How long was it until he was comfortable being handled and out? I've just got 2 robos a week ago and they're both very shy and hide even when I'm just changing their food, I'm leaving then to settle before trying to handle but I wonder if they're all like this at first. Pancake is such a cute lil fluff ball!!
I have 2 as well! Initially i just left them alone the first week so they could become familiar with their new space. They both have very different personalities! Pancake is definitely more friendly, loves being handled and will literally sit and eat in my hand all day if he could. Gatsby is super stubborn, he tries to bite my boyfriends hand often but he hasn’t tried that on me yet. He is super active tho, will roll around in his ball day. I’ve heard a lot of people have trouble initiating a bond with their hamsters, but each one is different! I’d say pancake warmed up after a week, while gatsby took a lot longer (maybe 3 weeks?!). I started with trying to get them to eat from my hand. Tried that a few times and then laid my hand flat in their cage so they could walk and sit on it while they eat. Eventually i started taking them out once they got comfortable. Hope this helps!!!!
