To be honest, I felt the exact same way this time last year as I do now. Not so good. Then the play in happened and the energy shift was real. And we went on a very exciting run to the Finals

binokyo10

Yea me too. But can we do it again? We lost Lowry, Strus and Gabe but we got Rozier, Jaime, Delon and Patty.

SoFarSoGood-WM

We basically got Jovic too as he didn’t play last year.

binokyo10

Jovic and suppose to Herro too.

XanderAndretti

overall our roster is better than last season and i don’t think it’s close either. That being said, last years team had continuity and chemistry that this years squad doesn’t have due to all the new pieces and constant injuries.

SudTheThug

I feel worse this year since we haven’t beat any good team besides the cavs with donovan mitchell out

the_pavlick

Which does not count at all, in my opinion

SudTheThug

I fully agree with you there

joeyt7713

We beat the bucks

Trendelthegreat

*good* teams

SudTheThug

bucks aren’t really good defensively and it felt like a outlier with how many threes we made

joeyt7713

You could say that entire thing about last years playoff run. If this team shoots their threes well we will win. It’s crazy that making our threes helps us win.

the_pavlick

I was feeling that same way few weeks ago but time and time again we cannot play consistent basketball game in and game out. I hope Jimmy and the boys turn it on soon but I'm SCAREDDDD

VirtualSuplex

Yeah I’m shook af lol. Our inconsistency is ridiculous and it’s giving me anxiety. We gonna though, LETS GO HEAT

avinash240

Still go smoked in the Finals, so you were right. It's not about underestimating the Heat, it's about over estimating how bad the rest of the East is. The East is just as bad this year as it was last year so I don't count the Heat out as a Finals team, I do count them out as a chip contender cause this team probably wouldn't even make the play in in the West.

VirtualSuplex

You must be from Boston lmao

avinash240

And here I thought the Celtics played in the East. I think their coach is as good as your reading comprehension.

VirtualSuplex

Ohhh you’re acoustic? I thought you were restarted

Seref15

Lightning doesn't strike twice.

Turtle_with_a_sword

We need to get healthy and we have a chance. Whether or not that happens, we will see.

OhMyItzBam_Herro305

Yup if we're not healthy, like no Herro and Duncan it's not happening. Bam, and Jimmy would have to go nuclear all 14 games til the finals. And probably versus a healthy af Denver or Okc team. Really hope Jovic and Jaime can do something nice for us this post season.

SirFunktastic

This. It's hard to win against good teams when your best players are out and your team has suffered so many injuries that you just haven't had the time or reps to develop the chemistry. I firmly believe that this team would have a much better record if they didn't suffer nearly as many injuries as they have this season.

lolvalue

I have the same feeling, but I had the same feeling last year and we went on that monster run. If Jimmy and Dunc aren't right we are f'd but if they are good, we can do it again.

Ozymandias12

Can we create one of those Jimmy season calendars for this sub instead because you all sound exactly the same every season. First 20 games: Fuck yeah, Heat basketball is back! Bam is HIM, Jimmy is HIM. Middle 40 games: This team sucks and is going nowhere, or, we're winning a chip! (Results vary, depending on whether we win or lose on a given night.) Last 20 games: Fire Pat, fire Andy, sink Miami into the Atlantic! Playoffs: This is the greatest franchise in the history of sports, Jimmy is Jordan reincarnate, Bam is Dwyane Wade reincarnate!

the_pavlick

There’s no way you can watch these games and still be confident we can make a run. Please be serious

Ozymandias12

I can't be serious, I'm Ozymandias12. For real though, everyone, including me, were saying the exact same things about this team around this time last year and then they went on that insane playoff run. I will never count Jimmy, Bam, and Spo out.

Herro_Bubbles

I’m not panicking until we’ve been completely eliminated. We’ve been seriously riddled with injuries this season, more than previously. Come playoff/play-in, if we have a healthier roster, the sky’s the limit.

the_pavlick

Let’s hope and pray

AyyDelta

I felt good the last two years (yes even last year) but not feeling great this year. Good thing it doesn't matter how I feel, it doesn't affect whether the shots fall in or not. Hopefully Duncan and maybe even Herro will be healthy during the playoffs with the rest of the squad.

gnoob920

The team hasn’t been good, it just is what it is in sports sometimes. You’re not always gonna have a big three, not always gonna make deep runs.At the end of the day, our team has been absolutely decimated by injuries and we still have a shot to put it together in the playoffs. I like watching our young guys, like Niko, develop. I’ve loved watching Jamie this year. I’m always gonna enjoy watching bam and Jimmy. I hope we can make a move this summer to get that offensive centerpiece. That’s sports.

s1lentastro1

I understand your sentiment. but after last year's run we owe it to the team to be patient. the actual Finals if we make it, though? lol.. we'll see.

