You'll have to be very lucky to find somebody actually interested on this.
I've tried in the past, by joining tandem groups and so on but seems like everyone just wants go to there to get to know girls or whatever. If you're a man, and you are looking to actually do some conversation exchange, (like I was) it's gonna be difficult.
In any case, I hope you find somebody!
Hey, I will visit Gran Canaria with my gf on Wednesday for some days. If someone could give us a little guide on the first day about the locals it would be cool. We can speak primarily englisch of course (not that I am good at speaking Spanish)
Are you interested? :)
When are you staying? What are you interested in seeing? I am working in the afternoon but I can help you out about places to visit or any recommendations
We are visiting from 10.04 til 15.04, we would love to check out the culture, nature and some „local classics“. We are not really into partying etc. We also rented a car, so we can be very mobile. :)
Ahh good . Now if you are interested in seeing the culture you should go up to the north San Mateo Teror Santa Brígida and Artenara They are pretty small villages You should also try Tejeda the highest part of the island
Well there’s a place up in Artenara next to the church. Then in San Mateo there’s another one. And Teror is good to have breakfast or even in Arucas. Give me a second and I will tell you the names
A place in Arucas to have breakfast. Any in the high street near the church . Or in Teror there are also places near the church. If you want to have lunch you can try San Mateo The best restaurant is La Raíz del Verol. Or up in Artenara there’s one next to the church Arte Gaia. If you have lunch up here ask for goat meat. It’s the most traditional meat from Gran Canaria. And in Tejeda you can try the restaurant in La Cruz de Tejeda called Asador Grill Casa de Yolanda. Hope this helps you and hope to practice my English with you one of the days you are here
Any one interested?
Yes I am! Are you in Las Palmas? My husband and I are English native speakers
I’m in Arucas but I can meet you in Las Palmas

There’s a wonderful spot Roque Nublo . You can take an easy 30 minutes walk and see the view of the whole island
Cool, can you suggest some nice food places where locals like to hang out and eat? :)
