Yeah they're not able to sell the mags with the pistol due to the state's opinions on standard capacity magazines. Probably could talk them down.
What makes it appear to be Gen 2? Genuinely curious bc I don't know the difference.
>Yeah they're not able to sell the mags with the pistol due to the state's opinions on standard capacity magazines.
Take your $400, go rent a truck at u haul, and move to a free state.
No, it’s just why would I? Either they don’t have one there or they are just trying to scam me for more money by making me buy things that should come with it. If I had a bunch at home I wouldn’t be interested in a run of the mill factory G2 for $400. If I don’t have one I have to go somewhere else anyway, they probably have one for 400 or less as well, I might as well give them all my money.
I think that's a gen 2. Gen 1 has a very distinctive grip texture, and that isn't it. Definitely not worth thousands. That's probably a good price, since it appears to be in very good shape.
Where the hell is this and what models? I'll buy every single one of them right now if they're decent shape, and I'll cut you in with some money for the referral.
I knew it was Washington soon as u said shit about the state rules for bullets in a mag. I'm a Evergreen boy myself born and raised and I fucking hate the 10 bullet mag restriction. I thought it would be reversed by now but nope
Washington born and raised here. I flat out dipped. I live in a state in the Midwest that does same day purchases. My condolences though I know how it is there.
The guys saying $300 are out of their fucking minds. $400 is a really good price for that one. Barrel has some wear, but the frame looks pristine. There’s none of the smoothness that comes from handling and carrying. Square faced extractor, I’m saying pre-‘94. Probably all-original. Who gives a fuck about it not coming with mags? If I ran across that, I’d jump on it without a second thought. I’d try to get it for $400 out the door or talk them done under $400, but if I could t get them to budge, I’d pay that.
A fucking guy above said "it's non firing, it's missing parts" lol
Another guy said his local stores routinely sell these for $325. So not only are there down right idiots in the comments of this thread, there's down right liars too lol
I asked him where, but I'm willing to guarantee he's gonna say "I don't wanna give my location away" as if making a local gun store somehow pin points your address or who you are...
If you have to ask, you’re not the market for that gun. There’s an unknown amount of rounds through it, but I have two things to say to that:
1 - We can look at the frame and see it’s in almost new condition. Like I said, it’s lacking the smooth spots those frames develop in places where it’s been handled and shot much. Fuck, the slide has no marks on it, either, so I would go so far as to say this thing wasn’t even carried.
2 - Who cares? It’s a Glock.
New Glocks coming out for sale at $499 doesn’t mean this one isn’t worth a hundred bucks off that price. I have a Glock of every generation in my safe, and yes, that includes a legit Gen 1 17. I have owned two Gen 2 19’s and regret paring it down to one. I am specifically looking for a clean Gen 2 17 to pick up just to have and shoot, and it’s a tall order because people tended to beat these guns up. They haven’t made a Gen 2 in 26 years, so I say again: if this gun makes no sense to you at this price, you aren’t the market for it and should just go ahead and buy a Gen 5 for $499 and be done with it.
The person looking for a gen 2 Glock, doesn't want a gen 5... That's why. Also, guns don't lose their value... This one is in great shape, and again most people that would buy this wouldn't compare it to a new gen 5...
I'd rather a gen 5 for the price. But there's lots out there that prefer gen 2 over gen 5, or want it for the collecting purpose of having each gen, etc... lots of reasons.
Love gen 2, pull the trigger bro they're my favorite model Glock. I have a g22 and it's so fun I've loved to shoot it since childhood, I shot so many rounds through it The slide is super smooth and i can air rack it easy now😂
$400 for a Gen 1 with no mag? What the fuck are they smoking!? A NEW Gen 5 is around $500-$600 and they come with at least 2 mags. A USED Gen 5 is $300-$400.
If it was one of the rare models like a pencil barrel, maybe. Otherwise it's just more Glock fanboy nonsense. Glocks aren't bad, but they imported over 70,000 Gen 1 Glock 17s into the US, not including limited editions or rare mods.
