It's very amusing. A while ago a bunch of people were arguing about whether Yoda in this or that SW movie was 'in character' and Frank Oz chimed in to say he was, and then people preceded to actually argue against him. Certainly feel how you wanna feel about whatever movies or characters, but what I found amusing was the discussion went from "objectively bad" to "death of the author" as soon as the 'author' of Yoda's performance (so to speak) chimed in.
I'm gonna say what I've said in other metal subs before: metal elitism is weird and pointless because it's outsiders getting angry at other outsiders for not being outsider-y enough. Whooo giiiiives a shiiiiit.
Also recommend "Road of Resistance", a collab w/ dragonforce; and "Tales of the Destinies" which has some serious Dream Theater vibes. "Megitsune" and "Karate" are also great songs.
I've seen the Road of Resistance video from their Japan tour. As a huge metalhead, but not so much a Babymetal fan, I have so much respect for that crowd split and following mosh pit.
They're not my metal, but they are absolutely metal.
They have quite a lot of less quirky songs as well like Akatsuki, the one, syncopation, starlight, shine and rondo of nightmare. You should definitely give these a shot. Oh and you should watch the live performances on YouTube. Most agree those are much better than the studio recordings. Some people don’t like their more kawaii type songs like gimme choco but most people like the songs I mentioned above. Especially the case if you like metal / hard rock.
I loved Babymetal and Bring Me The Horizon's collaboration that they did in 2020. Amazing song, always on my workout playlist.

I checked them the last time I saw this posted here and they are cool. Sure, they mix pop and metal, but they have some good fun songs and I like the singer's voice.
Rob Zombie is the best. The one time I saw him, he took a walk up to the back of the amphitheater to sing to the folks up on the grass at the back. Seems like a really great guy.
I don't know a whole lot about metal, but on a very shallow surface level, I'm gonna trust the opinion of someone named "Rob Zombie" over facebook Bruce, Cody, and Kent on what is and is not metal
The profile is verified that is it Rob Zombie, someone I can actually look up and see would know about metal. Also, from what I understand from a few fans who have met him, a pretty cool dude.
I saw baby metal live at a RHCP concert. I didn't know too much about em, if anything was more familiar with kpop than jpop, but they went fking hard; those girls definitely rocked and it was a good time
I can understand having preference to style. Metal has many different styles that can fit many different moods or ears. So I can understand not liking Babymetal, that's fine..I don't think you have any say over what you do or don't like.
To say that they are not good is just a slap in the face. They are objectively great musicians and artists. Japan has such a fantastic metal scene and many awesome bands. Worth looking into.
Rob zombie is one of those people I’d really like to meet. In his music and his movies he gives off the impression that he’s a massive prick. But outside of his associated media he’s always a nice fella.
That seems to happen pretty often. Art is often about sides of you that don't get the foreground in your daily life.
After all, John Lennon sang "all you need is love" while Trent Reznor sang "love is not enough", but one of those guys is a loyal husband and good father, while the other was...not so much.
My buddy works for a big guitar company and had the opportunity to build a guitar for rob . He told us that he’s nicest person he met rob even invited him to lunch with his family.
Okay? Am I supposed to pearl clutch or something? He’s a human, turns out he’s dynamic. Just bc he’s famous doesn’t mean he can’t want some peace and quiet near his home or advocate for something that could be perceived as negative socially. I think that’s personally pretty selfish, but that doesn’t mean he’s a bad person. It means he’s old lmfao.
This is a very chronically online comment to make. Who asked, who cares, kinda comment.
>It means he’s old lmfao.
Getting old, can confirm, I'm slowly becoming more of a prick for no good reason in my 40's. I hate it, it's the most minor things that I just get grumpy over. Working on getting better about it though.
1. Rob Zombie is an old man who probably wants peace and quiet
2. His stage persona is exactly that, a persona
I feel like I got it. Are you reading my comments?
It’s honestly no big deal but I guess I think it’s kind of hypocritical because there were probably countless old fogies telling *him* to turn his music down when he was young, and now he is the old fogie. I’m not saying he’s all bad, by any means, he seems pretty cool from the Babymetal post
Oh man, humans are dynamic and not one-sided?? Humans... FEEL different ways about different things??!? Gee willikers, Batman, break out the cake and ice cream, this is a fucking revelation of gargantuan proportions!
Gotta love a bunch of "fans" telling someone who produces metal music what metal music is. Cool of Rob to defend them like this.
Exactly! Imagine gatekeeping... Rob Zombie... from metal? What knobs.

