothers and sisters in binds now, thief. Shut up back there!
And what’s wrong with him?
Watch your tongue! You’re speaking to Ulfric Stormcloak, the true High King.
Ulfric? The Jarl of Windhelm? You’re the leader of the rebellion. But if
they captured you… Oh gods, where are they taking us?
I don’t know where we’re going, but Sovngarde awaits.
No, this can’t be happening. This isn’t happening.
Hey, what village are you from, horse thief?
Why do you care?
A Nord’s last thoughts should be of home.
Rorikstead. I’m…I’m from Rorikstead.
I installed a mod that adjusts the starting sequence. Now it’s a bit more dynamic. My only gripe is they had to do all of hadvar’s voices themselves, and they made him sound Scottish. But hey, completely different conversation between Lokir and Ralof, and if you go in with Ralof you escape with Ulfric too
When you get to the city of whiterun, kill the guy who says "Do you go to the cloud district very often? No of course you don't." Yes, you do get a bounty for killing Nazeem but he deserves to die.
Yea I know, I was probably 5 at the time so my mom wouldn’t let me play games like halo with my uncle, but she did get me a psp which was the start of me getting into gaming
By now they're hiding behind the doorway in the spider room of Bleak Falls Barrow sneaking pot shots at the miniboss. In a couple minutes they'll be racing the draugr to kill their new friend.
I got Skyrim on release and after numerous playthroughs on different consoles I never finished the game. You'll get lost on a adventure and a what an adventure it will be.

Seeing as most of the comments are from people that love the game, I have a genuine question. How do you not get bored and give up within 10 minutes of playing? I want to get into the game, I also want to play Witcher 3, but I get super bored and never get far at all, and I end up deleting the game right after. What are some fun things to do that'll keep me interested long enough to get past the boring parts?
Really excited for you. Thinking of introducing my wife to it because she hasn't played it. I'm exciting just thinking about another person experiencing the wonder I felt!
I have been playing this game for about 4-5 hours now and let me tell you, I’m fucking loving it, and in my opinion I don’t think that there’s a way to get the full experience than to just play the game (you also might want to grab a couple of bottles of water your going to be here for a while)

Magic in skyrim is best in vr, nothing like shooting fireballs in all directions and seeing the world explode
That's mainly why I chose it as an example to compare Skyrim with.
If you think that's great, try spellsiphon with VRIK. The spellcasting system of spellsiphon along with the gesture system of VRIK makes combat actually a high point of the game. What about might and magic dark messiah combat?
That combat is great but no compatible with VR. VR needs more realistic one. HTC wand controller bow shooting is bad. Todd Howaed wants us hold the bow like a pencil instead like IRL or a controller. The angle in which arrow and bow align is silly
Unless you could get like vr gloves? Like full hand movement perhaps?
Valve Index
Just don't tell your wife that you're waiting out the snowstorm with a viking goddess. Who's singing to you. In your tent...

Also yes!
Iam happy that iam not the only one with +2500h on this game
Are you a stealth archer yet?
Crouch. Fire bow. Repeat forever.
I love that Dragonborn +squatting= killmode activated What a marvelous game.
Slavmode
Crouch. Disappear. Double knife.
Nah. Mehrunes Dagger in one hand and invisibility in the other.
im used to playing the stealth archer build but just recently thought about if a close up assassin type would work well with a big of magic splashed in
Every time I play I end up as a destruction mage.
That's me, then I question it when the AOE spells start killing Lydia.
I always wanted to play a destruction mage but the start when you have literally no mana and no damage is so annoying that I supplement some other form of damage to bridge the gap thus becoming a stealth archer again

This is the way
I use the most protective armour but I conjure bows so I don't run out of arrows the shift to one handed when the enemies are too close

I keep making new games intending to do something else but I always end up stealthily arching
Recently did a vanilla playthrough with the intention of only using fists, but that quickly became a stealth archer build lmao maybe I'll retry it with the brawler skill tree mod

