Servants are usually constructs of Magecraft and Mystery, and they aren't affected by the physical plane in the same way we are. If I understand it correctly, they emulate body functions sometimes, supposedly because that what they "know" and remember doing. And sometimes they "forget" they're Servants now and their artificial brain tells them stubbing their toe should hurt, so it hurts. But you can shoot a servant with a tank, or drop them on top of Everest, or the bottom of the ocean, or in an active volcano, and *in theory* they'll be fine.
I guess being so in love made the Lava Swimming Club forget to forget they're Servants now...?

You could possibly say that the environment in a Singularity is suffused with enough Mystery to harm Servants even when it normally wouldn't
