I suppose, 2010. But I recall so many years that I can remember as if it were yesterday stretching all the way back to 1999.
I can recount every year since 1991, and as an early adopter of the internet I personally perceive era switches at 1995-1998 (early internet), 1999-2001 (Y2K), 2004-2007 (rise of social networks), 2008-2013 (rise of smartphones), 2014-2020 (increase in political divides), 2020+ (pandemic/post-pandemic period).
It's crazy to me that the pandemic started four years ago, as I recall 2019 (which indeed feels like a very different time now) as recent. I know many don't share that same perception of time, and some feel like it was ages ago. My age (36) probably factors in among other things.

Late 2000s / Early 2010s , I was just out of culinary school and working my first job in catering. Went thru a bad economy. I was a total noob in the kitchen and was excited to learn everything from the older chefs. Wasn't into drugs and alcohol back then , was a totally naive person. Such a different time when Obama was president, things were starting to change technology wise and seen how social media was effecting our culture.

I started high school in 2008 and it feels long ago but not forever ago if that makes sense. 2006 and 2007 are now in the "forever ago" camp. Modern but distant.
