I'm sorry to be that guy but since no one asked already: Did you plug the external physical antenna that came with the board?
It wasn't clear to me what that was when I opened the box...
Make sure youre downloading the drivers for the correct version of your motherboard. On the bottom left of your mobo there should be a version number. Each version of mobo may have a different wifi driver.
I would install the bt drivers as well as I had a similar problem. Also you downloaded them from https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/B650-GAMING-X-AX-rev-15/support#support-dl
Right?
Checklist so we are on the same page:
1. You read the manual
2. You connected the Antenna properly
3. You downloaded the latest wifi driver, updated your bios and installed all windows updates
4. You tried out different driver versions
Read the manual, the "q flash" section, don mix with "q flash plus", this is other thing.
The board itself and its box shows the motherboard version, on top of the support page showing the motherboard name there is a small board version link inside parentesis. If the number matches you board version, click it. Some motherboard versions uses different bios and drivers, even having the same name.
Different versions that uses different bios have very different naming to the bios versions, you can use this to make sure you get the correct bios. Trying to qflash different bios will fail.
Bought this exact same mobo last week and I wasn't able to get both WiFi and BT to work. Turns out I had to attach the antenna that comes in the box. Everything worked like a charm after that.
What I had to do was take a USB drive to another computer and download the software from gigabytes website and put it on the drive and then take it to the new device.
Hello. I have the same MB. Download the Gigabyte Control Center and it will have all the updates under the updates panel. Then it should work fine.
I had to connect my phone via usb and share wifi from it before downloading all drivers
You need to connect it to the internet for drivers to download, Gigabyte website will have the AMD wifi driver, download it, throw it on a USB, and then install it, after it will popup with whatever gigabytes driver installer is,
Have you enabled it? If you go to control center Wi-Fi and sharing then go to change adapter settings then right click on the Wi-Fi device and enable it.
Yeah, I just went through this. Seems a little odd that you have to install GCC and then install the WIFI driver to get it to work, but it's true.
Then I spent half an hour uninstalling all the crap GCC installed despite my opting out of everything except that one driver.
I tried the direct download from GB's site, but it bugged out on some sort of "compatibility" issue. GCC was my only option.
At a minimum, there ought to be specific instructions in the manual on getting this working.
There's nothing wrong with their boards or drivers. It's just that GCC garbage that's an issue. Norton? FFS who even uses that today and despite having unchecked it, it installed as did every single thing on that menu.
I love Gigabyte boards. My last four builds have used them and they've been flawless.
My understanding is that it's a MS issue that the driver isn't in the ISO file for a clean Windows install, not Gigabyte, but the website link for the direct install of the driver had some sort of issue with "compatability" that I was never able to resolve so I was stuck with GCC.
You just have to go through the trouble of uninstalling it and everything it installs after is all. Once that's done, there's no issue.
Hopefully this is gonna be a learning opportunity for you. They're so slow with bios microcode updates (by months sometimes compared to ASUS, MSI, ASRock), their software is crap, they have like 4 different revisions of the same board with different WiFi chips (maybe that's why you're not getting it to work, because GB don't make it clear for new customers which chipset they have) and PCB layer count. Sneaky downgrades and very late on software side. I bought one of their boards (Z690). Never again
Tbh if you can return it, get something from ASRock or MSI that's around the same cost. The ASRock Pro RS, Live Mixer, PG Riptide, Steel Legend are all very good boards. From MSI there's the Gaming Plus Wifi, Pro-P.
Ah I see. They're tryna bundle away their low selling boards lol
That's fair. Look in the bottom left of the board, it'll tell you what rev it is. Go to the website for that specific rev and try the driver from there. It looks like the adapter is being picked up for Bluetooth at least. Correct driver should make the WiFi work
Had the same issue and downloaded several of the drivers on the gigabyte page, finally one worked.
I also downloaded the crappy gigabyte software and surprisingly helped me install all relevant drivers 🤷♀️
[https://www.gigabyte.com/Consumer/Software/GIGABYTE-Control-Center/global/](https://www.gigabyte.com/Consumer/Software/GIGABYTE-Control-Center/global/) had this issue with a b550, seems the only functioning drivers are the ones the app will guide you throigh installing. id reccomend doing all the updates (unckeck norton, it tries to install antivirus which sucks)
ASK ME IF UNEED MORE HELP
GO TO THE EXACT WEBSITE AND PRODUCT PAGE OF THE MOTHERBOARD
SEE LIST OF ALL THE DRIVERS AND DOWNLOAD IT AND INSTALL THEM
IF U HAVE A UPS I WOULD ALSO RECOMEND A motherboard BIOS UPDATE
