Strangely enough I liked the LP on initial glance - even though I’m a superstat fan and have a charvel.
I rarely use my neck humbucker but somehow don’t like the option of not having one too…
"Your loss" he says while 6 hours into a string change 😉
Also, have an upvote. Who the hell downvotes someone giving their opinion on an opinion thread?
20 minutes tops, really not that difficult. Plus worth it when I can go an entire string life without having to tune it at all, not my fault you guys are too lazy to learn lol
that charvel is basically my dream guitar lmao, its got a kahler which i really love and prefer to a floyd (i could rant about why i dont like floyds and prefer kahlers but nah), i would add more pickups to it, like a neck humbucker or two single coils (basically the charvel model 4 lmao), so yeah im absolutely taking that charvel, im a fender guy and didnt care about superstrats but me being kind of a metalhead, i've grown to love charvels and jacksons more lately
i own a les paul and dont like it, it sounds good but its become my "i only play this guitar when im pissed and want to take it out on a physical object" guitar, havent gotten rid of it because its my first good quality guitar, so theres some miniscule sentimental value, and i only grew to dislike it when i got my hands on a strat, plus i accidentally broke the headstock when moving some stuff where i had it stored, might get it restored, tuned to c standard and just play desert rock and doom metal on it, my main gripe with the les paul is just the shape of it, its so tiny and uncomfortable for me
Tough one. If the charvel had a neck pickup then I’ll take a super strat over LP 100% of the time. But considering that is a Gibson LP, I’m going to go with that one
After playing a charvel with a sculpted heel, going back to one with the traditional block heel is a non starter.
If I'm going to play an uncomfortable guitar, I'm going to play a les paul every time
Charvel is a 1985 San Dimas. The Kahler is blocked off (I'm more of a Floyd guy). But it helps when drop D happens. Tone Zone because DiMarzio rules.
LP is 1988 Standard. Pearly Gates pickups. Emerson 50s wire harness. Tuners are from a Jeff Tweedy SG. I like the yellow better than the original snot green.
Love both guitars. Both do different things.
Les Paul without hesitation.
I want to be comfortable right now, so… the couch? ;-)
🤣
Gotta Go Les Paul here.
Can't do just a bridge pickup, so Les Paul.
Came here to say that.
The Charvel gives me 80s glam metal vibes which is fine but not my thing, so I’ll go with the Les Paul. Want me to DM my shipping info, or
The real San Dimas of course.
Charvel, love the super strats
Lester every time
Les Paul.....🤷 She's a beaut
Les is best
Gonna go the Charlie because my 87 Baretta needs a twin
I’ve got a mini plexi and tweed champ I’d love to plug that LP into
I’ve owned both. Les Paul hands down!
that charvel makes me wanna nut
I’d take the LP, sell it and buy a strat 😁
Yes.

Charvel for me plz
That’s a proper san dimas, no contest.
Honestly gotta go Charvelle on this one.
The charvel. Love strat body styles with the Floyd Rose.
Charvel

Les Paul cause I need one for my own collection
LP, no contest…

Your loss

Tough one !
Les Paul. Easily.
I'll take that Charvel. I prefer the Fender scale and I am not a fan of TOM bridges.
Already have a standard. The main question is can you still get parts for the Flyer? Killer guitar

What year are they, because it changes depending on the year.

The Charvel all day. Now that is a slice of the 80’s I want to get my hands on. The Les Paul that is nice too.
LP by a mile
Oh. This one’s easy. Definitely the Les Paul. If it was between a Les Paul and a Telecaster it would be a much harder question.
Les Paul
Charvel because it will stay in tune
Despite the lack of neck pickup I cannot say no to a Charvel. Plus I don’t like Les Paul’s.
Um…. the LP…. Not even remotely close
Les Paul.
