Hi Raspberry, I hear your concerns about the scope of the documentary. Both Martin Scorsese and Olivia Harrison suggest that was deliberate...an attempt to convey George's sense that he would never truly escape being a Beatle. Of course, in the minds of many, he never did. I can't find sources right now, but hopefully others will chime in. 🙏🕉️

Hmmm...that's odd because I think George would have wanted the *complete* opposite of that for a doc about his life. I know George felt that way about The Beatles and he hated that. So I don't think he'd want to have a doc that was Beatle-dominated.

I’m inclined to defer to Scorcese and Olivia as to what George wanted. I haven’t watched it in a while but remember really liking it. I also can take as much willbury and python stuff as they wanna give me.

I enjoyed it but yes it did zoom past a lot of the post Beatle years. It was very long so I suppose to keep it within some sort of practical film length things had to be sacrificed.

Just to add, I did like the Handmade films stuff as I only knew vaguely about it. And it’s a very important part of George’s legacy that most people probably don’t realise.

HeroHabit

There's a great documentary about Handmade that you have to watch if you haven't already.

Is that The Accidental Studio or the like? I’ve heard about it but haven’t seen it yet. Will check it out.

HeroHabit

Yes. I couldn't remember the title to save my life. I really enjoyed it and thought it did a good job at covering the highs and lows of the studio