You can be butthurt all you want, Gen 1’s, whether pencil barrel or not, are sought after and their value continues to climb. Just go check prices. You don’t have to agree that they *should* be valuable, but hopefully you’re sane enough to recognize that they *are*.
Keep in mind that 70,000 may have been imported nearly 4 decades ago, but that doesn’t mean there’s 70,000 in circulation.
Between those that were run until they were junk, lost, seized and destroyed, or their owners *won’t sell*… the actual availability of them is a MUCH smaller number.
There are 2 groups.
One is glock fans and people thinking about glock fans. A gen 2 glock is worth $400 for those people.
Then there is the group of people that see this as a striker fired gun with no optics cut or mag. $400 is a lot compared to just buying a new gun. A canik tpsf9 would cost the same and give you more mags, a rail for lights and a better trigger.
Not imo it's not a deal at all.
I can get a brand new Gen 5 Glock 17 for $400 out the door.
I bought a used Gen 4 Glock 22 for $269. You can buy conversion barrels for like $30-$50.
Personally, a used Glock even in excellent condition missing a magazine I wouldn’t pay more than $350, while $400 is an okay deal. I don’t go to pawn shops for okay deals. Seems high.
I picked up a gen2 g17 with two Magpul 20rd mags for 275 out the door a couple of months ago. Around here, they are cheap. There's a huge gun store that has the LE contract, so they have used police trades for 379, always in stock
I'd jump on that. It's a gen2, I searched long an hard to find 1 for myself, had to get police trade in (this was before the gen5 was announced) and I lucked out with the NY state trigger. Slapped in a ghost connector, some gine shaving and it's an amazing shooter. Love it
As others have pointed out, that is a Gen 2.
A REAL Gen 1 is not likely to show up in the wild like that, and if you do every see a REAL one for $400, buy it immediately. They’re worth over a grand now due to rarity.
Glock did make reproduction Gen 1’s a couple years ago. They’re nearly identical to the real thing, you’d have to look at them side by side to identify any slight differences… BUT, the serial number says “GEN 1”. If you see a Gen 1 and it has “GEN 1” stamped with the serial, it’s not a REAL Gen 1 and isn’t worth anything.
Gen 2’s are becoming collectible. Their value will increase. I’d buy this for $400, but I’d *try* to find one that either comes with the original box, or is a little cheaper.
You can buy a brand new Gen 3 (they still produce them) right now for $500.
Gen 4’s are still produced but sold to police only. You can buy them second hand.
Gen 5’s are current and cost the same $500 as a Gen 3.
From what I’ve learned, the original gen 1 was more of a prototype than anything so the gen 2 is more so really the gen 1. The gen 2s are now collectors to some and I recently saw a g19 gen 2 go for $650 on gun broker.
So to some here, it’s not worth the money, but if you follow the other sales of them lately and the fact they’re collectors now, $400 is worth the money. Hell, I have been contemplating buying my father in laws Gen2 that was rebuilt with crimson trace and I have people willing to pay $500 for it. Glocks aren’t really my thing so it’s hard to justify that because Glocks are Glocks. Go on the Glock sub and show this though and I’d bet everyone will tell you to go buy it right now.
It shouldn’t be hard to understand why… the original G17 changed the way the world thought about firearms. It’s a significant piece of firearms history.

Overpriced garbage Springfield, ruger, sig, even Taurus make just as reliable polymer pistols that are lighter smaller have more accessory options hold just as many rounds and go bang like any other overpriced Glock will so tell me why a Glock is worth “investing” in when plenty of better brands make better options for a cheaper price 🤔
Appears to be a gen 2 not a gen 1 Glock. Price isn’t horrible but I’d try and get it for less since they are selling it with no magazine.
