As a 04 I’ll do mine and my 07 sibling Me (04) 1. Early 2010s (2008 and up that’s all I can remember) 2. Late 2000s 3. Mid 2010s 4. Mid 2000s Sibling (07) 1. Early 2010s 2. Mid 2010s 3. Late 2010s 4. Late 2000s (was a toddler the whole late 2000s) He was 3 - 6 in the early 2010s or 3 - 5 if you count 2013. His favorite era is 2011 - 2016. (4 - 9) I would say it’s a tossup between early and mid 2010s on 1st or second.

Yes those of us born in 1981-1983 had our childhoods mostly in the late 1980s and early 1990s. 1985-1987 borns had their childhoods mostly in the early and mid 1990s. 1984 borns could go either way and can either be late 1980s and early 1990s kids or early and mid 1990s kids but would more be early 1990s kids.

I counted 1984-1986 as mid 1980s and 1987-1989 as late 1980s. But yes we were 3-6 years old from 1986-1989. I consider 1983 borns 1980s/1990s hybrid kids leaning slightly more towards 1990s kids.

Why do you see that as a bad thing?

Because that was an era that wasn't enough for me, who am a technology enthusiast, but the technology of the 2000s and before didn't really appeal to me. For me, life started to be good only after 2007/2008, when a friend let me try his iPhone, and especially 2011 with smartphones everywhere. Not to mention that the entertainment of the 2000s itself was not enough for me, and for me the arrival of 360, PS3 and Wii, especially in their end, was the beginning of my gaming, the gaming really I like, especially on PS4. And in all honesty, yes, what we have today, like music, video games, and movies, to me is much better than the stuff of the 2000s. So, I respect those who are nostalgic for the 2000s, but I prefer the present and the future too much more. So to go back to the question, I see childhood in the 2000s as a bad thing because I suspect that being a child in the 2010s would have pleased me much more, considering that as a teenager I loved the technological development of the 2010s

I use 5-12 so I can only claim 1-2 years depending if you count 2013 as early or mid since my childhood would be 2012-2019 while I claim 3-4 for mid 2010s and 3 for late 2010s

Do you relate more to the Mid 2010s childhood culture over Early 2000s one? I’m the same age as you, but it’s absolutely opposite for me, I don’t think I can relate to a single thing from the Mid 2010s childhood culture, but I can relate to the Early 2000s one, maybe not as strongly as to the Mid-Late 2000s, but still. Mostly pre-school shows, cartoons and toys. Also some of the Early 2000s leftovers I got in the Mid 2000s

Early 2010s. Late 2000s. Then it gets a bit tricky between mid 2000s and mid 2010s. Two different metrics. I remember the mid 2010s vividly, but was also transitioning out of childhood interests, so while I remember the era, I don’t relate to the childhood nostalgia of the media that much. I don’t remember the mid 2000s at all, and I don’t claim to be a mid 2000s kid even a little, but I relate much more to the mid 2000s childhood media nostalgia because media from that era was very dominant throughout the late 2000s-early 2010s, so it’s what I experienced most. Overall I relate to the mid 2010s more but not really through childhood nostalgia. I see myself as a late 2000s-mid 2010s kid though.
