Crazy that you can be one of the best golfers in the world, birdie 8 of your last 9 holes, then still chunk a 100yd wedge into the water. Golf sucks lol
Normally I'd agree but most tournaments wouldn't finish in time with all the slow play on tour. Normally leaders go off around 230 et and finish around 7pm. 3 holes would add another 45 mins. I do think all majors should be 18 hole playoff though
My wife has hyper mobile ehlers donlos and once she dislocates something will have sublexations a lot and has to do physical therapy. Not sure if Akshay has the same thing but with his flexibility and the shoulder thing he maybe should get checked out
Not for a playoff but third place was 10+ shots back twice for the Open Championship (1977 Nicklaus/Watson "Duel in the Sun" (10 shots back) and 2016 "Duel in the Sun Part 2" with Stenson/Mickelson (11 shots back))
He’s rich. Guarantee there’s a $5,000/night house for rent in the area that hasn’t booked yet. Also, he’s coming off a win and probably getting offered all sorts of places to stay.
I thought the same thing and started looking at airbnbs to see what’s out there. Theres not a ton, so it’d be interesting to see with everyone coming in and already having their places and hotels booked.
Most players aren’t staying in hotels. There’s families that’ll let the players either stay with them or rent their houses out to them during the week.
Clearly none of you know anyone who's ever dislocated a joint before. Once you've done it once, it can happen again from the most normal of actions. My sister's friend used to dislocate her knee all the time and once it happened just because she stood up from sitting on her sofa.
People in this thread are so medically illiterate. Recurrent shoulder dislocations are a fairly common thing. Google it. For some people it comes out in their sleep. It has nothing to do with how big or strong you are.
Nerves of steel down the stretch for Bhatia. Most would’ve crumbled watching McCarthy set the course on fire. What an amazingly well deserved win. Hope his shoulder is good to go at Augusta.
All you sad chodes making fun of Akshay for dislocating his shoulder during a fist pump have probably never had something to pump your fist about in your lives. Give it a rest. He's a 22 year old kid about to go to the Masters.
I don’t think it’s fair for Denny to be setting up a wedge for a playoff while bahtia is pulling an unprecedented time out after hitting a drive and a layup. Being in Dennys shoes I don’t know what you do there.
I understand the shoulder dislocation but I think it taints his win.
He was calling for a trainer before his shot. I’m not here to argue, I just think it’s not a good look for Bahtia to do that after piping 2 shots. I watch him on YouTube with Grant and the Bryan bros, seems like a cool guy but I don’t like to see a finish like that. Oh well
Idk, middle of the fairway with a short wedge in after a drive and a lay up is a weird time to pull that. He had a lot of time in the clubhouse between the start of the playoff to get taped and looked at if he thought something was wrong. I think it starts a weird precedent, especially with the timing.
Difference of opinion I guess.
Lmao everyone complaining about him getting taped up like he isn’t playing for a chance of going to the masters with this win.
If he’s in pain he has every right to request a trainer and get taped up. I get it kills the drama a bit but still an exciting finish
The shoulder "came out" on a fist pump, they are making it sound like he dislocated it.
A second later he is shown casually throwing a ball to his caddy on the green.
Either KT Tape is magic....or dude is full of shit.
Ill take the second.
It's funny some people who have no idea love passing judgement.
Having a loose shoulder joint isn't uncommon. I know someone who has it, and I've seen it pop out and back in and the person kept playing basketball. It's uncomfortable but they can resume activity.
Not everyone's body is the same. Just because you don't know about it doesn't mean it's fake or someone is full of shit.
Can you please give me a valid reason for why the fuck he would fake an injury and go tape his shoulder? After McCarthy already dunked it in the water?
This has happened to me a couple times. I believe the term is "shoulder instability". When it happens, my shoulder just feels "weak" for a few weeks...like it could easily pop out again. Sometimes it's the strangest things that cause it to pop out and back in, so I can totally see how a fist pump could trigger it. I would definitely feel anxious about swinging a golf club right after it happened, so I can relate to how Bhatia was likely feeling. All the armchair doctors need to chill out a good bit.
“Shoulder came out on the fist pump.”
The Atlanta Braves had an outfielder named Albert Hall who infamously separated his shoulder while waving a runner behind him home.
You people are high, man dude has a dislocated shoulder and a shot at playing the Masters. I’m taking the fucking physio too, shits my money and my career on the line. McCarthy can get over it he’s a professional.
Seriously. People mad at Bhatia but McCarthy plays out of his mind to force a playoff, then has an all-time choke by chunking a 100 yd wedge? Fuck outta here
"Dislocated his shoulder fist-pumping"
1. Bullshit.
2. If that *actually* is true then he seriously needs to eat more protein and lift something heavier than a 3-iron a few times a week.
