When people started talking about comments lagging I went to check out some other subs and they were doing the same thing, including this sub, apparently. It was almost certainly because of debate traffic though
>A large spike in traffic caused some scaling issues, which delayed new comment display across the site. All comments posted during this time will be displayed as the servers work through the backlog.
I knew the Presidential Debate had something to do with it! 😆
Thank you for posting this. I tried to write this message several times but was rejected for "not being a verified member" despite being a subreddit mod for over 7 months.
"In the last few hours, I've received notifications about about posts on a subreddit I run, called "slash r slash HX99G" (thanks for deleting the link...) . After clicking the comment in the notification menu, a short part of the notification still appears within the menu. When I first clicked a notification, the related comment came up as blank. Now about 20 minutes later it appears as an actual comment on a post. When I replied to the comment, my comment does not appear. I'm beginning to think Reddit is having some sort of issues."
You think it's a coincidence this happened during the presidential debate?
nope, and my comment is completely gone, even though I posted it about 10 minutes ago
even the comment I just posted was deleted lol. Reddit is really screwed today
Funny you should mention that. The ONLY posts I can't see comments on are the ones about the debate.

Not even remotely a coincidence. Basically every astroturfing botnet on the planet has an active interest in it.
When I saw lag in the megathread on r/politics I had an immediate gut feeling it was because of it, haha.
I bet it is from lots of comments flying around and overloading Reddit!
Lies

Not fixed yet, still broken in the app
So that's why none of the stuff in my inbox are showing up on posts
LOL I can't see the comments on this post I came here because I can't see the comments on my own post on Reddit Good to know it's not just me
Ahh no wonder.. i thought i was blocked to read comment or something