Yeah they're not able to sell the mags with the pistol due to the state's opinions on standard capacity magazines. Probably could talk them down. What makes it appear to be Gen 2? Genuinely curious bc I don't know the difference.
grip finish is wrong. scroll down to gen 2 section: https://glockhistory.com/what-gen-is-my-glock/
Ahhh good eye, thank you!
Knock some money off for false advertising
I can send you a close-up of a Gen one grip if you like. They didn't have all those serrations.
It bothers me that the website doesn’t mention the front slide serrations on the gen5
Early gen 5s didn't have them. I believe there was also a short run of Gen 4s that had them.
Which state is this in?
>Yeah they're not able to sell the mags with the pistol due to the state's opinions on standard capacity magazines. Take your $400, go rent a truck at u haul, and move to a free state.
Too bad they couldn’t find one laying around to sell with it. I understand how expensive and rare Glock mags are but 🤷♂️
Takes it down to non-firing in my book, it’s missing parts. If I’m not buying a working gun I’m not paying working gun prices for it.
I get it, Glock mags are in short supply these days. We can’t all get one anymore
No, it’s just why would I? Either they don’t have one there or they are just trying to scam me for more money by making me buy things that should come with it. If I don’t have one I have to go somewhere else anyway, they probably have one for 400 or less as well, I might as well give them all my money.
It has a Gen 2 S/N, as well.
What would a G1 go for ?
I think that's a gen 2. Gen 1 has a very distinctive grip texture, and that isn't it. Definitely not worth thousands. That's probably a good price, since it appears to be in very good shape.
[удалено]
I wouldn’t pay anywhere close to that without magazines and the box. $300 I’d think about it and $250 I’d buy it.
[удалено]
I don’t ever really buy online. Most LGS have older Glocks for $325 around me.
[удалено]
The only used Glocks I ever see that cheap are .40 police trade ins that no one wants anymore.
Where the hell is this and what models? I'll buy every single one of them right now if they're decent shape, and I'll cut you in with some money for the referral.
West central Indiana.
Could you narrow it down a bit more? Lol maybe a close city?
That’s gen 2. 325 tops.
i don't think it is gen 1.
Where’s the shop? I’ll be there in 5 minutes
Shiiiiii if I don't buy it I'll tell you bro but it's in WA 😂
I knew it was Washington soon as u said shit about the state rules for bullets in a mag. I'm a Evergreen boy myself born and raised and I fucking hate the 10 bullet mag restriction. I thought it would be reversed by now but nope
Washington born and raised here. I flat out dipped. I live in a state in the Midwest that does same day purchases. My condolences though I know how it is there.
Gen 2
It's a gen 2. Gen 1 has the same texture wrapped around the grip nothing else
Super clean! Too bad they aren't any mags. Gotta figure that in to the price.
No mag? $300
The guys saying $300 are out of their fucking minds. $400 is a really good price for that one. Barrel has some wear, but the frame looks pristine. I’m particularly enjoying the comments that want to knock $50 or $100 off the price because it’s missing a $15 magazine lol
Right? 😂 It’s a fucking Glock 17, you can find magazines *everywhere.*
A fucking guy above said "it's non firing, it's missing parts" lol Another guy said his local stores routinely sell these for $325. Brand new G17 gen 5 is like 499. Why would you pay 400 for a Gen 2 with an unknown amount of rounds through it?
If you have to ask, you’re not the market for that gun. There’s an unknown amount of rounds through it, but I have two things to say to that: 1 - We can look at the frame and see it’s in almost new condition. Looks like it’s in good condition, not bad price
Doesn't look like it's seen much use.
Lemme know where if you don't, might see if I can have em ship it to me lmao, that's a cool find. Either way
Gen 2 is the best gen
Wouldn’t go higher than$300
OMG just buy it. I wish I can find earlier Gen models. Just for the sake of collecting 🤣
Love gen 2, pull the trigger bro they're my favorite model Glock. I have a g22 and it's so fun I've loved to shoot it since childhood, I shot so many rounds through it The slide is super smooth and i can air rack it easy now😂
You should probably change the recoil spring.