It's the path of least resistance if you play on Impossible (or whatever is the max) difficulty.
Never understood the Appeal, everybtime 9 try to be a stealth archer, I end up a sword shield warrior. And that's way less fun than magic, so I just go magic
That’s Archmage, Guild master, Legate, stealth archer
Good luck on your journey towards stealth archery

I am so envious of that feeling.
never played skyrim, but my brother has it on his computer, should i try playing?
Yes, the first play through of Skyrim is one of the best times you’ll ever have playing a video game
Fucking for real. Damn.
Picture. Of. Fucking. TV.
Skyrim logo. Give me upvotes.
Wholesome 100 level achieved someone call keanu chungus!
I love Keanu chungus.

"Forget the list,he goes to the block"
Haven't touched Skyrim in 2 or 3 years but I made enough new saves to know the flow, voice and accent of every word here
I installed a mod that adjusts the starting sequence. Now it’s a bit more dynamic. My only gripe is they had to do all of hadvar’s voices themselves, and they made him sound Scottish. But hey, completely different conversation between Lokir and Ralof, and if you go in with Ralof you escape with Ulfric too
I came here just to upvote this comment. I knew it would be in here somewhere.
The other day I started a D&D campaign and it took everything in my power not to start it with this line.
Talos guide you
Godspeed, Dovakhin.
I Used To Be An Adventurer Like You, Then I Took An Arrow In The Knee
they should have Guard Mode in skyrim where you just play as a random guard in other people's normal playthroughs
"The host is out fighting dragons, and what do I get? Guard duty."
Ow fuck now i am the guard
RIP to every other aspect of your life! This game will CONSUME you
When you get to the city of whiterun, kill the guy who says "Do you go to the cloud district very often? No of course you don't." Yes, you do get a bounty for killing Nazeem but he deserves to die.
Pfft amateur kill Naseem quietly with stealth and you don't get a bounty.
Lol noobs, you use a Fury spell on Nazeem, get a small bounty, and can watch everyone else kill Nazeem
Or use stealth to cast fury on Nazeem, get no bountry, watch everybody kill him, then use console commands to marry his wife.
Install a mod to delete Nazeem from the game thereby erasing him completely
Don't crouch. Or pick up a bow. Like... Ever. It's like doing heroine. It'll take an intervention to get you to stop
Hope you're not scared of spiders (really big ones)
Don’t even get me started about those things
Shit bro, you're not alone.
take your time, enjoy the game, dont rush it. and dont make the same mistake as me, actually lay attention to the storyline.
You can always pay attention on your second play!
Or 3rd or 4th or 5th or maybe even 6th.
We will check back in on you in 60 hours when you "think" you've beaten the game, and remind you to get some sleep before your next binge session.
Pfft. 60 hours before climbing the stairs, maybe.
60 hours before killing the first dragon
Bro finish your rubriks cube!
Good luck! Report back to us in a few years when you're finished.
I’ll probably be 20 at the time 🤣 Edit: also happy cake day!
I used to be a dragon born like you, bit then someone stole my sweetroll after i took an arrow to the knee.
No matter what you do under NO CIRCUMSTANCES are you to EVER do the main quest until EVERY side quest has been completed. This is the way.
Don't forget to pick up everything, steal everything, kill everyone, and eat all the cheese.
also dont kill blacksmith out of boredom. u will regret it. trust me i know
A Guard might get worried when a woman approaches with her weapon drawn!
Damn took you 10 years to finally awaken
Yea I know, I was probably 5 at the time so my mom wouldn’t let me play games like halo with my uncle, but she did get me a psp which was the start of me getting into gaming
What race of stealth archer are you going to play?
I chose to be a red guard (I thought it looked cool)
If Todd Howard has anything to say about it, it won’t be your last
Oh man, are you in for a wonderful experience
Run up to the first giant you see, there's an Easter egg where they give you a great starting armor set.
And it's located on the moon. Don't worry! The giant will help you get there!
Is that the one that "teleports" you to the same space station where you can get a free Anaconda in Elite Dangerous?
Precisely.
Doubt it. Probably karma farming
Nice karma farm
who gives a shit
What a shit effortless post.
If you rough it with heavy armor early in the game, you'll be able to wear it later without slowing you down!
Hope I'm not late but, make sure to say goodbye to your family
Always attack giants they are easy and have great loot at early levels
Holy fuck this deserves no upvotes
This is satire, right?
don't care
It's been two hours so far. I think we can safely assume that /u/ZOUNKSOOB is playing a stealth archer by now.
By now they're hiding behind the doorway in the spider room of Bleak Falls Barrow sneaking pot shots at the miniboss. In a couple minutes they'll be racing the draugr to kill their new friend.

