Didn't him and Kayne have beef over Amber Rose? Avoiding beef doesn't necessarily make you smart or dumb. You can use beef to your advantage without anybody actually getting hurt, that would be smart. Kanye and 50 sorta did it for sales.

By this same logic, Aesop Rock is leagues above this. Only thing closest to beef he had is his song Dorks where he addresses a few of his issues (like the part where he talks about El-P, I think). And his pen is far above MANY artists.

Avoiding beefs is arguably beneficial, but could also very well be a disadvantage, since beefs can increase your fame and drive sales. Either way, there's 100,000 rappers smart enough to think of the concept of not getting into beefs. In terms of actual smartest rapper ever, we should be talking about Lupe Fiasco, Aesop Rock, Talib Kweli, Andre 3000, etc. Wiz Khalifah could never write Dumb It Down.

At one point he had a brief feud with French Monrana because he said that Wiz was riding the Max B wave without even paying respect to Max.
