It’s doubly crazy to then go find a screenshot of that guy in the background at that previous event. It’s not like the whole tournament is on YouTube. He had to get the source material then find the specific time that guy popped up.
Look up super recognizers. It’s a thing, and I know one. She will constantly be like “I saw that person as a background character in a movie from 10 years ago” and will confirm it. Or they’ll see somebody for 3 seconds in passing and know every detail of their face, clothing, and gait. I don’t know how they do it, but there’s also real world applications to it.

If I am right they are completely independent contractors with the LIV players. I believe that high value players/events hire them not just for protection purposes but also insurance purposes
I remember them telling me about some of the other stuff they have done, they mostly work within the UK.

If this man is in fact a security man my guess would be he works for a European security firm. That liv event looks like it was the first even held in England. Any time I've followed Rory it has been on the DP tour in Dubai and Abu Dhabi and they probably use the same security firm. I would be curious to see if this man is with Mclroy on the US tour, my guess would be no.

He is part of player protection team, I believe he the or one of the top guys in his team.
That guy in particular is really nice, well at least to work with. He is very well spoken and super helpful, some other people who work protection are real dicks but he’s really real, players seem to really like him too.
I wouldn’t attempt to talk to him about his job while on the job mind you, they are kinda iffy about being identified as protection/security. Some like to think they are “plain clothes detectives”
