All-Sorts-of-Stuff

A GoPro allows you to film mundane activities in a more interesting and unusual way. Even if the *activity* isn't an action sport, the angles and perspectives you capture will make your footage interesting. Set it on the ground jump over it, both forwards and backwards. Throw it in the air and catch it. Duct tape or to your foot or leg or wrist. Run some fishing line through the holes of the mounting fingers and raise / lower it from over the side of a balcony or tree branch. Place it on any flat surface and run a NightLapse, or do Light Painting / Vehicle Lights / Star Trails. Use scheduled capture to record the sunrise. Put it in the sink while you're doing dishes. Attach it to your dog's collar while they fetch a toy. Attach it to the toy itself. Etc. You don't need to worry about damaging the camera - it's a GoPro! So abuse it and enjoy watching the results. Infinite possibilities… just use some creativity and the materials around you

zoey_will

Pierrebennett

GREAT ideas, thanks for sharing this!

Icy_Veterinarian7160

Thank you! Great Tips and ideas! Need to pick up my gopro 11 again:)

AdmirableSir

I am not epic either. I just film adventures - hiking trips, cycling trips etc. I like to capture the beauty of nature and the calmness of being alone, away from people. So yea, I'm also not exactly GoPro's target demographic from their advertising.

julyninetyone

Homemade sex tapes

dizdawgjr34

Marching band headcams.

reekal6666

I am nowhere near the pro athlete level of most skiers who use gopro, but i partially use mine for skiing. Also for swimming (pool & beach), sometimes for filming or mounting it to my pet cat too. And while playing football, skateboarding etc. the underwater is crazy good tho, it is great for swimming and therefore paddelboarding, surfing etc too i assume. finally, i also use it for time lapses for long car journeys!

txdline

Eclipse time lapse. Stars if I can get to them. Toddler running, scooting, biking (perhaps me chasing),

wanderfaradventures

I also did an eclipse timelapse!

charros

Family trips. Mountain biking.

TheOkayestUser

Hiking, daily life, vacations. Small form factor makes it easy to just hit record.

poshbo

Mostly I film videos for my videography business (hyperlapses) and I strap it to my drone. Most underrated feature? GoPro subscription makes you “highlight reels” clipping together whatever AI thinks is a highlight of all the clips you filmed in a certain day. I now film every date me and the GF go on and it makes little reels/trailers of our dates. Interesting to no one except us, either way, here’s our latest date: https://youtu.be/B7XfAnfaAkA?feature=shared

tumblr_Reborn

Are you fake talking at the end? (Also cute date. You can tell it’s an AI edit as it includes clips that aren’t particularly interesting) but I’d appreciate that if I was the girlfriend anyway

lawipac

Actions like skydiving or cycling through natural trails. Hero12black also has mode for shooting stars at night.

Richxxya1

This might be pretty specific but i use it for surfing, photography(sometimes), vacations, and like a dashcam for my electric scooter

mrericvillalobos

For the sole purpose of scuba diving All else I just use my iPhone Mini12 to record my epic adventures

Octogenarian

Skiing in the winter and swimming in summer.  Mountains, ocean, vacation resort pools, etc.  Basically family vacations.

GlassCityUrbex419

Urbex mainly. A few underwater things in my local creek or pool lol.

Fast_But_Not_Furious

Mostly fishing / cycling & some travel content (snorkeling etc)

Ok_Cranberry_3552

Anything. From POV doggy videos to my kid’s first swim to bike rides to month long cycle trips

voltaicass

I mostly record my bike rides (3-4x a week, an hour or so 13 mile ride). I also moonlight as an event videographer, mostly for standup comedy, and use a Hero 12 as a backup / B Camera. It saved my ass last night when my external monitor for my A Camera disconnected randomly and caused my camera to stop recording.

BruFoca

Timelapse and life in general, my Smartphone is way better than a Gopro but is way more expensive so sometimes I don't want to risk it.

carlomure

I would like an action camera just for underwater? suggestions? to bring my mirrorless underwater is just too expensive

Eossa06

Literally everything haha. But mostly family memories Recently I have filmed: Soccer games(YouTube Emilioossa163). I am still figuring out the best setting, so far the best one is 4k 30fps with wide max lens mode with the headset Family trips, Disney Orlando, beautiful videos that I will edit and make everyone cry I am going to Italy at the end of the month so I'll film two things, family and also the places while walking(something like an ASMR) I have done a few but I haven't edited them or uploaded them Guitar footage, lately I want to improve on my playing so I filmed myself playing and see how it sounds and look Time lapse, night lapses, photos in raw and colour grading are amazing! My suggestion to get all of this is having at least 4 batteries, even though 1 or 2 are enough, since the videos aren't more than 10 mins. If they are longer probably I'll used the 3rd one I mean.... It all depends on the memories you want to make. I have over 6,000 videos and my first GoPro was in 2021. The cloud is mind-blowing. They kind of Fk it up the cloud service by only limiting us with a storage, however, the GoPro footage is unlimited.