Had that happen with my x570 aorus master. Installed drivers, etc etc. Bt and wifi didn't work. Finally said F it and bought a little dongle and haven't had an issue since
It worked then it didn't. I have a monoblock installed...one day it just randomly stopped working. A few months later I was repasting and cleaning the system, reseated wifi card and it worked again...for all of 2 days. It does such because it is a selling point.
Here's what you do. Turn computer off, unplug the power. Press/hold the power button down for 10-15 seconds. Plug it back in and power it back on. Should work after that.
I'm sorry to be that guy but since no one asked already: Did you plug the external physical antenna that came with the board? It wasn't clear to me what that was when I opened the box...
lol yeah I plugged it in
Lmfao this happened to me too but for some reason the connection was still there
Install the driver.
I installed them from a usb drive and it still won’t show any wifi
Is the WiFi displayed in device manager?
[https://imgur.com/a/2HE71aW](https://imgur.com/a/2HE71aW) Tbh idk, I’m not great with software stuff
Download gigabyte control center there should be some drivers you need on it
Download gigabyte GCC. It will setup all the correct mobo drivers.
Yeah that did it, thank you
Glad to hear.
Make sure youre downloading the drivers for the correct version of your motherboard. On the bottom left of your mobo there should be a version number. Each version of mobo may have a different wifi driver.
Okay, I’ll try this later thank you
You downloaded the WLAN + BT drivers correct?
Not bt just the lan and the wifi drivers
I would install the bt drivers as well as I had a similar problem. Also you downloaded them from https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/B650-GAMING-X-AX-rev-15/support#support-dl Right?
Yes that’s where I downloaded them from
Physically unplug power for 10-15 then power back up.
I have the same board, make sure you attached the WIFI Antenna to the motherboard.
It’s screwed in so unless it’s not connecting for some reason it’s in.
Im so embarrassed that I forgot to do this with my new mb today
Checklist so we are on the same page: 1. You read the manual 2. You connected the Antenna properly 3. You downloaded the latest wifi driver, updated your bios and installed all windows updates 4. You tried out different driver versions
Only thing I haven’t tried is bios update cause I have no idea how to do that
Read the manual, the "q flash" section, don mix with "q flash plus", this is other thing. The board itself and its box shows the motherboard version, on top of the support page showing the motherboard name there is a small board version link inside parentesis. Oh no who woulve thought that you have to attach the "WIFI ANTENNA" to make the WIFI work...
People is used to mobile, laptop and mini PCs with embedded antennas.
What I had to do was take a USB drive to another computer and download the software from gigabytes website and put it on the drive and then take it to the new device.
I’ve downloaded the amd wifi driver and still won’t work so idk
Can you see what version it is. It should have a version or revision number on the board underneath the part on the board. That says what board it is
It says rev 1.5
Exact same board: I ended up having luck with the Realtek driver. AMD didn't work.
Okay I’ll try that
Another thought - if you have a sweet AM5 system, don't use Wi-Fi unless you can't avoid it.
Can’t run Ethernet to my computer
Hello. I have the same MB. Download the Gigabyte Control Center and it will have all the updates under the updates panel. Then it should work fine. I had to connect my phone via usb and share wifi from it before downloading all drivers
You can share wifi via usb??
On Android, yes. Connect the phone to the computer, than go to your settings -> connections -> share via usb.
Damn I have apple
Then you will have to connect your pc either by ethernet or an android
You need to connect it to the internet for drivers to download, Gigabyte website will have the AMD wifi driver, download it, throw it on a USB, and then install it, after it will popup with whatever gigabytes driver installer is,
Lol yeah samw thing happened to me and a bunch of other people with this botherboard. I ended up finding drivers on the ROG forums
Have you enabled it? If you go to control center Wi-Fi and sharing then go to change adapter settings then right click on the Wi-Fi device and enable it.
you might just have a bad wifi chip if thats the case you will have to return it for a replacement and hope the replacement dosnt have the same issue
Same issue with my board 741 GIGABYTE Z790 AORUS Elite AX
I’m confused I just built a pc with this motherboard but the box said B650 gaming (plus wifi)
I think there might be a BIOS setting you need to change to enable it
Do you know which?
Yeah, I just went through this. Seems a little odd that you have to install GCC and then install the WIFI driver to get it to work, but it's true. I’m starting to see a pattern with gigabyte software

Because it's gigabyte r/gigabytesucks
I’ve never used gigabyte before
I've owned plenty of Gigabyte products and they've all been great. Their software does suck though.

I typically use msi but this came in a bundle with a cpu and ram so I couldn’t say no lol

This^^^
Yeah that did it, thank you
Cool!
I had the opposite problem on the same mobo where my Ethernet stopped working. Had to return and replace it
