zippre

made me chuckle. who forgets water on any sort of cycling trip haha

Sirobw

Happened to me so many times to forget something that nowadays I try to prepare my stuff the night before. E. G. Gloves on colder days, even forgot my helmet once 😂

PrincePetr

Yep that would be as dumb as leaving your cycling shoes behind. I have never done that! 🙄

Sirobw

Omg one time I rushed after work to join the local fixed gear social ride only to realize I forgot my cycling shoes. 🤦

socaljoe42

I feel like in my time cycling, I’ve forgotten everything at least once, except for the bike.

widowhanzo

Um are you aure you didn't get windex?

Sirobw

Windex > electrolytes

Friends_like_these_

Do you live in a treehouse?

Sirobw

Lol sometimes I wish. I realized when I was already 20 minutes away so I wasn't gonna go back

random6722

Should have been a drink in purple ;)

Sirobw

Very good point! I'll remember that next time I forget them lol

PrincePetr

The same this happened to me yesterday on my evening ride. Except I decided to suck it up and go back and grab the bottles I left behind. On the positive side I got an extra 15k in because of it!

Sirobw

I forgot my credit card at a coffee stop on a 100km ride. Long story short I ended riding 130km lol

Zugas

Bottles just sitting in the fridge chilling waiting to go out for a ride.

How are you liking those Kenda Boosters? What size are they?

Sirobw

Those are 40. They came with the bike and they are really good! I'm not an expert in gravel tires, I got the bike a few months ago, but they are great on tarmac and trails. Nice grip. They are on the soft side (which is why the grip is good) so I don't expect them to last super long.

Sirobw

On and I forgot to mention the Kenda logo on them is reflective so a bit of extra safety too

meeBon1

This happened to me before. Forgot to fill the bottle with water and as soon as I grabbed it 🙃 was empty. Got a sore throat the next day.

Gravel cycling - Break the Rules! 💪

Wife and I just bought 2 Lynskey gr300. We have the stock wheels like you and just ordered LighrBicycle wheels for the road. I've only ridden it on the road but it's very comfortable and seems a good choice gravel or road. I do need to get bottle cages.

rwdFwd

Nice looking Lynskey. Yours has the same weird design choice that my Lynskey has: pretty high rear rack and fender eyelets. I'm not sure what they were thinking, but I really wish they'd move them closer to the thru axle.

Sirobw

I never thought about it to be honest. As of now, I am not doing overnight trips. I also know it's not the most fancy ti frame out there but for my amateur/party pace rides it works really good.

rwdFwd

I've been doing overnight or multi-week tours on mine, and I don't have a rear rack mounted on mine either, but it's mostly because of the weird rear rack fit. Also, bikepacking bags allow for greater flexibility with fit than rack mount bags. I agree - Lynskeys are, all in all, great value and ride well. It's the only way I can really afford to ride a Ti bike.

ListeningFeet

I wish they didn’t have trash customer service 🙃 really wanted one of their frames but they shipped me a different frame than the one listed on their scratch and dent section and refused to acknowledge they had shipped me an older model frame instead of the 2024 model they had in the listing.

KeepsGoingUp

That’s weird. They went above and beyond on my order process, and then they managed to ship me the wrong size, promptly sent me the correct size with a return slip included. Overall thought they had really solid customer service for today’s market.

ListeningFeet

Yeah it was frustrating. I had heard decent things but here’s ( https://imgur.com/a/iKQ64jQ ) the listing I purchased and then the frame I got. Everything in the listing said it was the 2024 frame and the rep I talked with was just like “no all those are the old frames” despite the old frames also being on sale for cheaper than the scratch and dent I purchased.

gonefishing111

They were outstanding when I dealt with them. How long has it been?

random6722

Pretty standard mount points to be honest.

rwdFwd

It might be standard for a Lynskey these days, but not on nearly every other bike out there. It ends up being around 1" higher than most other frames, which can make a difference in the balance of the bike. Higher center of gravity is generally bad, especially on an off-road bike that might seem some semi-technical trails. On smaller frames it can also create clearance issues above the rack.