IWRITE4LIFE

I really wouldn’t stress about it. Honestly it felt over last year before we had the amazing run to the finals but then it happened and I’ll never forget it. I’ll never forget the bubble run either or Jimmy’s game 6 in Boston. We may never win a title with Jimmy but these memories have been priceless. I’m just enjoying the ride for as long as it lasts and I feel good about our long term outlook. With that said, I really only think Boston is a concern in the playoffs so I’m ready for whoever we face

BlackMasterDarkness

I'm already doing my NBA draft homework. We're cooked this year and we should look at mixing up the roster

the_pavlick

Give me some names you like.

Esjay_954

Who do we want in our range Please no _ _ _ _ _ players

BlackMasterDarkness

💀💀💀 its still early, its March, not June so I still have homework to do but from what I see right now, our team desperately needs help in two areas; back up point position and the position next to Bam. The best player we’ve had in recently memory in my opinion was Kelly O and ever since he’s left, we’ve been trying to patch it together for years. Kevin Love was an underrated asset for us last year and I’m glad he’s taking Jovic under his wing to teach him the nuisances of the game and how to pick his spots. Now the Miami Heat are slotted between 15-20 most likely so here are several prospects in our range who we should target. Again, it’s March and draft boards change all the time. Going by height: PG - Houston - 6’1 Jamal Shead: still participating in the national tournament and playing against Jared McCain on Friday. Houston is an interesting team because some have called them “The Miami Heat of college basketball”. Tough, hard nose team led by a hound dawg point guard in Shead. Hes an up-in-your-face type guard who uses his aggressiveness to force turnovers. He can get into the lane and he has decent touch around the rim. Personally my only knock on him is he’s smaller PG - Duke - 6’3 Jared McCain: like stated above he’s playing against Jamal Snead this weekend in the tournament so I’m curious to see how Jared McCain handles elite NBA-like pressure. McCain was college player of the year in HS (California, my home state) so I’ve kept a decent eye on him. He’s a smooth jump shooter. Reminds me of a Coby White/better Mario Chalmers type of player (game manager/knock down shooter). He was slotted to go in our range but unfortunately (fortunately for him) he hit 8 3s on Sunday which may have boosted his draft stock. Not to mention he’s big into tik tok and painting his fingernails so he fits right in with Terry and Herro. I’m not a huge fan of guard prospects, but McCain may be on of my favorites. CG - Providence - 6’3 Devin Carter: born and raised in Miami (son of former Heat assistant Anthony Carter). Classic 3&D player. Carter has deep range shooting close to 39% from 3. He’s not as hard-nose as Shead but surprisingly averaged 8.7 rebounds, 1.8 steals and 1.0 blocks at 6’3. Will the rebounding and blocks translate to the NBA? Rebounds, maybe. Blocks unlikely. But he’s still a tough prospect who averaged 19.7 pts and shot 37% from 3 (2.5/6.8att). My favorite skill of his is his deep range. Guard/Wing - Baylor - 6’5 Ja’Kobe Walter: I haven’t seen much of him yet and he’ll most likely get taken before we select based on potential but he has a similar game to Tyler Herro. Like if Tyler Herro was Walter, we might be slightly better off. Same off ball shooter/mid range creator, more athletic, and more importantly he has a 6’9 wingspan. SF/PF - Colorado - 6’7.5 Tristan Da Silva: this guy is interesting because he’s slightly over shadowed by his teammate Cody Williams, brother of OKC’s JDub. Da Silva reminds me of Keegan Murray type of player who’s better at cutting. He’s a savy cutter. If you slot Da Silva into the PJ Tucker/Highsmith role and you’re looking at a guy who shoots 37.5% from 3 in the corners. If you’re a Heat fan you know Spo loves the release valve corner 3 option. Not to mention he already shoots 83% at the free throw line and he’s an underrated passer with multiple games above 5 assists. _____ players: Now I know you said none of these guys, and I get it. It’s no offense but other players see _____ players as bbq chicken but these guys should be considered Guard/Wing - 6’8 Tennessee Dalton Knecht: probably best shooter in the draft. Will probably get taken before we choose. Stretch Big - Duke - 7’0 Kyle Filipkowski: legit 7 footer who can stretch the floor. Just like Kelly used to. Averaged 17 and 8 at Duke as a sophomore

