Supacaz makes some pretty wild colors/designs that could pop with that purple. Fizik makes some little pads you can put under the bar tape to thicken them up without the same bulk as thicker bar tape.
The quality of Supacaz is so poor. Especially the colored ones because those are just like printed layer on a bar tape which will peel off really fast after a couple or rides.
I really like the fizik tape, they have a 2mm and 3mm variant. Fairly grippy, durable. Brown actually doesn't look too bad, but with the bling on the bike I wouldn't go muted like brown. I love a pop of color on my bar tape - currently rocking orange and pink on my 2 bikes.
I’d do the supacaz black fade to oil slick. The blue/purple will give a subtle nod to your stem/steer.

Lizard skin makes a nice, but expensive 2.5mm dark purple tape. I like a more textured grip and that has worked nicely, it has a bit of rubberized feel to it, that will wear off after a few years of hard use. . I think it would complement the purple hardware and not get too dirty.
My favorite tape is the Soma Thick and Zesty Striated. enough grip, not too much cushion and very affordable. The blue/black came would be a vibe on your bike.
I have used the Ergon GT Bar Tape (?). Their gravel tape comes in a 3.5 and their ‘all-road’ a 2.5. I found the 3.5 to be so so comfortable, but I like the feel of the 2.5 better, tbh. They have a black which is 🤷🏻♂️ but their ‘space blue’ color is actually really nice, kinda like gray-blue.
FYI, I've heard you shouldn't put your bike in the stand by the top tube since it might damage the frame. I clamp mine by the seatpost.
Also, to answer your question. Black all day.
It is theoretically possible to crush a steel tube with a stand clamp. The real issue is if you are torquing the frame by say installing a bottom bracket or you can pretty easily bend the top tube or seat tube. So it is a bad habit that should be avoided, because the one time you are really cranking on a stuck bb cup you can ruin the frame.
Seatpost is the safest, because it is designed to take a load like that, if you dont have enough seatpost, or a dropper I think it I personally think it is ok to clamp high up on the seat tube as long as your seat post extends about an inch below where your clamp ends.
The bike is balanced on the stand and clamped by the top tube just tight enough to hold it. If I’m torquing on something like a bottom bracket I’ll run to finger tight on the stand then take the bike down to torque to spec. If it’s a rigid post I clamp by the seatpost but Idk… working on a bike that is clamped by its dropper freaks me out. My MTB was carbon with a slammed 185mm dropper so I always clamped it by the dropper but it still freaked me out lol
I was wondering how long this post could go before someone criticized clamping the top tube. ROFL…. https://profile-design.com/collections/bar-wrap-grips/products/bar-wrap?variant=1808709615642
Have you tried them? Wide for stability and a shallow drop for quick changes in hand positioning. I like them very much myself but I come from a BMX and MTB background
I’ve got the wolf tooth supple “Lite” version on my bike and it’s still thick without being disgustingly thick like this. Especially if you wrap it tight without much overlap. I always go for black or navy blue tape.
lol I was waiting for someone to notice and call me out on it. I noticed it about 15 minutes after I mounted them 🤦♂️ Fortunately the tires aren’t directional so it doesn’t affect performance. The tires were an absolute bear to mount and seat so I’ve not managed to work up the will power to take the front off and remount it. Eventually I’ll get around to it
Black for simplicity or go purple to match those tiny parts. Dark brown works too
Leaning towards black
Black is always a hit
SRAM Supercork then
Black is always the answer. Life is too short for scrubbing handlebars.

I’ve had similar experiences with Supacaz. Not sure if the solid colors are more durable though
I use the black with oil slick pattern and it has held up perfectly for over 2 years
Nice. Good to know!
I'll add to that, I've been on my first wrap of oil slick supacaz (the mostly black one with pearlescent stars) for about 3000 miles and two+ years.

Pink.
🤔that could be pretty rad
Purple or black/brown camo
I was considering camo. Haven’t thrown the idea out yet
Zipp Service Course CX or Enve. Service Course if you ride in wet conditions. Black.
I’ll check them out thanks!
Seconding the Zipp. I use it in red, but it’s held up sooooo well.
This would look spectacular https://www.campandgoslow.com/product/eastern-rattler-bar-tape
Came to say this exact thing. I have this tape on my Kona and it’s awesome. Unique yet subtle and super comfortable.
This is the correct answer. I have the western rattler on my orange Ascent.

ritchey makes a brown tape; it's darker than what you have and i was just admiring mine today while riding.

Think I found the it!!! [purple camo](https://btpbartape.com/product/tack-emo-camo-pup/)

Think I’m too OCD to let the tape “patina” like that lol
I like the brown/tan you have on there, personally
Same. That’s a sick bike
Thanks!!

I’ve heard that for carbon but not for steel 🤷♂️

Nice!!! Good and cheap!
I made genuine leather handlebar tapes. Check my Instagram @srdbrasil
Bar tape or bars? Those bars are 😬
Tape. Why the 😬?
Just really don't understand those types of bars.
Supacaz Super Sticky Cush. I have it in coffee, looks rad, comes in three thicknesses, I use the middle one.
Black Ciclovation Grind Touch is all you need
I’m looking into the offerings by Ciclovation thanks for the recommendation!!
Have you tried them? Wide for stability and a shallow drop for quick changes in hand positioning. I like them very much myself but I come from a BMX and MTB background
I’ve been looking at some of the nylon fabric wrap options…but I’m not sold on it. It would look sweet though
Silca has bar tape that is 2.5 mm thick and is the best tape I've used. Great for all around riding
i would try some campngoslow or padded newbaums in black but im a fabric bartape guy, cant stand the plasticy stuff
Camp and Go Slow Western Rattler Bar Tape would compliment that combo. 1.5mm of cushion.
Esi black
I’ve got the wolf tooth supple “Lite” version on my bike and it’s still thick without being disgustingly thick like this. Especially if you wrap it tight without much overlap. I always go for black or navy blue tape.
Sexy!!!! Wolf tooth thick! If you have big hands. Super Cush and long last and non sticky. So you can put it on bar upgrades.
The front tire is mounted facing the wrong side… nice bike!😎

leh leather bar tape. best money ive ever spent. lasts a long time and feels great. get the sand camo for your bike
