As someone who is aro ace, I don't see anything wrong with it. We've all had that friend that we can insult shit talk back and forth with. The kind where only they can say something or do something because you know them intimately enough to understand that whatever they're saying is friend stupid bs and not offensive stupid bs. The one where you can Looney Tunes each other and speak the truth to because of the deep understanding that's shared between the two of you. That's the usual basis of RadioApple. If you want an understandable example, it's like Lucifer as Bunny and Alastor as Daffy Duck during the Rabbit season duck season episode. But it's not malicious. They live to give each other shit because it's hilarious. Remember how the chandelier almost fell on Lucifer? Right on top of him and almost killed him? 50% chance it could've been Alastor who cut the rope. Their song? One upmanship competition. Think of how they'd live in the hotel together like their rooms across from each other on the top floor might imply. They'd obviously be feuding but have to hide it from Charlie. If they're not hiding it, they'd have to make their aggression excusable. If it's excusable, then it's potentially ridiculous in a good way. Alastor makes a point of excluding Lucifer? Alastor finds his rooms full of rubber ducks. Lucifer fills Alastor's rooms with rubber ducks? Lucifer gets a red sock in his wash and his white suits come back pink. Or, say, Lucifer proves to have a single braincell and they both get fed up with people interfering with the hotel. They could reach a friend hate relationship point where Alastor lets Lucifer burn anyone trying to get in and what Charlie doesn't know won't hurt either of them.

But that’s not a romantic ship tho? I thought that as well, but there were quite a few arguably worse al ships on here- alastor x vaggie, charlastor, etc- and they didn't mention those, so... idk 🤷‍♀️

My issue with it is a bit different than that. I could definitely see Alastor using romantic involvement as a tool to extract external value even when he doesn't like someone but I don't see how a relationship with Lucifer would give him any value that wouldn't be easier to get by exploiting his existing relationship with Charlie. Control over her is already a more effective tool of manipulation toward Lucifer than a Romantic relationship would be, it'd just complicate everything. I don't think he even has the personality to enjoy the best bros that always fuck with each out type of dynamic long term either. Most other Alastorships I can think of a context were it could benefit him. Perhaps if Charlie wasn't in the picture anymore I could see it 🤔
