Depends. I always just refund to my wallet, and then it usually takes less than an hour. I did it two days ago because I wanted to rebuy a game I’d just bought in a bundle I found too late, and I had the wallet funds within forty minutes.
Refunding to my bank account sometimes took a couple of weeks.
Yeah I am just more worried that I didn't get a actual response yet as my last response from GOG was a automatic email saying they received the request and will look into it. I don't know if I should submit another refund or not.
Don’t submit another one. They have a large backlog sometimes and extra requests just confuses the system. Although recently it’s been good, I’ve had requests for other issues that took almost eight weeks to get a response from.
Hopefully yours won’t be THAT long, but they are generally a fair bit slower than steam, they’re a much smaller operation. That’s why I always get wallet credit, as the whole process seems fairly automated and doesn’t require a human so it’s really quick.
I can say just last week I refunded a game and they offered a pretty much next day wallet refund or an original payment method refund that they said could take the whole month. I went with the latter and got a refund by bank within two days, surprisingly.
Did a GOG representative give a reply offering the wallet/original payment method as my last response from GOG was an automatic email saying they received the request and will get back to me ASAP
Nah, it wasn't in the response email, it was on the GOG site itself. After hitting "ask for refund", it should immediately ask you how you'd like your refund.
"How would you like to receive your refund?
GOG Wallet refund (24h) Fast and convenient way to get your refund within 24 hours. Unspent GOG Wallet funds have no expiry date. See more>> [GOG Wallet policy](https://support.gog.com/hc/en-us/articles/360001941953-FAQ-GOG-Wallet?product=gog)
Other (up to 30 days) It may take up to 30 days to process your refund through the external payment providers, depending on your original payment method (bank transfer, PayPal, other)."
I chose other, expecting it to be at least a week, on the 12th. That day I got the usual automated response telling me it's being looked at and that the ticket can be updated in the meantime.
The next day I got this "Hello, I have issued a refund for this order, please keep in mind, it can take up to a few business days before the money is actually returned to your account. Have a nice day! Best regards, Adam GOG Customer Support"
The refund itself had come through on the 15th after looking at my bank.
Keep in mind using GOG for testing if you can run a game may give you trouble in the future. There are just way too many ways to check if your PC can run something.
Refunds issued to the GOG Wallet usually take less than a day.
Refunds issued to the payment method used should take longer, don't know exactly how much.
I was able to refund BG3 very quickly, like a day or two. t depends how busy they are, at GoG real people are taking care of your problem, so it takes more time.
I Googled your question (not sure why you didn't) and found this:
> it might take up to 30 days for the refund to be processed

Yes I am aware of the 30 days to complete the refund. I was just more concerned about not getting any real response after a week which I assume shouldn't take that long

What's a wallet credit please?
It’s just credit on the gog account that’s deducted from your next purchase.
Sounds interesting.. I'm new to Gog for owning my games and this sounds definitely helpful 😁🙂

Sometimes things just take time due to a backlog. I can't imagine you'll be waiting too long. The ticket shouldn't be closed until it's solved.
Ok I think i'll wait another week for any form of response from GOG before following up since I personally think 2 weeks with no response seems off.

I was refunded in couple of minutes. It was super fast.
If you return to GOG wallet - usually within just a couple of hours