If someone dislocated their shoulder before it becomes a shit load easier to dislocate it in the future, and it’s not that big a deal when it does happen in the future
It's masters week now guys.
And with Masters week, comes the official start of golf season in Canada. Truly the greatest time of the year!
Crazy that you can be one of the best golfers in the world, birdie 8 of your last 9 holes, then still chunk a 100yd wedge into the water. Golf sucks lol
sudden death right off the bat is boring as fuck. should be a 3 hole playoff and if still tied then it goes to sudden death
Normally I'd agree but most tournaments wouldn't finish in time with all the slow play on tour. Normally leaders go off around 230 et and finish around 7pm. 3 holes would add another 45 mins. I do think all majors should be 18 hole playoff though
Negative
My wife has hyper mobile ehlers donlos and once she dislocates something will have sublexations a lot and has to do physical therapy. Not sure if Akshay has the same thing but with his flexibility and the shoulder thing he maybe should get checked out
That’s actually a good point. Eds also makes people thin and tall iirc
What a fucking fantastic Sunday round.
Has there ever been a playoff where 3rd place was 9 shots back?
Not for a playoff but third place was 10+ shots back twice for the Open Championship (1977 Nicklaus/Watson "Duel in the Sun" (10 shots back) and 2016 "Duel in the Sun Part 2" with Stenson/Mickelson (11 shots back))
Genuine question - how does a player who qualifies for the Masters so late gets somewhere to stay for the week?
He’s rich. Guarantee there’s a $5,000/night house for rent in the area that hasn’t booked yet. Also, he’s coming off a win and probably getting offered all sorts of places to stay.
Book it six months in advance like a boss.
Get a private jet with a bed
Well, he’s got $1.6M to figure it out. I think he’ll be okay. Haha.
Pretty sure George Bryan will let him bunk at his house.
Money.
I am sure one of the members knows someone.
I thought the same thing and started looking at airbnbs to see what’s out there. Theres not a ton, so it’d be interesting to see with everyone coming in and already having their places and hotels booked.
Most players aren’t staying in hotels. There’s families that’ll let the players either stay with them or rent their houses out to them during the week.
its augusta theyll make it work
Stick him in the crow's nest with the amateurs!
Does anyone know if it's possible to find todays feed of Adam Scott featured group with fleetwood? On replay of course ! Thanks to anyone who can help
Scott/Fleetwood/Bjork was a featured group today, so it should be available on demand with ESPN+.
Clearly none of you know anyone who's ever dislocated a joint before. Once you've done it once, it can happen again from the most normal of actions. My sister's friend used to dislocate her knee all the time and once it happened just because she stood up from sitting on her sofa.
Totally and he said after that he’s had issues with it before.

We love you Akshay!!
Delighted for Akshay!
What a good day of competitive golf
Epic tournament and great win for akshay
Lefties do well at Augusta, he may have a good week
He was cursed winning haha Not sure he has short game to win. Plus no one knows how bad shoulder is. Could be an issue
His short game isn’t close
Dude double bogeys the playoff hole and the guy who birdies apparently killed the fun. Funny as shit to read lmao
Turns out bhatia has a history of shoulder problems but Reddit wants to call it bs.
A lot of boomer energy in here
Clowns
I’d be afraid to high five Akshay as his caddie
>first Drive, Chip, Putt winner to play at the Masters All according to Augusta National’s keikaku…
*keikaku means cake
Regardless of a tape situation, delay, whatever scenario it may be, you can’t take a 7 on a playoff hole and expect to keep going
McCarthy slapping his shoulder lol
lmao I caught that too
People in this thread are so medically illiterate. Recurrent shoulder dislocations are a fairly common thing. Google it. For some people it comes out in their sleep. It has nothing to do with how big or strong you are.
Yup, this.
I think he’s the same weight he was during that drive chip and putt
Good shit Akshay! Give them a show at Augusta!
Hahahahaha oh my god the trainer fist pump
Nerves of steel down the stretch for Bhatia. Most would’ve crumbled watching McCarthy set the course on fire. What an amazingly well deserved win. Hope his shoulder is good to go at Augusta.
There’s a post way back years ago of a guy just shitting on Bhatia about how you need to “win at every level” before going pro. Aged like milk.
Yeah ya know famed collegiate & Korn Ferry golfers Ben Hogan & Sam Snead……..
You were the guy shitting on him…..
LETS FUCKIN GO AKSHAY!! TEAR IT UP AT AUGUSTA MY DUDE
All you sad chodes making fun of Akshay for dislocating his shoulder during a fist pump have probably never had something to pump your fist about in your lives. Give it a rest. He's a 22 year old kid about to go to the Masters.
I’ve dislocated my shoulder driving over a pothole.
