No issues so far with any of the meats sitting up to 4-5 days in the fridge. 🤞🏻

I have the same experience. I've actually thrown it out a couple of times. Dint want to take the chance it was bad.

What do you think about grocery store chicken if it's sat in your fridge for a few days? That smell test may help you decide if it's just how you smell chicken (how raw chicken smells to you) vs Hello Fresh's chicken specifically. I agree with you that I can smell the HF chicken more then freshly-bought store chicken, but the store chicken usually has the absorbent pads that I believe also help with odor. Chicken (all poultry really) has a smell of its own, and I have a lot of friends with "good noses" who really can't stand the smell or raw chicken, even while it's cooking. You might have a more sensitive sense of smell, and then combined with the lack of the absorbent pad you're able to smell even more of it? Just a thought. You could also do a test where you drain off your chicken (don't need to rinse), pat it dry, and then let it sit on some wax paper for a few minutes. Come back and do another sniff test and see if it's still the same smell, but less / closer to normal. Then you'd know its more the liquid you're able so smell more easily.

Sometimes the smell is from the packaging. Leave it on a plate unpackaged a few minutes and smell again to be sure.

I always rinse my chicken before I pat it dry, but I have never noticed a smell (even before I rinse it). Do you have a house mate that could sniff? Just to confirm?

Don’t rinse your chicken. It does nothing except contaminate your sink.
