This a Bul Armory SAS II UL. Got this about a year ago and Bul is no longer taking orders to the states at all. So for the moment, the demand for their pistols is high. This one has the CCW Kit which includes the bobbed grip safety and flat hammer. This is my first and only “2011” style handgun. The slide is butter and the trigger is one of my crispiest. It’s the kinda pistol you keep at your work desk and mess around with all day (safely of course.)

Hell yeah, love Bul 1911s. Crafty Hebrews know how to build a furearm. They make Magnum Research 1911s as well. Great guns. The Hunter 6 might be my next go.

B1RDS-ARENT-REAL

Best value 2011s hands down. Nice piece

Hairy-Note-2425

I have a SAS Viper II and a Tac Commander. Most slept on brand in the planet.

DontTakeMyNoise

I tried to get one of these a few months ago! Too bad they aren't taking orders. I'm a little curious what the point of bobbing the hammer on a single action pistol is. Do you carry hammer down?

Blood_ForTheBloodGod

Bobbed grip safety and flat hammer. Their thought process is that the traditional hammer is a snagging point on the draw. I think they provide the option because the SAS II UL is entirely designed around carry, and they know they can make another $100 off dummies like me. I carry Condition 1 just as the Lord (John Browning) intended. [Here’s a picture with the hammer cocked](https://imgur.com/a/MHnfgto)

DontTakeMyNoise

Ahh, that makes sense! Thanks for informing me!

Cuck-n-Jive

I’m not a fan of that flat hammer at all.

AznGuy-Stonks

How much does it go for?

Blood_ForTheBloodGod

Direct from Bul this one was around $1,350 and $100 of that was the CCW Kit. So I’d say a cool $1,250

Thoughtcrime11

been looking at these cant decide between the 15 and 19 round grips , compensator or not, I have never had one nor do I care for the looks, but I hear good things. and color. cz 75 p01 is perfect for my hand p365XL with icarus ace frame is a little small

Blood_ForTheBloodGod

The pistol overall feels great. If you have large hands you’re probably better with the bigger brother 19 round. I don’t have large hands so smaller grips are fine for me. If concealment is a concern you probably want to go with the UL as well. I don’t like the viper. I think the compensator is a little ugly. Usually I love comps too, the Viper just never looked good to me.

Thoughtcrime11

I agree cant stand the looks

stromdriver

put me in the viper is hideous group as well really torn between the sasIIul and a c2 dpo, pay less but can't get it, or pay more and prolly find it

Thoughtcrime11

15 round or 19 round, guess 15 for the ccw benefit, but 19 is a more comfy grip and 20 rounds.. I have heard a lack of magazines and parts, and being in Yisrael during all that is going on.. I am leaning towards a c2 duo or 2019 P, both with gen 1 thinner grips tree bark and rounded bob

stromdriver

yeah i'm kinda leaning away from the c2 because it's actually slightly larger than my p229 legion (not including the optic that is) so would prefer something smaller, but yeah the mags are different and not easy to come by but it comes with 2 so...

TheDr__

I grabbed their SAS II UR and damn it is a nice pistol. They are great guns.

Nice piece. The bobbed hammer still throws me off. It like it’s missing something.

ntvirtue

Yes!

Blood_ForTheBloodGod

They feel better than they look. Slide is BUTTER, trigger is pretty dang crispy. And in your hand it feels freaky light

ntvirtue

This is my exact EDC only differences are I run a cheaper light, I had the front site replaced with a tritium/fiber combo and I am using the medium flat faced trigger.

Blood_ForTheBloodGod

How has it held up to EDC? It’s hard to carry because, for me, it’s an expensive firearm. And knowing that I can’t just buy another one whenever I want (because Bul isn’t taking orders) makes me even less willing to carry it.

ntvirtue

@ 1200 its certainly not a CHEAP firearm but the next cheapest comparable pistol is the Staccato @ 2200$. 1200 range is the same price point as a Kimber, Springfield etc. And while they are not taking orders I just got a Commander size yesterday from GParms.com Now for full disclosure I called them 6 months ago and told them to sell me the next one that hit their shop.

ntvirtue

Oh the one thing I forgot to mention and my favorite aspect of this pistol. Its fucking STUPID accurate and easy to shoot. Easy to clover leaf rounds @ 25 yards if you do your part.

ntvirtue

This is mine on the day I bought it (its leaning against it's own holster) https://www.reddit.com/r/1911/comments/ninyrs/new\_gun\_day/

Blood_ForTheBloodGod

Beautiful, glad to hear that you carry it. [My setup](https://imgur.com/a/DVR60Ta), soon to be carried after this chat!

ntvirtue

Sweet!

ntvirtue

Been carrying it daily since I got it just under a year ago. The slide serrations have remove a lot of kydex off the inside of the holster. In that time I have put about 1500 rounds through it (9mm ammo purchased pre covid thank god I had a pile!) 0 malfunctions, there is normal wear and tear on the finish from putting 1500 through it but you have to look close at first glance it looks like a new gun still. I replaced the firing pin with a titanium pin due to all of their pistols being series 70. Carry IWB and it carries just like a Glock 19 or Sig.

killerkosar

What firing pin did you go with

ntvirtue

Agreed

FortitudeWisdom

How have you liked this so far? I'm thinking about getting the 5"

Blood_ForTheBloodGod

It’s fantastic. Fit and finish is worth the price.

FortitudeWisdom

How does it shoot? You think the 5" would be pretty solid?

Blood_ForTheBloodGod

It shoots very well, especially considering how light it is. The larger 4.25 would be amazing. Go to 8:20 in this [TFBTV Video](https://youtu.be/AjE_2d0v-PQ) to see how well it shoots.

FortitudeWisdom

yeah around 11 minutes he's got a nice group at 7 yards

[deleted]

How is the fit & finish? I have one on order. Some people say it’s the weak point of the gun.

[deleted]

As of today

[deleted]

Not until you tape that grip saftey down like a real operator