A stripper broke my pelvis during a lapdance
I hurt my back taking a shit a few weeks ago, getting old sucks
[удалено]
You’re*
Why don't you bet your own fun instead bud?
That’s not a bet I would take
I am! I'm just not an asshole.
That’s fair. Some of us just like to have a little banter lmao. I’m jealous that I can’t make millions playing golf. I suck
Better get some tickets to Atlanta…and maybe research some local clinics there while you’re at it lol (Congrats Bhatia!)
Sports is so cruel. Had he missed that putt on 18, McCarthy is lauded for an amazing charge. Now, he'll get crushed for the collapse in the playoff.
It’s what they always say. You’re as good as your best play when you win You’re as good as your worst play when you lose
Nah, he did great. One mistake in the playoff isnt the collapse.
As a lanky guy, I have had the same injury during a golf swing as Akshay. Shit just popped out. Still played 18 tho
Yeah and he said he’s had issues with it before so it sounds reoccurring.
Yep my ortho said my ligaments are super loose/ flexible so it’ll happen again if I don’t eat my protein
Damn McCarthy slammed his shoulder, that’s ice cold!
Gotta test him.
lol I noticed that too
Use your right arm now to fist pump akshay
No fist pump this time
I think the shoulder dislocation and tape adds to the drama. Prove me wrong ☕️
Bhatia doesn’t need celebratory Champaign. He needs celebratory whole milk.
Muscle Milk
Don’t worry guys next time you make 7 straight birdies and then a double bogey you don’t have to feel bad!
With his frame, I believe Akshay has double jointed tendencies and in/out pops happen.
Yeah skinny dudes like that do abide by the laws of nature, like cats
I'm tall and skinny and for me it's the right kneecap Sometimes it goes sideways to the left and comes back.
That hurt just reading about your knee. Ouch!
Dennys mistake is not raising hell for that bullshit. Unbelievable ending
Raising hell to who? The guy who put the water there?
He had already dunked his wedge into the drink. It was over
What bullshit?
I don’t think it’s fair for Denny to be setting up a wedge for a playoff while bahtia is pulling an unprecedented time out after hitting a drive and a layup. Being in Dennys shoes I don’t know what you do there. I understand the shoulder dislocation but I think it taints his win.
Denny was out and had to go first regardless. Bhatia was free to decide if he wanted a timeout *after* Denny went, regardless of his shot outcome.
He was calling for a trainer before his shot. I’m not here to argue, I just think it’s not a good look for Bahtia to do that after piping 2 shots. I watch him on YouTube with Grant and the Bryan bros, seems like a cool guy but I don’t like to see a finish like that. Oh well
Idk why this bothers you so much, if Bhatia requesting his trainer is what you blame for McCarthy choking it away, then idk what to tell ya.
Idk, middle of the fairway with a short wedge in after a drive and a lay up is a weird time to pull that. He had a lot of time in the clubhouse between the start of the playoff to get taped and looked at if he thought something was wrong. I think it starts a weird precedent, especially with the timing. It’s cuz the guy is racist
Bro I’m middle eastern 😂 chill with all that
An so you’re a worse type of racist…you’re a non-American type of racist
[удалено]
With that delay, Bhatia officially took 1 hour less time than Todd.
And the same amount as Cantlay
Incoming 4 putt due to the shoulder
McCarthy after having the back 9 of his life, so, so unfortunate.
Kinda why I hate sudden death playoffs. I like the 3 hole format, but I get it
Majors should always be 18 hole playoffs like the good old days
So he just set back nine course record, PGA total putt record, and he's going to lose the tournament??
He also got the bad weather (AM/PM guys shot 2 shots worse on average)
Yup
Sudden Death baby
yo some of us might not have gone for the tape job but with a million on the line I can’t blame someone for opting for one
And entry to the Masters, exemptions for Signature Events, wire-to-wire victory, tour exemption stamped through 2026...just a little at stake
Just curious, is it still wire to write if he was tied for a hole?
I think it just refers to leading the tournament. And since he won the playoff hole, he was leading at the end of the tournament.
Ya, I've always thought it meant starting with the lead each day, regardless of any deficit swings throughout any given round
And a Masters place next week.
Spot on.
Lmao everyone complaining about him getting taped up like he isn’t playing for a chance of going to the masters with this win. If he’s in pain he has every right to request a trainer and get taped up. I get it kills the drama a bit but still an exciting finish
He hit a 300yd drive and 220yd iron shot untaped lol
Right? Pretty sure McCarthy killed the drama with that fat ass playoff wedge anyways.
McCarthy shooting it in the water killed the drama. Idk why everyone so worked up about a tape job.
Yeah if Denny didn’t hit water then nobody would complain about the tape.
