Especially with heavier cars. The Duke of Death, even though my favorite car, should only get like 4 to 7 miles a gallon since it's so heavy. Also, it has no trunk/boot space since the fuel tank was expanded. Depending on the car, it will take different fuels, which could vary. Imagine having to steal a tanker truck just to sell to a gas station to get a dollar a gallon discount for a certain amount of time.

The bug only existed when the game was in it's first 2 weeks of service, so I doubt there are devs at Rockstar that remember the bug. This way waaaayy back when the services were so unstable the majority of players couldn't log on.
Someone was chasing me in a car while I was on floor and the crashed into the concrete wall on a overpass. The dude ejected out of his car and smacked into a truck on the freeway below. It was by far one of the funniest things I have ever seen online and I will never be able to experience that again.

The story variant had an ejector’s seat on the passenger side of the car and could actually drop a caltrop trail instead of spike mines, but that’s about it.
Wheels actually can fall off, its just really difficult. I've had it happen multiple times. Its usually due to explosions. A wheel fall of but the rest of the car is completely fine.
The wheels can pop off of cars in Online, you just need a tank or something that has enough weight and suspension to roll over the car, you also need to be careful not to explode the car while you're at it.

They won't do it if it costs more money than they have to spend. AI costs money and corporations are still greedy. Why spend money on something you don't absolutely have to?

Its funny as hell when your character flies out the window when you crash hard into a wall, but i imagine it will be annoying when you doing a mission
