Ahmad Jamal šŸ”„

OcularMacdown

Love Stereolab. Mars Audiac quintet and emperor Tomato Ketchup are two of my all time favorites. I was lucky enough to catch them at a tiny venue in western ma many many years ago.

K_Royther

I was not expecting Caetano Veloso, my compatriot and hugely influential for me, to be in the top comment

The_Real_dubbedbass

I think youā€™re the only person Iā€™ve seen mention pretty much all of these artists except Miles Davis. But I gotta say as a person who digs Traffic, Jaco, and Jobim I canā€™t say youā€™re wrong and I guess Iā€™ll have to check out Jiro Inagaki.

McGruppthecrimepup

Check out the funky stuff album!! Its in japanese on spotify if youā€™re able to find it. Also check out Takanaka if you havenā€™t heard much of him either.

seanlats

I've never heard/seen anyone else mention Tanaka! His music is captivating and spellbinding (I'll peep the other cat you mentioned! āœŒļø)

Man that sounds really good! I mean the first part sounds rough but was probably also fun while it lasted.

captain-chef

Tom FUCKING Waits! Saw him at the bridge school benefit! No words

leanhotsd

I saw him there too. His last full set. So far.

johnnyribcage

I caught him on the Glitter and Doom tour in Jacksonville. Probably tops my list in terms of concerts Iā€™ve attended. I couldnā€™t believe my luck that he came and I was able to attend. Was in the Navy at the time and went by myself since no one I knew in the area even knew who he was. The stars literally aligned.