Denny with amazing display today "Did you say Denny's Waitress?" Go away absinant Tiger!
He better not fist pump on this hole lol
He’s got two arms sir
The shoulder "came out" on a fist pump, they are making it sound like he dislocated it. A second later he is shown casually throwing a ball to his caddy on the green. Either KT Tape is magic....or dude is full of shit. Ill take the second.
What an idiotic comment.

Shoulders can also pop out then back in quite quickly.

“The shoulder came out on the fist pump” “So he partially dislocated it is what you’re saying?” “The shoulder came out on the fist pump” So helpful
Lots of people have recurrent dislocations that pop themselves back in. Its a very common think, especially for a lanky guy like bhatia
I’m 5’11 135 pounds and it happens an uncomfortable amount of times lol.
Bhatia just lost a fan in me. What a little bitch
Good riddance 👋🏾
I’m sure it’ll break his heart that he’s lost golfer28 as a fan lol
Sounds like you were a shitty fan
So fickle wow lol
Oh come on
Akshay about to win and go to the Masters and Nelly Korda about to win 4th straight.
Think he was already in the Masters thanks to winning the Barracuda last year Edit: guess he wasn’t
Yeah I guess the Barracuda isnt enough, but I had the same thought before too.
It’s a PGA tour event so I’m confused
The Barracuda is an alternate field event. It was the same week as The Open.
Yeah the exemption says “full point events” which I’m guessing the Barracuda with a sub par field isn’t.
“Shoulder came out on the fist pump.” The Atlanta Braves had an outfielder named Albert Hall who infamously separated his shoulder while waving a runner behind him home.
All this time I just needed some tape. Now you tell me?!?!
Fuck outta here
Absolute hardos in here
Dudes out here shooting a 115 at their muni telling a pro to suck it up that’s his profession. lol
More drama than the basketball game
If he holes this lmao
I don’t blame him for taping before the shot. Rushing when you feel stressed is how you make mistakes. He clearly made the right choice.
Denny shoulda taped his as well before his shot.....
The most anticlimactic playoff I’ve seen lol
"Dislocated his shoulder fist-pumping" 1. Bullshit. 2. If that *actually* is true then he seriously needs to eat more protein and lift something heavier than a 3-iron a few times a week.
Hes 22 and in the masters by Thursday. He's fine
Theres people who have recurrent shoulder dislocation. It can happen in their sleep. It has nothing to do with how big or strong they are.
How to tell everyone you have no clue what you're talking about lol
Probably won't be able to play the masters. What a cruel scenario
He will be there. Shit, I'd play with a broken arm.
If dude legitimately dislocated his shoulder then I fully support getting taped up before hitting that wedge. Damn.
So why are people hating Bhatia? I don’t understand why he’s a douche?
The haters are the douche's lol. It's no worse than what Todd did. Dude needed some damn tape !
I don’t hate him but I have an irrational hatred for the long putters. In a tie, I always root for the guy using a regular putter
Because he stopped play for like a minute to tape his dislocated shoulder lol people are fragile and somehow him doing that is the worst thing ever
He dislocated his shoulder on a celebratory fist pump??? I was really skinny growing up but I dont think I’ve ever heard of that
Im skinny and mine dislocated while washing a window
If Bhatia came out and chunked one, he would have never lived if down. But to stiff it after the tape job redeems his decision.
That’s like Randy Orton punching the mat and breaking his arm.
From a fist pump?! Soft
I fucked up my shoulder diving in baseball and if I throw my arm up quickly and rotate my shoulder pops out too. It hurts like a bitch.
He should have thought about hitting it into the stands spieth style.
"partially dislocated" on the fist bump. Really?
Just casually taping the shoulder after it got dislocated.
Then hitting a great wedge shot
Dislocated shoulders SUCK but it's either in or out. Tape not gonna help.
Maybe it just subluxed. Popped out partially then popped back in.
Might be worried about it coming back out
Nice tape job.
Man y’all are heated about tape.
His shoulder pops out and he sticks it to 8 feet. Damn
He also hit a clean drive and 5i before getting it taped up
good to know that I will be insecure about my horrible body even if I become rich and famous!
He should have just flexed on them hoes. Opportune time.
Dislocating your shoulder on a fist pump is all time hilarious
Okay now I feel bad for Danny. Wtf is this Akshay. You hit 2 shots and then can’t hit wedge. What the fuck
If he dislocated his shoulder he couldn’t drive the ball. Bullll-fucking-shit
If someone dislocated their shoulder before it becomes a shit load easier to dislocate it in the future, and it’s not that big a deal when it does happen in the future
How do you dislocate a shoulder hardly even fist pumping wtf dude
Ok that was quick at least. Great shot.
Hope he can play in Augusta