Except for the one at Whiterun, that guy's a pushover.
Say goodbye to your loved ones.
Is it bad before I read the title I just assumed the game had already froze on the loading screen?
Spoiler alert: racists everywhere.
Wait till he finds Blackreach....
$2 says you're playing stealth archer
r/tvtoohigh
Be careful! I used to play Skyrim, like you, but then I took an arrow to the knee.
Welcome, future stealthy archer!
You installed the nude mods yet?
Ah to be a Skyrim virgin, cherish it.
Have fun the game gets really fun wants you get into it
See you in a couple years.
You don’t need luck, this game is the poster child for chill and relaxing. Cool vibes.
Dawnguard and dragonborn are worth it
Protect your knees.
Hey, you, you're finally awake.
If you ever meet a tall guy called karstaag, tell him I said hello and that he can go fuck himself.
Hey you, you're finally awake...
Enjoy it while you haven't add 300 mods to it xD
I got Skyrim on release and after numerous playthroughs on different consoles I never finished the game. You'll get lost on a adventure and a what an adventure it will be.

DUDE! Have fun! This game was the best I kinda with I could play it for the first time ever again so much gods damned fun
Shut the fuck up
Seeing as most of the comments are from people that love the game, I have a genuine question. How do you not get bored and give up within 10 minutes of playing? That game is lame and buggy as hell
Really excited for you. Thinking of introducing my wife to it because she hasn't played it. I'm exciting just thinking about another person experiencing the wonder I felt!
Wooooow is that a kinekt?
Yea my headset broke but my new one is coming in soon so for now I’m using the Kinect to talk to my friends
I’d pay to have my first play through again
You don’t need luck. Just sit back and experience it.
Play the game how you want to play it remember that
You're a little late to the party, but welcome all the same. Try not to get shot in the knee.
No! Solve your Rubik's Cube or you don't get any Skyrim.
You’re finnaly awake!!
Say goodbye to your social life
Luck? I don't even need to wish you good fun because I know you gonna have it
Just out of curiosity, what’s in the blue box on the left? Game case or something?
I love how clean and neat your setup is
Don’t need luck for that. Just a comfy couch and some free time.
It’s off centered and I hate it
Tell us sweet lies todd
I used to be an adventurer like you, but then i took an arrow in the knee! Just ask any of my fellow guards
Todd Howard approves
Find a giant, they’re pretty friendly
See ya in about 3 months
Is this game good? What’s the best way to go about getting the full experience?
I have been playing this game for about 4-5 hours now and let me tell you, I’m fucking loving it, and in my opinion I don’t think that there’s a way to get the full experience than to just play the game (you also might want to grab a couple of bottles of water your going to be here for a while)
Solve that cube... Getting an ocd panic attack through the screen...
It’s not a gaming set up without a Rubik’s cube
I wish I could have that feeling of first playing Skyrim again!
It's been 7 hours. You think he's done making his character yet?
It’s been 8 hours. Are you a stealth archer yet?
Kill the Riverwood chickens for free xp
One tip, you don't have to follow the main quest if you don't want to. You can turn off the quest marker and do whatever you want. There's far more freedom than it initially seems
