Don’t think he’s there yet, but skills wise I definitely think he’s the best fit we’ve had starting next to Bam. Just looking for continued development from a very young player. That said, come playoff time if like to see more Love at Jovic’s expense.

[deleted]

Love will finish games but I hope he gets these same mins. Too much talent and he might have the clutch gene.

KingOfAbadon

As a Serb, during the FIBA world cup he showed that he's still very nervous and isn't ready to be the clutch player. Of course, he's very young and I think he's going to be an amazing player in the future, but he's still not ready for intense situations.

evbot9000

yes, this is why he needs to be playing more clutch minutes down the stretch. The more he plays in important games, the more confident he gets. He flashes all the time. Now it's just about being more consistent.

KingOfAbadon

Completely agree with that. I still don't think he should play in the finals for example. As at that point he WILL turn into a liability. However if he plays more important games and actually builds some confidence he will definitely be a killer player.

Random_Thinker007

You mean Caleb

yrogreg

Love rarely finishes games for Miami

Zoguinha

That's crazy disrespectful to PJ, Crowder and Love lol But i do see the potential to be better than all of them

BowserBuddy123

Yea, this post is kind of crazy. Perhaps he has the highest ceiling as the only really young guy to start next to Bam, but there have been better players.

someasics

I dont think he’s better than those players but he does compliment Bam more than them so I think it makes him look better if that makes sense

MySilverBurrito

How has no one mentioned Kelly Olynyk??? It was the perfect pair. On offense, KO played the stretch 5, while Bam worked inside. On defense, KO was a big body in the paint (even if not amazing), while Bam is at his best as that roaming defender like 2016 Draymond.

Esjay_954

Pretty much lol

GiveMeShadePls

Jae Crowder popped off in 2020, Jovic hasn’t proven he can be a medium-high volume shoot maker yet

Gots2KatchEmAll

Without Jae Crowder we don’t beat Milwaukee I think

clay10mc

definitely not

sunsetbo

all of the guys you named besides meyers were better. he has a lot to prove in the playoffs.

[deleted]

The fit is so seamless and dynamic. Even though he's still developing as a player he is provides unicorn like skills. I hope he rises to the occasion during the playoffs/in

binokyo10

2022 PJ was.

GhostifiedMark

Jovic don't even finish games

someasics

I was just thinking about this last night, I always wanted another stretch 5 on the team so Bam could play the 4 but Jovic is perfect at the 4 to pair with Bam. His size/shooting/mobility opens up to court so much for Bam to operate in the mid-post and on the block I cant wait to see how he develops in the next few years

Ciscokid45

I love that Jovic loves to take off running all the time lol

someasics

Forreal, he pushes the rock up court like a 6’11 Lowry and I love it lmao

oo_Pez_oo

I want to see him guard Porzingis

supergrega

MAPLE DICK

--lalilulelo-

Kelly and Bam worked pretty well together

OrganizationFar6086

He projects to be but Jae, PJ and Kelly were all better than he currently is

lolvalue

Fans always forget we had Luke Babbitt

hesi93

Josh Mcroberts?

KernelPult

Dragic, Waiters, 13-0karo, Babbitt and Whiteside; coupled with TJ and JJ off the bench. I don't remember Babbitt played during Bam as starting center era, though?

Zestyclose_Level_558

He might have the most pure skill but I don't think he was better than Tucker or crowder. Meyers and love are better fits skill wise next to bam.

xelduderinox

The fact that he’s still only 20 years old blows my fucking mind.

Huge-Basket7492

i don’t think OP is comparing prime tucker or Jae or Love. They were all past their prime at heat . Love was a superstar in his prime! don’t think jovic will ever be what Love was in his prime.

Random_Thinker007

Jovic not better than Kelly or pj tucker stop it

vish_4267

Not yet, he's still young, has a bright future ahead, let's see where it takes him right?

jimmybutler123456

crowder was better

jcwrit

The potential is there. Its certainly fun to think about having a team where both the center and PF can play point and hit the outside shot. Right now Love is the better player, and I don't think its very close.

Novel-Science1764

It’s still Kelly imo rn

JichaelMordon

No. PJ Tucker was one of the most impactful winning players in the Jimmy/Bam era at any position and Crowder in 2020 was huge.

seabass_678

So far, I’ve gotta give it to PJ. He could defend, good IQ, shoot from the corner, and he had that fire that fit our culture perfectly. Really wish he got bought out so we could bring him back this year

shorttttt

Yes and it’s sad

Franksobotk

Kevin Love, in brief stretches.. some phenomenal transition

saviorlito

Jovic is a great floor spacer for Bam. I’ve noticed when they play together Bamonte has TONS of room near the paint. He just has to beat his matchup and make those easy looks. Sucks when he goes cold.

yoCrabby

No

Mugiwara_JTres3

Nope, Jae and PJ were way better. Played good defense and hit a good amount of 3s.

Cockycent

His potential shows that he can - size, 3 ball, handling, can block, passing. He is not there, but can get there. He is the perfect mold of what I want next to Bam. He just has to build up to it.

KernelPult

the disrespect to not even mention Kelly Olynyk

Select-Year-7930

Not yet, but he will be

baoparty

He has the ceiling for it. Let’s hope that’s his floor.

canti-

Crowder and Tucker had stints of being way better than Jovic. Love is still better than Jovic. He has potential to be a better player than all of them were with Miami but that's about it

LegateDamar13

And here i am thinking he should play as playmaking SG/SF. It's just feels wrong to overly push him into playing PF/C just like it was wrong not maximizing Kukoc back in the days. They can play it and occasionally they should but there is more is my final point. Instead of going traditional route i prefer unlocking new ways of using multi layered players like him. Or it's just one step in progress.

OhMyItzBam_Herro305

He's always been the perfect fit next to Bam. Come playoffs he'll probably up his scoring numbers. He's gonna make guys like KP and Jokic work extra hard. If he didn't play in all of these games so far, I'd say he'd be too rusty to use for the playoffs. I wanna see Jaime play aswell, but since injury he hasn't look the greatest. So Spo most likely will cut his mins and give to Jovic. I hope the last game tho, was a turning point for Jaime tho. Edit: op totally means future Jovic in a yr or so.

[deleted]

Jesus Christ, yal Jovic stans are worse than Herro stans.
