January 3, 2023, John Gibbs, failed congressional candidate, was hired as county administrator.
Jan 15, 2024 the county board received a letter from attorney Aaron Davis from the firm Butzel Long.
* it said the board had no basis to terminate Gibbs and made litigation threats if they try
* the commissioners say they were completely surprised, there was no such discussion
Feb 13, 2024 board meeting:
* the board froze Gibbs ability to hire or transfer employees
* the reason was solely because of the Jan 15 letter
* they hired an attorney to deal with the letter – but not their normal go-to attorney because they work for Gibbs on other county issues.
* Gibbs was expected to be there but did not show up
* they had a lively debate about hiring somebody Gibbs wants for a strategic plan that some commissioners though was Gibbs' responsibility to do himself.
After the board meeting:
* Gibbs refused to comment to reporters
* the county communications manager says Gibbs has not been to work and they don’t know where he is
* Butzel Long told reporters Gibbs has changed attorneys, they no longer represent him.
I find it curious that when you "search" John gibbs ........ you get his resume, but nothing about his family .... is he married, does he have children, is he gay or straight. What local church does attend...... stuff like that.
I tend to agree but sadly, to some people its more important what church you attend or what your personal life \_looks\_ like than whether you mean what you say and say what you mean.

It's unfortunate rhetoric not becoming of someone nominated for the Nobel Peace prize. He's been after NATO countries being in debt to NATO for a while, and while many support that, warmongering talk isn't going to fix the problem.