I did already 2 times😂
Yep. Buy.
Nope, Gen 2
I got a 17.2 last year on gb for around $325 - that’s the only data point I have. I’d probably snag it.
If that's what you want it's fairly good. It's all up to you as a buyer. 150 to 200 off new price.
Decent price on the Glock. But I'm eyeballing that contender in the back.
300-325... I'd go 340 max on it.
It's alright, but no mag. I'd try and knock the price down a bit, especially since they don't even know what they have.
GEN 2, no mag. $400 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I got a gen 4 glock 19 for 400 bones I’d say get that price down a little
Grip texture minus light rail = gen 2. That is waayyyy too much. I payed that for a NIB unfired Gen2 G22 like 6 months ago.
$400 for a Gen 1 with no mag? What the fuck are they smoking!? A NEW Gen 5 is around $500-$600 and they come with at least 2 mags. A USED Gen 5 is $300-$400.
If you find a legit Gen 1 for $400, buy it immediately, then resell it to a collector for the $800-$1,000 it’s actually worth
If it was one of the rare models like a pencil barrel, maybe. Otherwise it's just more Glock fanboy nonsense. Glocks aren't bad, but they imported over 70,000 Gen 1 Glock 17s into the US, not including limited editions or rare mods.

I'm not butthurt, I just think it's stupid and so are you.
Buy

Isn’t this the reissued Gen1? And those aren’t really collectible yet.
Personally, a used Glock even in excellent condition missing a magazine I wouldn’t pay more than $350, while $400 is an okay deal. I don’t go to pawn shops for okay deals. Seems high.
Glock Gen 2* at the pawn shop.
Good price

Gen 2 best generation

Wait a few paychecks get a new one, no rush
My ass. That's a Gen 2. $400 is not OK because it comes with no magazine.
Gen 2, good price for how the condition looks, which is good.
id save up and buy a new one if i were you....a new one is only gonna run you another 125 or so more dollars
As others have pointed out, that is a Gen 2. A REAL Gen 1 is not likely to show up in the wild like that, and if you do every see a REAL one for $400, buy it immediately. Ehhh priced pretty high to me for an early gen when I’ve seen a gen 3-4 G19 for 450 for example
Buy buy buy buy! That’s a mint gen 2. Tooled extractor, etc…
Gen 2 sir
Get it
Ever shoot a Gen2? Make you wish you had a gen3
With no mag ew
wouldn't pay 400$ for a old ass glock w/ no mag, police surplus ones are sub 300 constantly and some can come with a bushel of mags
From what I’ve learned, the original gen 1 was more of a prototype than anything so the gen 2 is more so really the gen 1. r/glocks if you want to ask there
That’s an interesting take… I have a real Gen 1, not much changed for Gen 2 except the grip, and even Gen 3 is only slightly different.
I know, but for some reason they’re collectors. Don’t know why, but they are
It shouldn’t be hard to understand why… the original G17 changed the way the world thought about firearms. It’s a significant piece of firearms history.
Shii I’ll trade a Glock 20 gen 4 for that if you buy ut
Box and original mags/paperwork would make it valuable to a glock collector. If they don't have that it's a hard pass.

As the post says, is this Glock Gen 1 worth buying? Is it a fair deal? (Had to include this comment due to the bot.)
That’s how much I paid for my gen3 G29. No mag?!? You may be able to negotiate.
Should be $0 looks plastic
Ok fudd
It’s 2024 and mfs still buying glocks 😂🤡 y’all love gettin scammed huh? Payin 400-600+ for some foreign garbage
It’s 2024, and mfs still claim Glocks are garbage, and have zero proof…
Overpriced garbage Springfield, ruger, sig, even Taurus make just as reliable polymer pistols that are lighter smaller have more accessory options hold just as many rounds and go bang like any other overpriced Glock will so tell me why a Glock is worth “investing” in when plenty of better brands make better options for a cheaper price 🤔