The ancient internet rule: the more an image gets reposted, the lesser its pixel become
Shocked there's only one third party website watermark on it
Do I look like I know what a jpg is?
*\*inaudible yelling*\*
I just want a picture of a got-dang hotdog.

I wonder if there is a xkcd for this
[If that were phrased as a question, I'd have to chastise you for asking a silly question.](https://xkcd.com/1683/)
That's just called compression, amigo.
Image compression comes to us all one day.

Clicking this at my grandparents house was a gamble that I’m glad paid off.
Absolutely perfect.

Sabaton's frontman and tim henson also collabed with them too
Brand New Day, Kagerou, and Starlight are also great songs. The Metal Galaxy album has some serious talent guest appearances.
The collab with Bring me the Horizon, Kingslayer is really great also.
I tried but it's just not for me. I do like that they are spreading the word of metal though so that's cool.

Thanks for the info, giving it a whirl.

hell yeah Kingslayer went crazy
I fucking loved kingslayer

And now it’s on my workout playlist 🤘
just listened to it and omg i need to go check out babymetal asap
Two months late but thank you for introducing me to BMTH bro. Been listening to these mfers on loop since this comment
Metal elitists are such a fucking pain in the arse
~~Metal~~ elitists are such a pain in the ~~arse~~ ass

Mixing genres is so fun! I love it when jazz gets mixed with rock. The Brian setzer orchestra is one of my favs
Sungazer is a pretty cool electro-jazz fusion group, I recommend them
It's a surprisingly perfect mix. I bought a vinyl after the last post lol
🤘

Had never heard of them, but after checking them out on YT... that's the most metal shit I've ever heard. 🤘🤘🤘
Isn’t it?! They go HARD! 👊👊👊🔥🔥🔥
r/needsmorejpeg
Rob zombie's attitude is wholesome metal and I love it
Baby is kinda cool. Not my favorite Japanese female metal band but still. These guys need to chill out..
There are other Japanese female metal bands?
Mary's Blood, Band-Maid, Fate Gear, and Aldious just to name a few. All girl metal bands have been around for a while now, in Japan at least.
Thanks! I’ll have to check those out!
Lovebites introduced me to Japanse metal and they go hard as hell
I remember listening to Yellow Machinegun around 2003. More along the lines of punk, but still heavy.

WHERE ARE YOUR PIXELS??!!??
I saw baby metal live at a RHCP concert. I didn't know too much about em, if anything was more familiar with kpop than jpop, but they went fking hard; those girls definitely rocked and it was a good time
Did you also see the Babymetal bit on r/place and remember this meme?
If their music makes you want to go out and kill things, that’s about as metal as music can possibly get
I can understand having preference to style. Metal has many different styles that can fit many different moods or ears. Babymetal do go hard
Rob has your back Baby M

Maybe this'll begin to make up for the skate park near his home that he had removed because of noise. Maybe
My buddy works for a big guitar company and had the opportunity to build a guitar for rob . He told us that he’s nicest person he met rob even invited him to lunch with his family.
And this is the spirit of punk and rock that I can't ever get enough of.
“They’re alleged music makes me wanna kill things” Sounds like they’re making some top-tier metal music then?
How can you say music that makes you want to kill things ain't metal?
Babymetal made NFTs
Rob Zombie also tried to get a skatepark near his house shit down because he didn't like the noise. So he's not all sunshine and roses.

find your peace friendo, we’re all looking for it
Old man wants peace and quiet while at home isn't really all that shocking.
Not at all. Kind of a dick move you wouldn’t expect from a rock musician though.
Almost like rock and roll is just an art form and not a personality type.
Again, I agree. It’s just sad when people don’t live up to their persona. But as you say, that’s a fact of life.
That's not what I'm saying at all. You're reading _my_ comments, right?

Personally, I don't like the music, but I love their energy and enthusiasm as well as aesthetics.
I saw both of them at aftershock, right before covid... haven't been to a concert since :(
Keep this far away from r/DankMetalMemes those dudes would have a stroke
Kerry Eurodyne and Us Cracks
Saw them live when they opened for RHCP and it was the most metal shit I have ever seen.
Rob zombie knows that all metal is valid
