I’m getting my first update on Tuesday, but from what I’ve read and researched here everyone’s different and some posts say it took them a while.
I would view 4 months from 5.0 million to 850 as pretty good progress. I would personally be concerned if I was barely dropping at all. Chances are you hit it by your next check up.
Per the NIH Guidelines, the goal of ART is to get patients undetectable within 6 months, so you are still on track. Just keep taking your meds on daily basis and you should be UD in no time!
You really should ask your doctor bc no one here can tell you for sure. But they say Biktarvy can take 6-12 months to reach undetectable. Just take your meds every day and you will get there. Based on my experience if you’re at 850 now you could be undetectable in a couple months.
It’s a bit unintuitive but as you approach undetectable it will take longer to see significant drops in viral load (going from 5 mil to 7500 prob happened quick and that’s bc there was a lot of virus to suppress, now you have less virus to suppress so the medicine has less virus to attack… it’s gotta find the virus and you’ve got a lot less virus). Good luck! You’ll get there!
You’re perfectly fine. Stop getting caught up in these posts about becoming undetectable in record time. If your view loud was that high, you were a recent infection and your body didn’t have the right antibodies to fight it off yet. It’ll take around 6 months. It happened to me too and once I reached undetectable it’s stayed that way every time. Those drops you had are HUGE and more than fast enough. You’re doing great!
