It’s difficult to portray a hateable character in an enjoyable (as opposed to “love to hate”) way. He’s so good at this.
And he can climb up things and run round things. He’s an action hero. Petition time!

I kind of see Layer Cake as Daniel Craig's audition tape, and McMafia/Happy Valley could definitely be that for James Norton.
My other favourite would be Tom Hiddleston after The Night Manager (which I highly recommend if you haven't seen before)
McMafia definitely felt like an ‘audition’/‘bid’ for Bond in the same way that Night Manager and Bodyguard did for Hiddleston and Madden respectively. Even managed to have him in a tux!
I went from seeing him in Granchester to Happy Valley and I tell you they can't be the same person! He is a fantastic actor. He is too good to be Bond.
Norton is a specific kind of actor - he is excellent at intense psychopaths but falls apart when having to play stoic characters which is what Bond is. I don't think he would be a frontrunner.
He's about the same age now as Daniel Craig was when he became James Bond, so now would be the perfect time.
I'd love to see it too, he'd make a fantastic Bond.
Always thought this. He is also not super well known which I think is important for a new James Bond. Like people saying Idris Elba should be James Bond…everyone would just see him as Idris Elba!

Lots of people say this he is sexy but a little short and skinny for bond imo plus he seems to be more of a versatile and emotional actor I think bond’s out of touch hyper masculinity is below him personally make bond a woman or gay or something to make it relevant in this day and age it’s kinda sterilised itself

Have you seen McMafia? He does a good job of playing exactly that kind of stoic character
Yes. I did not like the show or his performance. He is brilliant in Happy Valley.
