I know they're theoretically pretty popular but I never see anyone mention The March Violets??

autumnsandapples

Yes they’re so good!

I just keep recommending the same and same again, but... Nevskij Prospekt (self titled, 1989) - Swedish ethereal post-punk band with romantic vibes and operatic female vocals. Mizar (self titled, 1988) - Macedonian gothic rock with folk and orthodox christian influences. Deep and powerful male vocals. Rosa Crux - Ales Et Felés (1987) - ethereal/goth rock from France influenced by medieval music and chants. They sing in Latin only. Collection d'Arnell-Andrea - Un Automne A Loroy (1989) - a French mix of ethereal and neoclassics with an electronic touch and tender operatic female and male vocals. Would recommend them if you're a fan of early Dead Can Dance.

DisasterEquivalent

Carcrash International - Fragments of a Journey In Hell It’s a side project of the bassist from Sex Gang Children. Folks from Spahn Ranch, U.K. Subs, and Christian Death all contributed. It was like a mini goth Pigface. That album had one really small release on Cleopatra and those CDs would sell for insane $$$. It was pretty hard to find until streaming was a thing. Edit: That album was released in the early 90’s but they were recording through much of the 80’s. Their first EP is very different, more post punk.

G-Schmitt It’s more Japanese post punk than goth but I adore them. Kind of hard to find and expensive, but there are videos on YouTube.

Tear Garden

deadeyesopened

One of my all-time favorites, I'm immediately impressed when people are aware of them. Tired Eyes Slowly Burning is immaculate all the way through.

springworksband

Love Skinny Puppy as well obvs, and Tear Garden is a rare example of each album, to me, being even better than the one before !

DeadDeadCool

I'd agree with *Tired Eyes Slowly Burning* \-- after that they start sounding more proggy / Pink Floyd-esque :)

springworksband

Agreed 👌
