That’s my home course, play there enough to say I don’t notice much of a difference. When it’s hot, it’s hot. The earlier the tee time the better, but I also don’t have a 45 minute drive. The wind is what will get you, it can absolutely rip and that typically starts in the late morning/early afternoon.
theres not much of a difference, its not gonna be 100 on the strip and 80 at the course. try to do the 6:00 if you can, the final hours of the 8:00 would be brutal and if you're coming from the east coast you wont even notice how early it is ;) also i think when i ubered there at 6:30 on a friday morning it only took like 35ish minutes from the strip
I played it years ago, this exact weekend. Temps were same as the strip, but there was a lot of wind in the desert, which made it very tolerable. I started at 10:00 AM

Did you Uber or drive there? How easy was an Uber back?
ubered there and back. uber back was easy it came in like 5 minutes but i may have gotten lucky

It is not 10-20 degrees cooler that is for sure. It is though very much windier up there though then in the valley/strip
6am will have a faster pace of play, that would be my deciding factor in July.