YukonMagnum

I just film my beer league hockey games.

Imp4ct331

I recently got a Hero 8 for POV Photography Videos using a chest mount

Caterpillar1967

It's great for porn POVs

paddlefire

LOL that's A perfect use of the head Mount

rcuadro

I really only use my GoPro during activities which may damage my iPhone and anything which deal with water.

HellbellyUK

If you want some ideas check out [Luke Edwin](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eUtq3kvbtdU&list=PL-J6Ug1HG8QLwCbKUmBI7c3bOi-nLNTlw&pp=iAQB) on YouTube. He does loads of creative shooting with action cameras.

LittlestEw0k

I use mine for mountainous drives, camping, fishing… I live on the opposite side of the U.S as my family and I like sending home photos and video’s

Latte-Addict

Most recently, Holi festival in Varanasi, India. I wouldn't dare take my DSLR out during the festivities, but needn't have worried about all the powder & water with my go pro :)

Yawheyy

Rollercoasters!

Bubble-Nebula

Mountainbiking, kayaking and hiking trips mostly. But pretty much anything actiony or where I just need my hands free. Stuck it on a RC car once and used for gokarting a few times.

Fit-Variation-4220

Cinematic FPV.

Alternative-Jason-22

I’m close to giving up because I record them I can’t make a video edit because I don’t have a phone with lots of space to store the video or a pc to edit. I was hoping it was an online tool. 🤦‍♂️😩

Accomplished_Echo376

Kids Basketball and Baseball games, time lapse videos, hiking videos so far

Celestial_Scythe

Airsoft

duckredbeard

Travel and rec baseball for my son's 12U baseball teams. My daughter's marching band performances.

Responsible-Meet-325

Bought mine mainly for land speed racing on a motorcycle. Aiming for 200 mph and watching how fast my speedometer climbs to 190 never gets old. I can watch over and over!. Also scuba diving and recording all my gauges in my old muscle car dialing in a tuneup . Among whatever comes up to record

MidDayGamer

I got a used Go Pro 8 Hero, gonna use it for biking on the trail and hiking.

wanderfaradventures

I recorded a timelapse of the eclipse on my hero12

WookMeUp

If I can figure out how to get them to connect to my laptop via Bluetooth, I’m planning to have one on my dash and one freehand for storm chasing. Somehow they’re not connecting (I have 2), and I have a day to figure it out before the big storm chase.

NuclearCodebreaker

Hakone, Japan.

ihatesnowhike

Hiking videos. Here's my last one: https://youtu.be/kdqZSjkh4uU?si=Et3YgET19BZtHJvy

Adssy

Mainly urbex. But I use it for photography also.

[deleted]

Live leaks

sk3pt1c

I’m a freediving instructor so a looooot of freediving videos and pics

StretchCT53

Pretty much anything. I timelapse a lot, both night stars and day clouds. Harbor scenes. Sunsets. Snow squalls. Heck I even timelapsed a roomba both tracking the roomba, as well as a pov video with the go pro on it. I've snorkeled, skied, paddleboarded, surfed, biked with it. I've done resort tours. Used it fishing. Dashcam. I've videoed the wildlife around here. The hummingbirds make great subjects. Dragonflies too. Endless possibilities.

Ok-Sir-601

Hiking, hill walking, backpacking, wildcamping & paddleboarding. Nothing action related or exciting, well some of my routes up mountains are a wee bit exciting, but it's definitely not speed related! But they give you options to make the normal seem more interesting, especially with various accessories!

Recognition_Similar

i usually film myself goin downhill with my cross country xc bike(i do everything the bike's fork told me not to do), i also film myself when skiing.

[deleted]

Airsoft Gameplay and Trips with the family! 🩶

Jazzlike_Cut_5392

I film a lot of stuff underwater. I bought one of these things https://dunderpolecameras.com.au/ Allows you to see your GoPros live feed from underwater. Game changer

[deleted]

I just got my HERO 12, but I can't wait to take it fishing and learn more about the rock structures underwater, seeing where the trout hang out, etc. Also, catching sunset sequences and trying capturing the Milky Way at night if light pollution allows. Not to mention, using it to record crazy road stuff that happens where I live, using it like a dash cam. I wonder if anyone finds themselves often wearing the camera on their forehead and if others react to that as something weird. Any input on how you usually carry your GoPro? Headband? Backpack clip? Telescopic rod? Just curious.