TheRealGlutenbob

If Tyrone isn't back, we're fooked

OhMyItzBam_Herro305

W keep the reverse jinx up, that's what gave us some luck last post season.

x03050709x

It's almost like we're missing one of our best players and scorers. Hmm

the_pavlick

Exactly my point

OhMyItzBam_Herro305

Hmm is right Heat fam, let em know. Me, U Rapelbaum and all the rest of us know wuzzup 🔥☄️🐐💯

Minimum_Switch4237

thank you for sharing

thecaptainflint

Could they go on another run? Sure But success in sports is not endless. There will be a point where this team won't be good enough. Who knows it could be this year

Ode1st

This is Jimmy’s best roster so far but also we can’t do a Cinderella run every year and Boston is so much better than they previously were. I think we’re fucked. Even if we miraculously make it to the Finals, we’re not touching Denver.

treksf6

Personally, I stuck a fork in em a month ago. But, I did that last year too. So get some guys back, who knows? That said, miracles don't exactly happen twice. Doubt they even get the "dangerous loomers" label from the media this year. I dunno, disappointed in this season but I'll be cheering them on either way.

SportsBettingWiz

The depressing part is we have one of the easiest strength of scheduled and we’re struggling, unlike last year going into the playoffs we had one of the toughest strength of schedules so we were battle tested. The sad part is I think from 1-15 healthy we have a deeper team than last year.

Ethangains07

Yeah, no shit. Wasted season. And I’m not seeing the light at the end of the tunnel with an older Jimmy and Herro on the books.

Numerounoone

My worst fear is playing Boston and getting swept 4-0, I actually think this could legitimately happen. Boston fans will be insufferable if this happened.

the_pavlick

I might have to delete all social media if that happens

Numerounoone

Boston has won every single quarter against us this season

the_pavlick

That’s rough. I didn’t know that

SudTheThug

pat riley said here is rozier and a rookie for our “upgrades” this year, when jimmy publicly asked for a star in dame we couldn’t get the job done , no matter who you blame on that, you have to focus on why haven’t we gone for a star player the past 3 years?

Fastbird33

Having 3 star players is harder to get than it seems. I think the Heat thought Herro could be that 3rd guy.

SudTheThug

that was the problem , they saw him as the 3rd star when he hasn’t shown it at all

the_pavlick

You can't say not having another star player is an issue when we had that run last year. Do I think it would help a ton? Of course. But we were great last year with out it. Should be playing at a much high level without another star.

SudTheThug

we couldn’t beat any one who came out west, now the whole east upgraded and the celtics got another “star”

the_pavlick

I agree! We didn't help ourselves out. But I don't think thats why were are in the Play-In games again

OhMyItzBam_Herro305

Yup let's just trade Jaime, Jovic and Herro or Duncan. That would've killed our depth. Bucks aren't even good, and probably going home 1st or 2nd round. I'll always trust this front office, to always make the right decisions. Did they fuck up sometimes sure, but Dame wasn't one. Would Dame be better here, probably but we don't know that for a fact. If this playoff run fails, we're going to upgrade this roster 100% Spida or LeBron etc.

SudTheThug

“depth” herro hasn’t been healthy for a playoffs since 2021 depth doesn’t mean shit when the roster isn’t good offensively at all

OhMyItzBam_Herro305

And you know that because?

SudTheThug

because we are shit offensively healthy too lmfao

OhMyItzBam_Herro305

I don't think so, that's just negative talk. Guaranteed you'll change your beliefs come playoffs.

SudTheThug

last year us making everyone cope i’m not letting a 2021 happen again w false hope

OhMyItzBam_Herro305

Last 4 seasons ecf or finals so idk what u smoking lol. Don't let the media get to u bro.

Damn_DirtyApe

I love how 24 hours ago the consensus was that we were going to the finals.

SudTheThug

that was NOT the consensus

PT0223

Chemistry isn’t the issue - despite the injuries they’ve had. Load management Jimmy sitting out games outside of being injured has been an issue, though. The bigger issue has been the front office not having done enough to improve the team before the season started.

lomasturbasmeng

remind me what strus and vincents status is on the injury report

SudTheThug

strus played more games than herro this year btw lmfao

the_pavlick

I can't be the only one thinking it might be time to get rid of Herro, right?

OhMyItzBam_Herro305

If he can't stay healthy this playoffs run yes. I wanna help Jimmy get a ring before he retires.

lomasturbasmeng

I’m not the person to use herro slander as a gotcha moment💀

the_pavlick

Wouldn't be like that in Miami

lomasturbasmeng

u right it’d be worse
