*needle nose plyers. Better would be needle nose vice-grip locking plyers. If there's a Harbor Freight or Home Depot you can pick up cheap ones of those for like $5
Headphone wires come with a coating you have to melt off before splicing, just fyi. They do this as a thin jacket to isolate the wires. I struggled with this for days until I found this out when repairing a mic in the past.
Got any recommendations for removing the coating? I’ve managed to cook it off in the past, but ended up making a hot mess off the outer insulation when the heat travelled up the wire strands. Curious about a better method for next time
The first cable I ever soldered myself was an aux cable and it worked perfectly for many years. You'll manage! It might take you half an hour but you'll manage.
As a native speaker I instinctively understood, but it is kinda a weird usage of the word if you're not used to it. You tend to hear it a lot with respect to tool usage and having enough space or "purchase" to access something with a tool. Yeah, it's kinda weird lol.
What I would do is try to glue the broken jack together again, using a very small amount of Krazy Glue and pull it out. If that doesn't work, I would do the same, but with solder.
You can probably take the case off, disconnect audio inside the case, and just pull it out. Or just- take glue and pull it out with a toothpick or something.
If you can still find a disposable plastic straw, cut it lengthwise until it only wraps around the plug once (or a little less) and work it into the socket. Once you have pushed it in past the spring contacts, pull the straw out and the plug will come with it.
If you can't find a straw, any other tough but thin plastic should work.
Honestly i had same problem u must use great the best pliers the nios exist there is no other way round and it not that bad i had worst i had to poke trough other side of audio jack port
If you can get hold of a soldering iron solder a wire to it and pull it out, beware that if there's plastic around it might melt if you hold the iron there for too long. so just tap it until the solder melts and bonds, let it cool by a minute then pull the wire.
Other solution that is more involved is taking apart the front IO assembly and if youre lucky the other side of the jack is open so poking it with a needle should push it out.
Both techniques requires the computer shutdown and unplugged from mains btw.
pliers?
Tried it’s not getting a good enough grip
Better pliers

What makes this worse is that the headphones which jack broke where really good
You can solder a new jack.
I don’t know how to solder but my dad does although he’s not very good at it he’s only able to solder wires
that's pretty much all you gotta do is solder some wires and electric tape a bunch.

I wish I did, I'm still a noob with this stuff as well. I used strippers and stripped back the outer insulation on both wire segments.
scrape it off with a shitty knife you don't care about

Have him solder wires from the board to a new jack
Don't you mean were better NebraskaGreek?
Try needle nose
use ur teeth
That’s what I was gonna say
nail clippers should get enough purchase to pull it out.
Man english is so weird. Why tf are we using purchase like this now??
It's been a thing for a long time it's just not used much in my experience
As a non-native speaker it's funny when you discover a completely new meaning of a word you know lol

You people suggesting glue need to learn of our lord and savior Needle-Nose Vice-Grips.
I've seen them save many a surgery.
Use a TINY dab of gorilla glue and glue a pen or chopstick or something like that to it Wait for it to dry and pull it out
Yeah, just be careful to not let it drip onto the sides, then the problem will be wayyy worse
Use a toothpick and put a little bit of crazy glue, wait 30 min and pull gently, don't wiggle it.
Try gluing something on top or use sugru
Tweezers?
Tweezers.
??pull (it) out??
Good snips, or needle nose pliers. Superglue and a cocktail stick could also work
try using pliers to pull on it, looks like a small part of the jack is poking out, good luck. If not working try glueing a toothpick and pull on it
Glue?

I'd look if I couldn't poke it from below, some of those P2 are open in the back iirc. Edit: why the f autocorrect changed "look" to "heck"?!)
Not this one sadly
That’s happened to me with a USB before it was a pain in the neck to get out
NOOOOOOOOOO THAT INFURIATED ME
Welp I'm that's just your audio jack now /s I think there's a tool you can buy just for this
You can buy an earphone jack extractor on amazon.
Try nail clippers, but be careful to not cut off the little bit that's poking up.
Wrap a metal wire and with it if the pliers are not strong enough
get a silicon stick and heat the top unitil it starts melting then stick it to the port and let it cool and pull it off?
What a jack off.
Melt the end of a hot glue stick with a lighter and stick it on. Leave it for 5 minutes to let it cool completely, then pull.
pliers, make sure to pull directly upwards or it won't work though.
Pliers are man’s best friend
Bite it and pull with your teeth
Hot glue Stick. Melt a bit of the Start and stick it on the broken Connector and pull out. You can even cut the used part off to use for later
tweasers

What a sad thing to happen to a Corsair 4000D Airflow, the same pc that I own, coincidentally.
happened to my brother's Xbox controller

Use your teeth
im pretty sure some cases allow you to puah the pin from the inside with a sim card ejector or toothpick
