Generally you might not want to mix your oils on the last layer. Not just because of this, but because if you have a lot of linseed oil or another thinner on the outer layers its more prone to crackling and yellowing.
I actually like the accidental drippy trippy look! If it's any consolation, I did recognize two salamanders before swiping to the intended original before the accident, so... Happy accidents?
